Hey Jesse for sure! First thing I'd suggest would be to figure out how many carbs you can absorb per hr. This is generally worked out as 1 gram of carbs for every kg of bodyweight. I for example weigh 68km so will aim for 68 grams of carbs. OF COURSE this isn't always realistic out on the road but good to have a target when refuelling at lunch stops etc. In calories I'd be targeting 250-400 calories per hr. WHAT exactly to eat is up to you! I like oat bars (flapjacks) - they're compact, generally mixed with fruit and high in carbs oh and crucially sit fine in the stomach. Would recommend you trial a couple of your favourite snacks out on the bike and see what works! I generally buy from the sport nutrition brand OTE but as you know there's plenty available! Hope that helps - give me a shout if something else pop up AND enjoy what sounds like an EPIC trip!
How you guys structuring your training for long distance events?
Useful tips! Consistency is the KEY
Like the disclamer. If only all “influencers” made such a disclamer the earth would be better. THANK YOU
Nice video!
What was a week of training like for you 1-2 months in advance of a ultra? Thanks! Starting to prep for an 8 stage race in feb…
Just found your channel, top notch. Really resonate with your mental approach. Nice one.
Thanks mate! Appreciate the comment. Some more bits to come as training gets under way again 😆👊
