If not for running into a prime Olajuwon and Jordan, these Malone-Stockton and Barkley led Suns teams likely win a ring. That’s how fierce the competition was back in the 90s.
Watching this butresses the point that Isiah Thimas and Bill Walton made about the mail man. Sometimes he gets too passivenin decisive moments....guess thats why he lost to MJ and the dream at their primes. Infeel the Bad Boy Pistons would have also beaten them ina 4 game series

@@PIP...33 I only need 1 stat : Hakeem never scored 50 maybe once in career. Wilt average 50 entire year. Yes he is incredible defender and footwork but lets not forget Horry Elie saved him in clutch and he never played 8 hall of famers like Wilt. Biggest Hakeem success came 1986 when Sampson demolished Jabbar and Dream was PF. I doubt Hakeem could be good as prime Jabbar or Wilt because at age 35 he was done despite having Barkley and Drexler he lost vs underdog Sonics and Jazz. Wilt lost only vs superteams in playoffs.
@@perditadurango9699 SCORING REALLY HURT HIS CASE CAUSE ALL GREAT CENTERS LED NBA IN PPG. WILT IS BEST. ADMIRAL , SHAQ TOO. NOW EVEN INJURED EMBIID SCORED 35 PPG. I MEAN HAKEEM WAS ALL AROUND BUT WHEN U NEED POINTS AND DEFENSE WILT IS BEST. HOLD EVERY RECORD IN HISTORY.
@@PIP...33 It really does. And I love him but he is not guy with any record or stat in history. While Wilt is number 1 in ppg, rpg, bpg, mpg. Not even close. Case is closed Olajuwon is 2nd best but maybe even behind Jabbar cause Wilt is GOAT.
Thats why Dream is better than Jordan. Cause he won here vs 2 HOF's . MJ was never able to carry team alone. At least Pippen carry by some point. But if u want to start franchise u choose Hakeem not 1 stat padder MJ. Everyone can score 30 ppg but only rare guys can be all around team players. We see here Hakeem score very low PPG, but other things he do makes team far better even if they are role players. MJ is most overrated player.

@@PIP...33 Horry Kenny Elie Bullard Cassell and Vernon literally cant miss from 3. U cant even send double team on Hakeem. I still think Drexler and Barkley dont fit to Rudy T's playbook. They were more danger with role players cause everyone knew their job.
@@Celtics6-0vsMonkeyJordan POSSIBLE. BECAUSE SUPERSTARS NEED HIGH USAGE. THEY LOST BALL MOVEMENT AND EVERYONE LOST RHYTHM OR GETTING COLD ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF BARKLEY.
@@PIP...33 Barkley totally messed up playbook. It was original inside out with very quick ball movement and quick post up by Hakeem . He touch every 1st ball if double team comes or fast trap, he quick pass to 1st open guy that player either shoot or make extra pass. But that all was gone because of high usage in the post by Chuck and Drexler slash ability. We rare see in 90s other than TMC that any team have 3 or 4 snipers from 3.
Hakeem was unstoppable that year …
Yes he was
Was on a mission in '94
He was the king
Olajuwon was the dream

Very true. Yet, these casuals and talking heads today will say this era is watered down.

Stockton's flying elbow at 7.30 belongs in the WWE!
😂😂
This was also the same night as Game 1 of the soon-to-be legendary Rangers/Canucks Stanley Cup Finals
Hakeem Olajuwon won this one on one matchup in defense and efficiency.
*The best Center, Power Forward, and Point Guard of the 90s are on that court.*
Charles Barkley is nowhere to be seen.

He was tough
Love this classic purple Jazz uniform b4 they switched to their mountain jersey.
Those were the days. Karl forever.
In the MJ 90s era, Olajuwon was the 2nd best player, then Malone
Malone was a walking bucket and turnover at the same time
