CC looked so much better! Relaxed and smiling! Great to see! So did Sides and Mitchell. Some needed down time after a truly BRUTAL schedule and an unprecedented amount of pressure and external noise. There are a number of other non-basketball good deeds Clark has done for the community. Never spoke a negative word against anyone. If that's not humble, I dunno what is.
I have watched Caitlin for years and the thing that strikes me the most is she is not the confident, cocky, game loving player we saw at Iowa. She seems exhausted both mentally and physically. They need to get Monika Czinano on this team stat! They could use another Big and Monika and Caitlin worked magic together. And Monika would never let Caitlin down on the floor or off for that matter. She would have Caitlin's back when needed plus she would give Caitlin the kick in the pants when she needed that too! If you watch her passing videos, she's passing the ball before the player is even open, when they break open the ball is there for them That takes practice time which the Fever hasn't had, The other players aren't expecting the passes a lot of the time and she gets charged with another turnover when they can't handle it or miss it all together. Hopefully after this week and a few practices they start to click.
I honestly think she has bothered by her ear injury, which I think happened in the first half of the game though she wasn't treated until the second half. She was shaking her head in the 2nd quarter as if something was wrong with her head. If you can't hear properly you worry about serious damage to your hearing, and your balance and shot might even be a little off.
At the end of that stretch of games you could see the arch of everyones' long shots coming down because their legs were used up. It's hard to beat them up for missing long twos and threes. Now, with rest, those open shots should start falling again. That scoring will help keep them in games.

when the WNBA decides to stop playing "All Star Wrestling" and demand the umps to make the right calls and punish the players making cheap shot on other players..then things might change. I have to admit after watching all star wrestling as a kid and watching some guy grab a folding chair and beat somebody with it..I'm thinking this is the next step unless they turn things around..

Expecting Aaliyah Boston to be an enforcer shows the ignorance people have for her character and attitude. Dawn Staley even said, had it been AB in the scuffle with LSU, she wouldn't have provoked more confrontation, she'd try to be diplomatic. Its not her character to be an enforcer. CC is going to have to learn to send a message herself or teams will still try her. I don't condone foul play but she has to let other players know, no tolerance for the bullshi.. when it happens.
I agree 100 on AB. You can't make someone that way. I do think, though, they need a veteran who fits this tougher mentality. You can't really have stars being their own enforcers, especially when they aren't physically imposing.
CC did stand up for herself when that Vivian girl puncher her in the chest. Got her 3rd technical foul. The officials sure are strange, somebody must have already submitted the video from Adrienne Ross's channel to the W about it. Maybe now that the Fever have time to breathe, the team can do a compilation of the uncalled fouls, too.
How is CC supposed to “let them know”? She’s breathes wrong and gets a technical. I think she did what she can do for now by saying she knows she’s gonna take hard hits and is trying not to respond because the refs just see players’ retaliation and punish that. That was about as damning a comment on the officiating as you could imagine.

Starts with the piss poor refs. I see it in all the games, not just the Fevers games. Last night I saw a layup while hitting the defender in the mouth with a closed fist slap. Bloody and on the ground, the refs review was only a T, not thrown out of the game. Joke.......The NBA would be fist fighting if any cheap shots happened like this. In a short time, we will see fist fights in the W and viewers will leave.
Coach Sides "we get down when things aren't going our way." That's your job, to not let your players "get down" and to inspire, love and motivate them and stay encouraging and positive. Coach Bluder managed it.
Individually this team is incredibly talented. Once they gel, they will raise the game. Mitchell and Smith rock together! Wallace's energy is incredible. Samuelson shows up and make the play. Boston is a GOAT in the making once she's comes out of her shell. Love her! Wheeler, Hull, Jackson and the team are agile contenders. I also think this team is classy and keeping it real.

Nobody else is being relentlessly assaulted like Clark and ai did not see it last year at all and nobody guards anyone else full court or double team on anyone and I was watching every game fully noticing everything! Reece got 1 assault for her trash mouth but asked for it though that was very wrong too! But it’s not happening to all rookies or Mitchell either! She is lying! She isn’t supporting Clark at all and it sickens me! I prob would have flattened that thug for assaulting my teammate! Somebody pls ask Mitchell why she doesn't pass the ball to CC. And pls remind the coach CC22 should be The point guard. Fever org, you have this golden opportunity to call out the bad officiating, excessive physicality, and unsavory behavior being rationalized and tolerated as "competitiveness" and "physicality" that has been the WNBA for decades. It ruins the integrity of the sport and the enjoyment of fans, esp. parents bringing their kids to watch. It's not ok to normalize aggression and lawless behavior in sports, much less women's sports. Upskill the refs or hire better ones, and remind all the players to play Professional Women's Basketball, not men's rugby.

when the WNBA decides to stop playing "All Star Wrestling" and demand the umps to make the right calls and punish the players making cheap shot on other players..then things might change. I have to admit after watching all star wrestling as a kid and watching some guy grab a folding chair and beat somebody with it..I'm thinking this is the next step unless they turn things around..
Physical is one thing, cheap shots are not required to make a point, leave the extra circular for the wrestling ring, hockey game or rugby.

That, she has taken to an Art Form, but coaching a Winning Team? That She Ain't got a clue about, and doesn't really act like she wants to "know from nothin", about, but somehow she managed to Pay her Best Buddy Erika Wheeler, $440,000.00 that The W, apparently doesn't have, in a Two Year Contract....My Math says that she's paying Wheeler $220+ Thousand Dollars a Year, all this money rolling in to Wheeler who is averaging 3.5 PPG, and I have to ask, WHY? Wheeler Can't Shoot, Nor can She Score, she, like Mitchell will get an open shot and rather than take it, will almost hold a Fancy Dribbling and Showboating Clinic, before Running Directly into the most "Traffic" she can find, And Immediately, Bob, Weave, Head fake, and BLOW THE SHOT....Ergo 3.5 PPG. Those Good Old Country Boys, and some of the Girl Ballers would Throw Down over any Real Or Imagined Transgression, by a player, But Physical Violence was the order of the day for "Shady, or Sketchy" Refs. I've seen more than a bunch of Bad Refs leave before the game was over, all Bloodied and Torn up. We didn't Look Forward top it, we just Knew it was inevitable, whenever you mixed Moonshine Liquor, Testosterone, And Basketball, I can also state with no Small amount of authority, that Not A Single Solitary One, of your WNBA "Elite Level" Referees, would survive even ONE Basketball Season, back in that Day.....Now Don't go thinking Drunk Rednecks would ever attack or even lay hands on a Lady Ref. They wouldn't Disrespect a lady Like That, even if she were a terrible Ref.....BUT There Were Always, Down Home, Throw Down In A Heartbeat, Southern Belles, who would easily have "Handled" the Toughest Lady Ref on the WNBA's Consummately Blind Staff Of Lady Refs. Expecting Aaliyah Boston to be an enforcer shows the ignorance people have for her character and attitude. Dawn Staley even said, had it been AB in the scuffle with LSU, she wouldn't have provoked more confrontation, she'd try to be diplomatic. Its not her character to be an enforcer. CC is going to have to learn to send a message herself or teams will still try her. I don't condone foul play but she has to let other players know, no tolerance for the bullshi.. when it happens.
I agree 100 on AB. You can't make someone that way. I do think, though, they need a veteran who fits this tougher mentality. You can't really have stars being their own enforcers, especially when they aren't physically imposing.
CC did stand up for herself when that Vivian girl puncher her in the chest. Got her 3rd technical foul. The officials sure are strange, somebody must have already submitted the video from Adrienne Ross's channel to the W about it. Maybe now that the Fever have time to breathe, the team can do a compilation of the uncalled fouls, too.
How is CC supposed to “let them know”? She’s breathes wrong and gets a technical. I think she did what she can do for now by saying she knows she’s gonna take hard hits and is trying not to respond because the refs just see players’ retaliation and punish that. That was about as damning a comment on the officiating as you could imagine.

Pass the ball
Starts with the piss poor refs. I see it in all the games, not just the Fevers games. Last night I saw a layup while hitting the defender in the mouth with a closed fist slap. Bloody and on the ground, the refs review was only a T, not thrown out of the game. Joke.......The NBA would be fist fighting if any cheap shots happened like this. In a short time, we will see fist fights in the W and viewers will leave.

Coach Sides "we get down when things aren't going our way." That's your job, to not let your players "get down" and to inspire, love and motivate them and stay encouraging and positive. Coach Bluder managed it.
Individually this team is incredibly talented. Once they gel, they will raise the game. Mitchell and Smith rock together! Wallace's energy is incredible. Samuelson shows up and make the play. Boston is a GOAT in the making once she's comes out of her shell. Love her! Wheeler, Hull, Jackson and the team are agile contenders. I also think this team is classy and keeping it real.
I didn't mention Clark cuz she needs a break from all comments good and bad. I watch the W because of her so enough said.

Nobody else is being relentlessly assaulted like Clark and ai did not see it last year at all and nobody guards anyone else full court or double team on anyone and I was watching every game fully noticing everything! Reece got 1 assault for her trash mouth but asked for it though that was very wrong too! But it’s not happening to all rookies or Mitchell either! She is lying! She isn’t supporting Clark at all and it sickens me! I prob would have flattened that thug for assaulting my teammate! I sure would have been on the ref and my coach at the least to stop the game for a review!!! I can’t watch these rotten eggs anymore! DONE! Every game and interview with Mitchel saying bad things gets worse!

Fever org, you have this golden opportunity to call out the bad officiating, excessive physicality, and unsavory behavior being rationalized and tolerated as "competitiveness" and "physicality" that has been the WNBA for decades. It ruins the integrity of the sport and the enjoyment of fans, esp. parents bringing their kids to watch. It's not ok to normalize aggression and lawless behavior in sports, much less women's sports. Upskill the refs or hire better ones, and remind all the players to play Professional Women's Basketball, not men's rugby.
