@@dukeg.rabbit368 i would always use prawn suit here since there is not much other possibilities, as cyclops is not very versatile. Its just that at the time of me writing this comment i wouldnt ever take stasis rifle with me because i thought its waste of inventory (ik stupidass decision, in fact i would not even make that weapon at the time and i had no idea how it worked). Now i have succesfully completed subnautica. Btw, i was slightly wrong with one hit thing, it was rather warpers fault when i was trying to escape.
In the scanning entry for Reaper Leviathans it says that they use echolocation to keep their wherabouts and their prey's whereabouts in check. If you can hear it, it can see you.

Oof literally, you have to get at the EXACT position to climb it. Not to close, not to far, not to left, not to right, it’s a hassle and a mess but I still loved the game.

Literally getting a wiring kit was pain in the ass since it required silver, so many other materials for the advanced wiring kit too, it was painful to watch the cuttlefish egg get in the Bio reactor
i have the opposite problem, i have so many rare materials but i always have a problem finding copper and quartz

@@Mood_Lee working through the game, prepping my nerves to go to lost river. i remember when i used to be scared of stalkers, but now i literally live next to them and take their scrap right in front of them. stupid things always take my cameras, but I’m hoping I get used to the leviathans like that, too. maybe we could even play ball! as long as it doesn’t involve my seamoth..
yeah anyways i’m just working on getting the cyclops so i can bring my prawn suit down to the lost river

Helpful tip: if you know you're going to be near crabsquids, rig for silent running, thurn off ALL lights, and use sonar and bottom hull cam

I deal with crabsquids by ramming them a couple times with the cyclops. 2-3 will kill one iirc.
Two more pains: when you have to gather crystalline sulfur and you have to swim into that green acid lake. I hate that so much.
And also when you are far away from "home", in the depths and receive that message informing you that your house ran out of power.
I liked to make mini scanner bases for resources which were basically just a scanner room, a hatch and a solar panel. Got constant messages every night saying how there was no power to the bases I wasn’t currently using

If it can make your life easier, you can make gathering those easier by using propulsion cannon both regular and from the Prawn Suit, you can pick up stuff with them practically extending your pickup radius by 25 meters, how? Just pull the thingy with the laser and left click (I dunno about consoles tho, the button you use to pick up stuff then?), makes gathering so much easier, also bonus points if you bring in a Grav Trap, it also pulls resources
@@bonelesschickennuggets1868, exactly, good advice. Except that PRAWN propulsion arm is almost unusable - it's very hard to grab the thing you've captured.
@@vladvulcan Yeah it’s quite hard to get accustomed to the Propulsion Arm, but I learned to move slightly the camera to pick up items with the regular arms, it’s a bit inconsistent sometimes I just need a little bit of movement others I have to rotate the whole suit just to pick up a piece of copper lmao but at least I’m getting stuff. Is it gimmicky? Yes but I find it oddly satisfying.
There are a lot of painful experiences in this game, but nothing will hurt more than the godforsaken loading screen. I played on console and don’t know if this is a problem on PC, but usually I have to wait 20 min for the game to load and sometimes it will crash on 90% like yours. Thank god they fixed it in Below Zero
It’s due to playing on the Xbox One(I’m guessing)/PS4, loads way faster on PS5 and I’m guessing the Series X/S
The longest loading time I've had is 300s

I had one of worst glitches ever the other day in this game. I was in the Aroura fixing the radiation when a Reaper (which I had messed with on my way in) glitched inside and killed me instantly. Luckly a saved but still strange
reaper glitched inside gun island and it's fins just pipped out of the ground, scared me half to death in a very sterile place

I once collected a lot of copper, I wanted to build something and POOF
It had disappeared
But then the MOMENT you need Titanium all you can find is Copper
The only thing you forgot was when you go to the containment facility in your prawn suit and get randomly stuck in the floors or walls and can't get out. Which means you have to rebuild your prawn suit for about 30 mins of gameplay before you beat the game.
You don’t need to rebuild your prawn, just make sure you bring a grappling arm with you and use it to drag yourself around.
repulsion cannon usually helps in this case
Yeah, I had to use the grappling arm to do just what River said. Now it was about 30 minutes to figure that out, though. Sheesh
You can use the grappling hook to unstuck it, the bigger issue is that other building in the lava zone where your prawn thinks it's on land so it's rendered useless forever.

I had a big problem with stalkers stealing my cameras. All of them did it. One day I got sick of it and proceeded to run one of the little thieving cretins over with my seamoth and killed it. I haven't had issues since, the rest stopped coming near my base. Sometimes I wonder what stopped them; my putting the camera back all the time, or the sight of their friend twitching on the floor after I broke its back. Either way, I'm not complaining.
Had the same exact issue. Wasn’t even in their biome they would move about 100m to grab the camera from my scanner room. On the bright side it gave me plenty of stalker teeth

I have 2 more pains.
The first one was where I knew where I needed to go, I knew where all the reapers were, but I was too scared to leave the safe shallows
Another one was when I tried to go to the mountain island in a prawn suit (yes this is back when I was actually brave) I accidentally strayed too far and missed the island completely, and accidentally fell into the void. I think that experience is what made me such a scaredy cat
The second one is the thing i fear the most. I love exploring with the prawnsuit but yeah. Dangerous

you forget to add when your stasis gun just barely misses the reaper leviathan and you get brutally murdered
I always love seeing people’s reactions when they start picking up tons of blood oil before realizing it’s absolutely huge. Always super funny
The absolut worst thing I experienced was, the very first time I encountered a ghost leviathan. I was traveling around in my seemoth and found my first gel sacks, so I got out, picked some up, I turn around and there it was. So understandably I instantly want to get back into my seemoth, but apparently it somehow glitched through the ocean floor.
So there I was, about 400 meters under water, with a ghost trying to kill me, and my seemoth nowhere to be found...
The pain
Something like that happend to me once, so o was going to lifepod 2 I think and I saw a adult ghost leviathan which took my seamoth down to 15, so I saved but after it destroyed it, load back overs destroyed again, then I finally escaped it and got back to my base
You forgot when you're exiting your seamoth it damages you if you're still moving cuz you're on a rush, and then it kills you in your hardcore world
Cause of Death: *I accidentally ran over myself with a submarine*

omg the part where they got stuck in the mushroom caves is sooo true. happened to me too many times
I love the glitch where the wreck disappears with everything outside. You start looting the crates and poof! You're suddenly trapped with no way out. Another one happened to me on the Aurora. I fell through the floor and had to starve to death to escape. Or how about dying in the jellyshroom cave and losing your seamoth?
Once my cyclops got stuck in safe shallows but it got flug twice sending me far into the ecological dead zone :)
I got my cyclops to fling upwards. It never came back down. I had to build another one.
Lmao fully relate to getting the Cyclops stuck on the coral tubes oof. That took me 2 real hours to to manage to get it out, oof that cyclops was upside down and one time, it was sideways, it was tilted like nothing I’ve ever seen before and when I tried to get my prawn out, it made it worse, I almost lost them two but after 2 hours we made it.
8:25 for someone who managed to beach a cyclopse underwater I feel your pain man.

@@dream_walker9726 yeah, while I was exploring the lost river with a cyclops I was trying to fallowthe walls because of the ghost leviathan, then somehow I get stuck (but nothibg was touching the cyclops), 3 hours later and I still couldn't move it, since I already lost my seamoth I had to spawn in a prawn suit to get out, then disposed of said suit as if nothing happened.

absolutely perfect one time when I left my steam off at the entrance of the snake crab area to get her another powercell somehow she disappears and she wasn't even in the Deep area she was just at the entrance

6:18 This hit me harder than the sea dragon in my first playthroughs. I couldn't find the first lava base for tablet number 1 because when I saw the entrance, I thought It was just another sanctuary for a portal, especially after searching the caves for the first time. and it took me about 3 hours to realize you need to fabricate the second blue tablet.
you forgot the most painful bit of the whole game: watching the sea emperor die in front of you :(
My biggest pain of all time ever in the history of mankind was the scanner room glitch or something like that. The goddamn cameras would never load took me like 20 minutes.
If falling through the floor inches away from the sea emperor on hardcore mode isn't on here...
Exit the game without saving, puts you back to your last save. You might lose progress but you won’t lose your entire world.
A quick way to get stalker teeth is to trap 3 or 4 stalker with a grav trap and drop a shit ton of metal salvage near them, I did that for about ten minutes and got 12 teeth
One time a stalker managed to go under the map with a camera. Now, I can have fun exploring the map with a stalker always chasing my camera.

As someone that likes building bases the titanium is highly relatable, as well as the must build at deeper water while it’s already deep water

for me it was getting lost in the lava zone with my prawn suit and running out of food and water and dying then losing my prawn suit in the active lava zone
I was trying to find to entrance to repair the Aurora, and went underneath to explore the big open belly bit. I thought there might some resources tucked away somewhere. Nah. I fell through a solid platform and became entirely boxed in by invisible walls. My last save was... embarrassingly long ago, so I sat there for what felt like an hour watching my (previously full) hunger go down until I starved to death. Then at least I'd keep my blueprints.
I was literally streaming Subnautica hard mode last night. Had 2 of the 5 materials to wake up the infant sea emperors. Viewer redeemed "epic battle" in the channel rewards, so i had to go fight a sea dragon. Traveled to gun island to teleport, was killed by a warper. So CLOSE to the end 😭😭😭
Am I the only one who only use the Cyclopes like once?

R.I.P to all console players who have to deal with disgusting amounts of frame rate drops on this and below zero. This happens on the Pro and the One X so it's definitely not the operating system. Both consoles run games perfectly that have waaaay higher spec requirements than subnautica
The only time I get frame drops is when I pull out my habitat builder in my base by accident or all 6 of my water filtration machines start at the same time. Aside from that it plays perfectly on my pro.
Helpful tip: if your trying to get stalker tooth, just build a scanner room near a kelp forest, thank me later.

Always had a curiosity about the prawn suit still arm, how does it do like no damage. When you get grabbed by reaper, you stab a 3 way grinder into it's fuking face and you can hear the meat grinding sounds but nothing happens... wth?

When I first started playing, I made the mistake of thinking almost every creature would be nice. When I went into the dead zone and a ghost leviathan came at me I thought "oh, a friend :)" But I quickly found out he ghosties were not my friends. Same with the warpers, thought they'd be nice since they looked human-ish so I swam right up next to one to scan it and he hurt me >:(

These stalkers were just chillin by my base and everytime I went out there was so many stalkers teeth filled up a full 2 lockers with just stalker teeth
I had crafted my first knife on my first survival game, was happy, went out to get supplies

The best biome to build a base in my opinion is Mushroom Forest.
+Shale, Sandstone, Limestone outcrops scattered around
+LITHIUM FOR AFRICA
+Large resource deposits
+Salt to make water
+Table coral, etc at the big mushroom tree
-Not much space
Build on top of the mushrooms.
And not to mention it’s also close to the lost river, which has a lot of titanium and nickel and resources
One time I was in a wreck and there were like 50 crash fish In there, I died instantly
I had to build my cyclops in the fucking void then had to run from 2 ghosties

How about the glitch where the wreck disappears, you drive your seamoth into an open area like an idiot, get trapped half in and half out when the wreck reappears, and you're forced to use the glitch where you use the habitat builder to build a compartment into the side to make it go away so you can free your vehicle before you drown? Good times.
