Spent two weeks searching every rabbit hole in the U.S. for one of these and got one yesterday! Already have a drum magazine, folding stock, and optics mount heading my way.
@pauldvorsky1969 I have had zero issues, and I have run it hard. It has been 100% reliable. I did change to different mags. Kalashnikov USA is no longer in business, so I am glad I got one.

Have to give credit where due - this is a beautifully realized version of an AK. Well done. I used a 74 during my service and using the AK build as a tactical shotgun is a great idea. Looks extremely nice too. Very impressed.
Surprisingly you can own one of these with the appropriate firearms licence in the U.K. They seen to shoot most shotgun shells, and knew a guy who used it for over a year without cleaning it with no stoppages. In the U.K. I think you should consider having one of these.
Just got the KS-12T and found that with 2 3/4 00 Buck and single slug I had to use the L gas setting. Wouldn’t cycle on H. Very nice gun and got very tight groups with single slug at 25 yards.

Honestly, I've had several of these box magazine fed AK style shotguns over the years and hated them all because they were all so finicky. Get a Girsan or stoeger m3000 with an extended magazine tube and don't look back. You'll be glad you did. If you are really are set on having a box fed shotgun, I've had next to zero issues with the panzer bp12. If you want the ultimate tactical shotgun, go with the SR1216, mine is not picky at all, and you get 16 rounds every magazine.
If it’s 100 reliable and easy to swap mags then it could be a good argument for ultimate home defense gun(inside the home). I know over penetration with mag 00, but man it’d put down a bad guy like no other.
I was in a pawn shop today and they had just got in a K-USA Komrad 12. They had no idea how to log it into there logbook, pistol, shotgun or something else? I told them it was a "firearm" or AOW, not a shotgun. It was unfired but preowned with the hard case, papers, tags plus two 5 rd. mags, they were asking $999.00 as 3/24.
So am I right to think that in California this would be a bolt action setup and not semi automatic? And how easy is it to covert back to semi if I move to Texas?
I use a shotgun for home defense, at least one of my home defense weapons. Personally, I wouldn’t use this as a home defense shotgun or any other semi auto shotgun. I use an 870 primarily because I want to keep inconvenient failures as unlikely as possible.
huh, mine has the gas settings as "1" and "2" also all but 1 of the QD slots don't work : | - thankfully the one that works is the only one I want to use but it has me uneasy I wonder if I got an older production ?

Saiga makes a 20 and a 25 and it is compatible with this shotgun. I haven't been able to find a 50 rd, and I don't know why you would want one. Just the weight would make it impractical.

I am now just getting your notification from TH-cam..😠 Nice review my brother I bought one and I am very pleased with the ks12 however I do like my Sega a little bit better. I suggest that everyone start buying ammo big time we can't hardly find it anywhere anymore, not looking good.
I notice there is no hold open on the last round. So that you have to shoot an empty chamber.. Then pull the action back, lock it. then load your next mag, then drop your action.. Not a problem but will definitely slow you down for a 3 gun shotgun.
excellent video sir, looks like this particular shotgun likes the ammo you were using, me personally i use federal target 3 dram no 7 shot, and winchester aa 2 & 3/4 no. 8 shot shells. my modded vepr-12 will reliably eat 2 & 3/4 dram winchester aa ammo as long as i hold it securely against my shoulder. most russian shotguns can be picky regarding ammo so its always a good idea to try at least 3-5 different types of cheap walmart "valpack" ammo, i normally buy my ammo at walmart because its cheap, close to me and the ammo can be purchased in 100 round "bricks" so i dont have to buy single 20 round boxes. 👍👍👍
Nice. I have a Saiga but mine isn't reliable at all. Really bad with low brass. Better with high bit still not great. I wonder how the new shorty KUSA is? I think it is called a Komrad
Get online and go to Carolina shooting sports. Order a Saiga reliability kit. New puck,recoil spring etc. I did and I now get 100%reliability. Before I bought the kit I had some issues with low brass. NOT ANYMORE !👍
With CSspecs steel mags I can load with the bolt closed easily. Those plastic locking lug mags are for the range only. My KS12 puts my SDS Lynx12 3G to shame. Way better finish and materials. My Lynx bolt carrier cracked in half after only 100 2&3/4 Federal slugs..no support or response from SDS..no bolt carriers available on their website either. It looked like matchbox car metal but wanna replace to sell it. I have 300 slugs, 500 buckshot, 1000 birdshot through my KS12 now...& not one issue. I do miss the bolt hold open button, the left hand charging, and the hinged top cover of the Lynx though.
I picked mine up a few months ago but haven't made it out to the range with it yet. Trying to limit my range trips due to ammo shortage. I wanted to pick your brain a bit. 1) How are the gas settings holding up? Issues feeding lighter loads etc? 2) In this review he mentioned the dust cover being tight and solid. Mines seems pretty loose. Is this an issue for you as well? Thanks
@@m.danielmills7091 when I first got the KS12 I polished the feed ramp some, threw in a Carolina Shooting Supply gas puck I had and ran 200rnds of 00 buckshot before trying birdshot. It's been running great on the correct gas settings. I clean it every 100rnds or so. My top cover was extremely tight fitting when I got it and has remained so all year. They'll probably just warranty a replacement top cover for you.. they're in stock on their website too. Recently just got the CSS aluminum handguard for it and it's cool looking but definitely gets hotter to hold than the stock polymer one. I'll try some rail covers. This shotgun has been very reliable for me but feels like it has more recoil than my Beretta 1301. It makes me smile though and can dump rounds faster.

@@shanemac75 Ok thx. I'm definitely look into some of what you mentioned. All the walmarts here in California have completely shut down selling ammo. They're out of the business indefinitely. If you get a chance try some of the black aces 00 buck. They rounded out the top of the shells to make them feed more reliably for semi auto and mag fed shotguns.

You can build an ar with the right specs now no point to buy the saint built my ar pistol or sbr what ever u call it for 600 so its up to u an ar 15 is more versatile but that shotgun is a monster

If shoot low powered shells in the high setting it might not cycle because the high setting limits the amount of gas. If you shoot high powered shells in the low setting you are allowing excessive gas and the recoil will be greater, and you will also accelerate wear and tear on the shotgun.
I'd see if there is an obstruction in the gas hole and the puck slides smoothly..run a brass brush through the gas tube. Also make sure the gas adjustment knob is screwed all the way in before you back it out to one of the two settings. If that doesn't work send it back for repair...or try Carolina Shooting Supply enhanced gas puck and low power spring. I have them in mine, a 4position gas adjust, polished the hammer and bottom of the bolt, and it runs everything.

I was looking at Gun Zone's offer on Gunbroker today, which is what caused me to search for videos on TH-cam. I'd like to know how many rounds ya'll fired through this shotgun during your evaluation of it, and did you have any malfunctions?
Could you test one of these $160 UHMW-PE MICH 2000B Level IIIA helmets from Hong Kong and China that are all over ebay now, while a real MICH 2000B costs $400? I suspect they're bogus.
The Russian Saiga 12 was never made with steel mags. Kalashnikov USA is making the exact same Russian gun - but "Made in USA" so similar glass filled polymer mags with steel feed lips. Their website used to show some clips of their USA factory. Better quality, better service and better business than buying the discontinued Chinese gun.
Ive seen several guys post on the forums about their Saiga 12 bolts cracking. SDS lynx 12's doing the same thing as well. Cracked bolts. I wonder how this holds up in the long run..

How come they don't offer the 20ga anymore? [Yes, I know, a 16ga would be ideal, but I've only ever seen a buckshot load in that size once...] Anyway, 12ga is just too much for most folks to have fast followup shots. I'm a LES guy, so I'm not concerned, but what about the wife or teenagers? They need to bring back the 20ga semiauto to rule the home defense market...

To clean the gas tube I think I used a 20 gauge brush or cotton swab, it fits good inside the tube.
Easy off oven cleaner should take the burnt on carbon off the tube with out alot of scrubbing,1 spray 2 wait 3 wipe.

Ts- 12 is a rip off from the sr1216, which is a way better shotgun than the ts-12

What would happen if you shoot buck or high brass on low setting and low brass on high setting?
If shoot low powered shells in the high setting it might not cycle because the high setting limits the amount of gas. If you shoot high powered shells in the low setting you are allowing excessive gas and the recoil will be greater, and you will also accelerate wear and tear on the shotgun.
What the best round to break it in cause mine won’t cycle I want bird shot But even 1 ounce slugs have not been cycling
I'd see if there is an obstruction in the gas hole and the puck slides smoothly..run a brass brush through the gas tube. Also make sure the gas adjustment knob is screwed all the way in before you back it out to one of the two settings. If that doesn't work send it back for repair...or try Carolina Shooting Supply enhanced gas puck and low power spring. I have them in mine, a 4position gas adjust, polished the hammer and bottom of the bolt, and it runs everything.
If it's a feeding problem try the all steel CSspecs mags. They're all I use now.

The lack of a bolt hold open on a magazine fed shotgun, plus, not having the ability to load it on a closed bolt. It's a monstrosity of a range toy

Why not steel magazines?
The Russian Saiga 12 was never made with steel mags. Kalashnikov USA is making the exact same Russian gun - but "Made in USA" so similar glass filled polymer mags with steel feed lips. Their website used to show some clips of their USA factory. Better quality, better service and better business than buying the discontinued Chinese gun.

Ive seen several guys post on the forums about their Saiga 12 bolts cracking. SDS lynx 12's doing the same thing as well. Cracked bolts. I wonder how this holds up in the long run..
I have friends with Saigas. No cracked bolts in all the years so far...

How come they don't offer the 20ga anymore? [Yes, I know, a 16ga would be ideal, but I've only ever seen a buckshot load in that size once...] Anyway, 12ga is just too much for most folks to have fast followup shots. I'm a LES guy, so I'm not concerned, but what about the wife or teenagers? They need to bring back the 20ga semiauto to rule the home defense market...
