The never-seen, always invisible, ghostly tax check 😂
People always promise to pay back with tax refund. Once they GRT the tax refund, they want to keep it and don't even attempt a partial payment on their loan. I'll pay when I get my tax refund has been a joke for years. Rarely does anyone actually do it.
LOL! Good one @16MedicRN!!
@@Crazycatlady71So true! The universal excuse! 😆
😂😂😂
I could pay my student loans off 3 times with all of these refund checks that people swear are coming.
The audacity of that man to be there and encourage her to continue saying it was a gift...
A classic criminal dirt bag move.
And now we know why they needed a lawyer. Both a ridiculous
What a piece….
the audacity of a criminal
Clearly he's a scumbag
never tell friends or family about coming into a large amount of money dont do it
As a former bank teller who had to open accounts as well, THIS☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
I normally opened accounts for young people who came into money due to settlements and I’d often see that money (usually in 6 figures) be gone within the year.
I’ll try to plead with them to put some away for college or expenses but at least 90% of the time these 18 year olds would take out large sums to show off or treat their friends. Their parents were no better
You have "more" friends ! HAHA
@@ComaLies225 Your story reminds me of one of my cousin's that I call the "LAWSUIT QUEEN." She has received very close to six figures twice and has spent every penny and now is broke. She always complains about not having money now. Not one penny was put away for a rainy day. Her sister told me one of her purchases was a $5K standing mirror for her bedroom. She should stand in front of it every day and repeat out loud "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the dumbest person of all!!!!"
@@hiyellagalokay that sucks, and I've seen that too, but I loll'd at the end of your story!
@@hiyellagal lmao wow!
didnt anyone try to help her or advise her to save
Anytime someone says “I’ll pay you back with my tax return” RUN as fast as you can.
When they ask, they are so nice, and when they have asked back, they become vicious and ungrateful.
they ur best friend when they need help. when they get it you are trash after
@bubbaXzone sadly, humans sometimes make lost your willing to give a hand to anyone, because when the mask dropped, it's scary.
I learn one very impressive lesson. When you give friends or family money don't expect it for them to pay you back.
Unless you have it in writing and say "you understand that this loan creates a *legal binding*, and should be paid in full by Jan 2025, with monthly payments of 50 starting from 1st of Jan 2024". Ppl just can't communicate.
@@jemmaj2919Exactly. Never had a problems because it's in writing.
Honestly, it takes 5 minutes to print out and fill in a promissary note. Should be easy and straightforward.
I never loan money to anyone. If I can afford to freely give, then I freely give.
Yup. Repayment is a pleasant surprise.
Imagine this woman a friend and a visitor offered to help out this couple and their legal problems that probably kept him out of jail or other problems, and she decides to stiff the plaintiff with excuses and then converted it to it was a gift status. The nerve of some people. JJ gave her a quick reality check
And the ungrateful loser boyfriend kept whispering lies to her. Some people are just not worth it
Sounds like a family of illegitimate people.
The nerve
You know they said "birds of a feather" she probably just as bad as him
Plaintiff needs to rethink her friendship with the defendant. Defendant is an ungrateful liar. Best not to loan friends and family money.
Never lend money that you aren't okay with never getting back.
i think most i would lend maybe $50
MAYBE!
if i were to loan $50
i am doing a written contract
clearly stating what i want, and what i expect!
well maybe not a written contract for a smaller $$ but if it was like over $100 def
Amazing what people suddenly "need" when a friend comes into money.
The defendant's actions are deplorable and grotesque. I couldn't imagine being that void of human decency. To stand there beside a life long friend and repeatedly disrespect them is mind-boggling
Why would her friend just give her 1900? There is no way it was not a loan..
My best friend bought me a minivan. 6k. I didn't have a running car appropriate for my family. I tried giving her money on multiple occasions. She refused to take it. Some people are just that kind!
@@frigid4real apparently this was not the case.
@@carribgirl007😮😅
@@frigid4realunless the friend is a millionaire I wouldn’t be able to accept a gift that big
@@frigid4real I think people need to communicate better and have things in writing when loaning or gifting (well no need to have anything writing as a gift)
but actually what if your friend bought you a car for 6k
and then all of a sudden you had a falling out and no longer friends
what if she came back saying.....that 6k car was a loan not a gift.
yea everything should be in writing and communicate where the person understands crystal clear!
I would NEVER ask my friends to borrow money. Never, EVER. I would get another job (or two), sell things, collect cans - whatever I needed to, but no way in hell would I borrow money from a friend (especially to help a loser boyfriend).
Not many people have pride
I would ask bc things can be dire but it IS a loan
In my mind, if I can't create/earn it 100% on my own, I don't deserve it. If I still want it, I need to reevaluate how I choose to live my life, make my money, and spend my time. Nobody owes anybody a damn thing regardless of how much they have and how much you don't (as one of those who never "had it"). Blows my mind that the vast majority of people consider that perspective harsh, cruel, and inhumane yet think it's okay to steal from stores because they can afford the loss; You're still a thief, and objective reality alone should weigh on you GREATLY.
Bruh I'd NEVER ask to borrow money from anyone but my parents but EVEN THEN I'd have to be so desperate.
I know that if I need money, I can just wait a month or two for my paycheck and work it out from there. I don't ask friends. And when work colleagues offer to help me out, I either say no or make it a point to pay them back ASAP. But having the audacity to be friends and need help and ASKING for 2K and promising to pay it back and giving every reassurance. Then when your business is resolved and you're no longer stuck in an emergency thanks to the kindness of a friend - and just saying "Huh? What money? I don't owe you anything - it was a gift" baffles me. How can you be that kind of person and turn your back on someone who genuinely wanted to help and see you thrive when they probably can't afford to and abuse that kindness. Why is it that helping people has to be a risk?
Ungrateful friend
I’ve binged enough of these to recognized a very common defense among the JJ scumbags: “I only promised to pay them back after they started harassing me! I would have said anything to get them to stop!”
Always in tandem with "They never expected me to pay it back; it was a gift." Then why did you have to lie and say you'd pay it back if they always intended it to be a gift?
That'll do
@@johnsmi213and notice when JJ asks for proof it was mentioned as a gift they've either lost their phone or the texts show there was always agreement to pay back 'just never when'
and what's messed up here is if you look at the defendant's texts, it looks like she initiated all the paying back discussions. i didn't see the plantiff asking "where's my money?" just a long time friend saying to another friend, don't worry i got you. so something changed her mind..like yall said, it was probably that great guy of hers
Uh, one look at her “ fiancé “ and I know she’s in for a rough ride.
and, what was it? 2 or 3 kids.
@@citytrees1752 3 kids
I don't get people. You don't come to court and lie to JJ about how it wasn't a loan, when you know there are text messages out there proving otherwise. Open and shut case, defendant looks foolish.
Because they are getting paid? xP For what I understand, each gets 5000USD, and what they loose in the case goes to the other party. Why they fight for it as they do. They get money, but can loose it too.
@@AnarchistPoopwell yea, there is that motivation I suppose. I guess maybe I'm different I wouldn't take a check to look foolish in front of millions of people.
@@PowerDiva well, a responsible honorable person would own up
Her boyfriend was wrong, it wasn't months later that the text happened. Which shows she listens to him too much, the guy who needs a criminal lawyer. I would hazard a guess that he told.her not to bring proof because he wasn't capable of seeing that the plaintiff probably would.
They think if they conceal evidence they'll get off....but the other party will have it!
Unless the plaintiff and Defendant are on it and planned this case to get free money? I wonder...
It’s always a gift😂. A criminal attorney is not really gift material.
It never ceases to amaze at the ability of deadbeats to "smell out" money that others seem to have.
The fact that she asked a friend for money she and her criminal bf didn't have is all we needed to know about the type of friend she is
This is exactly why I do not loan anyone any money anymore. Learned that lesson a long time ago. If I'm approached, I just say "no". I'm not a bank. I'll give money when I want to, but no loans. And I make it very clear.
I agree 100%! Whenever anyone asks to borrow money from me, I quickly yet firmly say, “I’m sorry but I don’t loan money “. They usually start telling me more about their situation and I then reiterate my position by stating the same comment again while looking them directly in their eyes. Twice is about what it takes for most people. Apparently, word has gotten around because I’m rarely asked for money now.
@@a32tl you gotta do that! or people just walk over you! You were firm, and direct!
peoples feelings are not your responsibility
you can't control their feelings
they control their feelings
you just state boundries on what you want!
ppl explaining their situation as a sob story to try and persudade you to give them money as a last resort!
People do not pay for their friend's criminal boyfriend to get bail or a lawyer. They could have got a legal aid attorney if they truly could not pay for one. Friends may offer to loan you the money but when it is for a criminal I would be very careful as this case demonstrates.
Dropping the "I"ve come into a large sum of money" line should've been followed by "and I'd like to keep it."
or just dont let ppl know your financial business
Shameful to have to be sued in front of 50 million people when you know you defaulted on a loan.
Banks lend money. Not your friends.
Right
Bank operate fractional banking to create 000 on a screen. For every deposit of $1, the banks creates $9 from nowhere and lends $10, and charges interest on $10
Former friends do !😃
The classic 'loan' versus 'gift' case is like standard issue Judge Judy.
JJ’s starting with the defendant … we know what that usually means
It never ceases to amaze at how no matter what court show I watch, the defendant is in trouble and needs money, but the minute that it's time to pay up , it's all of the sudden a gift
Never lend a friend money. It rarely works out for the best
You know why I've lived a happy life regarding my money? I only let people borrow $20 max. There is no negotiation. That's my best offer. You want more money, go get a loan. And if they don't pay it back, it's fine, it's just $20. But I'll never give them money again.
smart! $20 is a great investment to see who u could trust or see the persons true colors
Never, ever loan money you can’t afford to lose. There is always a good chance you’ll see little or any of that money paid back. The defendant thought that since her friend came into the money, she wouldn’t fight for it back. Good on the plaintiff for filing a suit against her.
Did you guys see the text where the defendant practically says she can’t pay her right away but yet she wants to go on vacation 😂😂😂
What a great friend. Sheesh. I'm sure the boyfriend is a piece of work, too.
Most people that borrow money and promise to pay you back with their tax return also owe money to other people who they made the same promise to. If anyone ever says they'll pay you back with their tax return; either dont' lend them money or assume that money will never be repaid.
Revolving credit. Borrow from every1 to pay the last person, but never make an effort to pay it back yourself.
Learning this the hard way
Why would someone give you $1,900 as a gift and you got a man?
10 million ppl watched her try to sςαm a friend who helped her when she was in need
If you help people when they need it, they will hurt you later
@@sashawwefans6394this is very, very true. I’ve had to learn this lesson more than once.
Never loan money to a FRIEND. If their family or a bank wont loan them, in this case, $1900 dollars, why should you take on the risk and hassle of becoming a bank and having to chase after your money. The most I've ever loaned & lost was $150 and that was over a decade ago. I have never loaned money to a friend since. It's either a gift with no expectation of repayment or it's not happening. And yet, people STILL do it.
Another “it’s a gift” defense. Oh and the kicker…I only said I’d pay it back just to get them off my back.
Friends and money don’t mix!!!
how dumb lol she said she will pay it back and now she claims it's a gift lol so dumb
If someone promise to pay with their tax return... u ain't getting ur money back!!
Judge Judy You're Awesome ❤😊
"Came into some money" = That money is disposable . Can't stand ppl like her. Then had the audacity to say she needed to buy gifts for her 3 children but was faced with the possibility "terrible things could happen to her "fiancee" 🙄🙄 She made a huge mistake choosing that loser over a good friend
I like how people say at this point I'll say anything because she was harassing me🤔 now i feel I don't have to pay her back😄💸
Never loan out money to anyone, their true character will surely show its ugly side.
Unless I win the lotto I would NEVER be GIFTING $1900 to either friend or family. The defendants sense of entitlement to their friend's windfall is despicable.
I feel the defendant told the plaintiff, take me to JJ to get your money back , we will both get a free trip out of it. They didnt seem to hurt about this.
Probably
Their texts were civil but they never once look at each other. I don't think the friendship is healed.
1:53 "try to prevent all of these horrible things from happening" You mean justice when someone commits a criminal offense? Sounds like the charges were serious. Maybe don't do stupid things to find yourself charged in the first place.
That’s exactly why I stopped being nice and lend people money. They always do that. At least the people I helped.
People like her will make it difficult to want to loan money out
Loser fience > good friend who tries to help
Another..”it’s a gift” defense. Oh and the “I’ll start playing you back” was just to get them off my back because they are harassing me.
It makes no sense to me how people would think that other people are responsible for their attorney fees or bail money or impound money. Even if they don't explicitly say, hey you have to pay me back. Why would the plaintiff be responsible for that?? Smh.
What a liar?! A blatant lie! Then going to say I guess so! Ma’am you have zero integrity. Must be careful who you call a friend and definitely don’t tell anyone when you have a financial increase.
They both need to trim their food budget!
Judge Judy stooping to say "moola" makes this whole case worth it.
Defendant tried to lie to JJ but the plaintiff had the receipts.
I really loathe when people say it is Christmas time as a reason not to pay someone back. First, do not buy gifts for anyone if you do not have the money, Second: no regard for the lender who may also want to buy Christmas gifts.
I don't know why friends do this to each other.
STOP TELLING PEOPLE YOU HAVE IR COMING INTO MONEY
what's the quickest way to lose friends ? loan them money
Exactly why I don’t stay with friends I keep to myself, and I don’t tell people if I have or don’t have money
It doesn't make sense to have somebody to pay for the lawyer knowing that you can't pay fm the lawyer yourself and knowing that you may not be able to pay that person back so what's the point even having the person to pay the lawyer for you.
The defendant was making alot of excuses and she knew she owed her friend that money back. What she thought because she was her friend and she didn't have to pay the money back since they known each other for a long time, come on now bunch of who shot john.
Why pretend like this was a gift? This is your friend!!?
3:08 Bill is not working and Justin is not paying support. She’s so stressed that she can’t wait to go on vacation!!!
I’d like to know with what money when she still owes her friend. Wow. People have no priorities.
would be surprised if that winner isn't a solo mother by now
How are you gonna lie when there’s text msgs 🙄
I’ve never heard of anyone willing to pay for someone’s legal fees and not expect to be paid back - most especially when it’s for a criminal offense! The plaintiff should have said NO right off the bat but the defendant, IF the friendship was important to her, would never have asked in the first place!!!
Why does the defendant look like the other mother from Coroline ?? Those button eyes and the hair lmao
Oh, Yeah. This happens to me all the time. Someone gives me a thousand dollars in an envelope with a bow on it. I turn around and here's someone else handing me several hundred dollars. They always say, "Go ahead, take it. It's a gift. I don't need it back."
Don't borrow money from ANYONE!
Don't
It sucks that the show pay the money when someone lose
Instead of repaying the debt, she went on Judge Judy. I would consider this selling out my human dignity.
Never loan more money than you can afford to lose...sad, but true.
Imagine getting to fly all the way out to California to be on Judge Judy as a plaintiff, suing someone, only to have to speak a total of 15 seconds or less and win the case. 😂
WHY DO I HAVE TO HOUND YOU FOR MY MONEY?!! Then when I do…you start getting pissed off(the nerve) and decide “you know what, because you keep calling,I’m not paying you back”🤯…
Smh
What’s sad is the court will pay it they paid everything the flight etc!
If you do not want to lose friends do not lend them money.
Another loan and gift case haha.
Never loan people money you CANNOT afford to lose!!!
DONT loan / lend ANYONE $$$$ …. You will be the BAD person in the end 👀
Old family saying..never loan or go into business with family or friends with the expectation of repayment. It sours the relationship.
You don't need a friend like that , help her out and she doesn't pay you back . Loser !
Happy Holidays!🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I could see the friend was ashamed when JJ say you knew this was a loan,JJ didnt allowed the excuses , she just kept reading the texts.
Never give money to friends or family. You will never see it again
This is why I NEVER loan anyone money unless I'm not expecting to see it again.
Short and Sweet
In the first text, defendant says “I’m sorry to even ASK you.” Evidence of a loan.
In the second text, defendant says “I can’t wait to go on vacation.” Evidence of lousiness.
THIS is why you don't loan money to friends!
Why does every defendant say the same thing 😂…like people just gift thousands of dollars.
I’m sorry, Christmas gifts are NOT more important than taking care of your responsibilities!! “Christmas time” is not a defense.
If someone truly cares about you, they never ask you for money
The old it's Christmas time excuse. If you can't afford the material part Christmas, then it's cancelled
In my years I can honestly say quite a few people have gifted me money for one reason or another, but a $1900 cash gift?! 😂😂😂
She wrote Promise to Pay # whatever next to each promise!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When they say, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
That’s what her(plaintiff) “friend” did.
I got one look at the fiance and immediately knew the "legal trouble" he was in was criminal😅
Long time friends at the buffet table!!
im sure that friendship is over 😂😂
