- Today I want to talk about my process in creating NPCs for our next game: 5 Bucks for the Bus.
Also special thanks to @ScruffyMusic for helping me navigate the video production process!

"Paintricia". Well that's a pretty clever name.
Suggestions for eyes:
Sunglasses/ glasses: these would overwrite the eyebrows probably. Just upper or lower framed glasses would also be less cumbersome and occupy less space.
1-pixel Dot eyes (without eyebrows): admittedly these would be rather pronounced among the other styles of eyes, so you'd need a good reason to give them to a character.
It would make that character very memorable, which is good!
If closed eyes count as eye types I use straight, slanted, and upside down u shaped closed eyes for some of my characters
Holy shit the production value is high.
I adore your silly art style and character, also your scriptwriting is really good!!! :3
You’re so unique I love channels like this
Super helpful, dankjewel naamgenoot ;)
Hope the handsome frog is in the new game, looking forward to it!
Very fun video! Also that signature at 0:54 is adorable
Thanks! 🐻
My old signature was super ugly, so when I needed to sign a few Niko physicals I took the afternoon to make up a new one.
Used it as a basis for my character in this video. ✨
@@frogvibesgames Ha that's awesome! Looking forward to the game by the way, it looks super cute 👍
its weird seeing where all the tiktoks fit into the video! also, for another example of npcs i like undertale's: despite having no animation, the shapes and sizes are quite varied to create memorable characters.
Good point! It's impressive how memorable the NPCs are with only a static sprite and a few lines of dialogue. ✨
Can you talk about your process of making music?
I plan to, yes!
i love this!! great explanation along with a fun and endearing presentation!
By allowing double thick lines in your npcs, You can use the extra line weight to either anchor the character more, if the heavy lines are at the bottom of features like the head, heair, hands, etc. or on the far side of the character to further indicate depth.
A game I played that both eschews pixel art, yet employs its "tropes" is Nobody Saves the World.
Anyway, great video! Take my sub!
Really fun watch!
this was actually really helpful, thank you for making this!! i’ve been making a game and was actually stuck on how we should go about making characters
Glad to hear that! ✨
Love these. Hope they get more traction.
Wonderful video!! The editing was cute and funny, and you make wonderful points regarding how to use pixel art effectively.
i also want a nose
I love these videos ❤
noice
Great video! I'd love to see more by the Frog Vibes team on their creative process.
I've been interested in pixel art for a bit and this gives a tiny, but inspiring glimpse into the process. I also just tried out the trial version of Aseprite and wanna give it a spin myself. Thanks for the video! ヽ( '▽ ')ノ
I'd love to keep these going. It's been a lot of fun to produce. Got a ton of topics I wanna cover.
Have fun with Aseprite. Making pixel art is a blast ✨
PLEASE tell me the game is going to be exactly $5 to tie in with the name! That would be so funny!
Hello! I loved your video, could you perhaps make one more focused on making npc dialogue, I’ve been a bit confused on it lately. More specifically on how to make dialogue fun and interesting. Thanks!
Can do! I have a few ideas which would compile nicely into a video about this topic.
The video looks very nice :), I'd suggest making the music a tad quieter in future vids tho
Will do, good point 😊
Quick question, but what do you use for making sprites?
I myself use Aseprite. It's made for pixel art, but there are other programs that well work too. 😊
whats your favorite brand of barbecue sauce
Good question. I like it when it's smokey 🤔 What is yours?
