They volunteered to do this for us if I recall correctly. It was J-Hope’s idea, he asked Jimin and then JK. Like instead of relaxing, they end up deciding/agreeing to do this.
Nick Joseph actually reacted and talked about this choreography with Steezy here on youtube, there's a whole vid.
They did have a time crunch as it took like 3 weeks inbetween all their BTS schedules and work. Note their schedule and their team were also preparing for the concert PTD, LV fahion and so on. This is how BTS and BigHit does their work. they go full scale production for something that is a gift ie free to watch or use.

BTS always watch the replays of their dance practices / MV shoots after each take. you can watch a lot of behind the scenes on almost all MVs

Props to their camera crew. They’re def the hardest (and strongest!) working crew.
The way they work reminds me of WORLD CLASS SPORTS CHAMPS
PS: They used to do music shows where they have to re record singing up to 20 times and repeat the same dance for about as many times running over the course of 26 hours for a 30 minutes segment
PPS: I think the start there this is just rehearsal? Because their clothing is different from the final product

if u like behind the scenes stuff u should DEFINITELY watch huynjins preparations to the “artist of the month” motley crew performance, this is such… fascinating yet kinda scary(?) stuff that ppl push themselves out of their limits like that… anyways u will like it, i sure think so

Si miran bien se darán cuenta que este vídeo se grabó especialmente para hacer sobresalir a jhope estos movimientos para JIMIN son simples, como tomarse un vaso de agua. Yo lo siento por JIMIN ya que el tiene que soportar esto, grabar una y otra vez y encima crear equivocaciones para que el otro sobresalga. JIMIN BRILLA CON LUZ PROPIA
.-. esto lo hizo un coreografo, no ellos. Asi que no se hizo con la intencion de hacer sobresalir a nadie... solo es el estilo del coreografo. No entiendo tu take on this. Jimin lo hace muy bien a su estilo

Don't bring stupid solo stan mentality here. The fact that you even made a comment that JIMIN purposely made a mistake so that others would stand out is an actual insult to Jimin's effort! Jimin is a hardworking and perfectionist guy. There is no way someone who cares about the performance like him will make a mistake just because. You are very delusional.
Porque no pasaste el vídeo completo completo, aquí falta por lo menos tres partecitas que no le benefician para nada a jhope, las cuales tiene que ver con su actitud.
