My determination is not do, Full Time support, active reserve. Support our family full time at my command,. And every reserve function. My determination is to do 30yrs plus.
Loved it, I worked as a Phyiscal Security Specialist, with my Criminal Justice background and Experience. Great addition to my Command. Mission Accomplished 200%.
EN on a ship vs EN in the reserves are two different things. I'm a DC. I'm active duty. I was on a destroyer for 4 1/2 years. I know what you mean about the work and the people 😂.
Love all the info! Thank you for putting it out there. Did 5 years AD as an EM in Norfolk, moving back and possibly joining reserves there. What does annual training look like for you in SurgeMain as an engineer? For a volunteer mobilization, is there any billets for Norfolk area that just work there for the mobilization period or are they mostly oconus type of thing?
@@Toph456 I'll create a video to specifically talk about my experience on my first AT in my new unit (SURGEMAIN). MOBS are anywhere. Some sea some land. Go on zipserve or ask in the Navy Reserve Community group to see who has orders in Norfork.
@@Chicago_Outfit Unfortunately, this is usually NOT the case. 1, you don't get paid upfront. Sucks when you have responsibilities prior to Navy. 2, IF you have dependents then you should get BAH. There could be other extenuating circumstances.
Thank you for your videos; please continue. Regarding the reserves, can you apply for a billet outside of your rate? Also, is it possible to receive orders for A school, such as HM, if you are an MA, particularly when HM is understaffed?
@@BrianWesson8 You pay grade to apply but you may not be accepted. Most billets have a requirement for certain Trainings or C-schools. You CAN apply for same rate but different paygrade.
I have 2 questions. 1) I just enlisted as reserve and I plan on (depending how the nxt 2 yrs pan out) going active duty. My contract was 8yrs but just 6 yrs served. So if I switch to active duty after 2 yrs and that leaves me with 4yrs would I just finish out my contract as active or would I be given a new contract? 2nd question) to qualify for the VA loan it’s 6 good yrs served or more than 90 days served active. Does that have to be consecutive or let’s say I do 2 deployments that equal out to 90 days does that count and therefore qualifying me for the VA loan?
@@Talib-904 Bah is for active duty tome served. There is BAH Partial for certain situations but NOT for regular Reservist not on an active duty status.

@@aj-joness You would be given a new Active Duty contact. Regarding the VA home loan guarantee, it's cumulative time.
also, how can you deploy in the reserve if want to do it all time like IA or on a ship
@@BrianWesson8 Yes, most Deployments aka MOBILIZATION requires you to finish the order, go home, then go on the next one.
Hello, do LS reservist have shore/sea rotations?
No, Reserve Sailors do not have shore/sea rotation.
