That was pretty cool. Everyone says Cummins are so easy to transplant and get running but really the 7.3 doesn’t need much either apparently (yes it does need the computer).
Ya I'll have to see if I can find one iv got a engine I would like to start up before I pull the truck apart somthing like this would be worth some money to people that's doing engine swaps and they want to hear it run before hand I know I would buy one but no one makes stuff like this
@@chewy-bu1oy that’s true. Before I did this little project I was looking online to see if I could use a spare pcm and just apply power to a few pin but I didn’t find anything easy for me to follow. I am no electrician after all
@CleffersGarage ya same here I want to do this but I'm scared I would screw it up some how I may find somone that would make one and I just buy it for a few 100 or so
Pretty genius using the obs as a parent for the replacement engine
That was really helpful! I appreciate you taking the time to upload and explain everything…

Thank you!
What if I don’t have a electric fuel pump
I think it would still work fine. Just put your supply and return in a bucket of diesel and prime the fuel bowl.
MFE!!
Yes sir!
Does anyone know if the harness wiring an IDM is the same from the 98' to the 99' besides the extra solenoid to the return turbo cool tube?
