Just bought an MC-909 two days ago, can't wait to get it so I can get the soundset , all your stuff is amazing!. Best regards from Mexico, gracias. (o;
Really excellent thing you did here. My interest in this machine was peaked when I read how tight the sequencer is. Its about 2 or 3 samples more jitter more than an MPC 4000 which is the tightest hardware sequencer ever made. This MC909 is pretty damn close to it. This is a very good machine imo and your pack would certainly be on my shopping list if I picked one up.
0,4 times 1000 is 400… your math skills are failing… Don Solaris Sound Set is fantastic, and the MC909 absolutely awesome… if you cannot make music with it is due to your lack of skills, just like your math skills…
Donnnn...nice work, once again man!! Those shuffling hats coming in at around 12.04-12.12 are they in this patch as single shots as well? That beat is so dope, so detroit and then you fade it out just as its gettiing hot!! ;(
Ich arbeite auch gerade an einem Pad Sound auf der 909 😊72 Takte 😅kann man da noch von einem Loop sprechen? Na ja auf jeden Fall harmoniert dass bei Minute 12 schön mit meinem Sound 😊✌️
Hi Don, loving this sample pack.. I put 512mb memory stick in my MC909, which was recognised by the MC909. Somebody told me that I might run into bus speed issues (bottlenecked bus data) as the MC909 maximum RAM is 256mb. Would you agree that he is more than likely correct ?. Much appreciated. Thanks in advance. ✌️ ❤️ 🇦🇺 🪃
So what's your opinion on the synth engine? Does it hold up against newer machines like Octatrack etc? I know they are totally different machines though, but audio quality wise? I'm looking for a sampler+sequencer machine as the heart of my setup. I currently have Digitakt, but there's just too many features I miss on it. So I'm considering things like the Octatrack or RS7000, MC909 or similar.
Its way deeper than most, especially several features: chromatic and drum kit sounds both can have up to 4 (mono/stereo) waveforms layered and each of the four has its OWN parameters for everything - EGs(3),LFOs(2), velocity-fading, key-tracking, stereo placement, etc. The filter models are probably not as good as the DIgiktat but they're MUCH improved from the JV-based groovebocxes (MC-505/307/D2) and totally usable. But it's not a virtual analog or anything like that, ALL sounds are PCM based. Do NOT expect the synth section to sound good (for 2018) right away, but if you load any good synth samples into it, it does very well! As example, here's a bunch of sounds on the MC-909 I programmed out of sampling Roland's D-50 th-cam.com/video/T3e_QXt9a7Y/w-d-xo.html
Wow, good work man! i missed this, just fired up my groovebox after some 8 years, now playing with ableton as all the pads, inc start are worn out. Sick to death of hearing most of its preset voices. Again. The poor preset patterns are mostly to blame for its haters. This would give any MC-909 the bollocks it never had. I'm in.
Do you mind sharing how in the world do you delete a user pattern? I've looked everywhere and I can't find it. I found some forums of people asking the same thing but no response.
@@julian-multimansamples are in WAV but sample sound not individually named in file name eg..tr909kick1.wav .?? How can you work around this ? Is there a file name list anywhere?
I also asked this question on your website: Are these files in .wav format so that, for example, I can use them in my Elektron Octatrack? They sound terrific! Thanks!
schepler2 Yes, samples are already in wav format. :) Get the package, they are located in ROLAND/SMPL/ folder, extract the archive and there you have it, all the wavs from this soundset in their pure form.
Im. coming back to this as. I am thinking if the MC. 909 is worth getting just for this sample pack and to use it as my main drum sampler/machine. Only concerns are. the size and that the sonics might not be the best, at least not when comparing with MC505?? What is your unbiased opinion? MC909 or MC505 (with its more limited drum sounds). I got the XP50 already so synth wise I have the JV1080 sound and sonics. Now I would like a punchy drum sampler/groovebox and seriously consider one of these two options, just a bit "worried" that the punch/hi-fi sounding qualities aren't good enough with the MC 909 to make some kick-ass beats. Heard a lot saying the mc909 sounds like a cardboard box.so...would love to hear your thoughts?? I am also open to something newer. like. Mc707 or Digitakt. Thanks mate!!
Owner here of a MC909 and an Octatrack, both have characteristics of their own… MC909 stock sounds are a bit… 90s and early 2000s… programming your own stuff changes that… FX are great, but is something to dedicate time to, since there is a huge amount of menus, parameters, and not very friendly manual… for me performance wise, there is nothing similar to the 909… super tight sequencer, great arpeggiator and chord mode, good sampler and features. There are some demos on TH-cam on the MC909 and access virus (can’t remember the guys name) you should check it out, great sound… but basically the sound you get out ís equivalent to the time you decide to spend on it. I’ve bought the Octatrack only for being able to stream huge files from the card, it also have something weird with the sound that degrades audio.
@@julian-multiman Hey man thanks for commenting, just got around to replying now! Well, since I wrote my comment I got a mint mc505, love it, it's all that I dreamt of as a kid when it was released but couldn't afford it. I already know it pretty well, and I like the way it works and sounds, great for 90s trance stuff. Still thinking about the MC909 to add this dope drum lib by Don and to have more of the same+sampler. I have another old dope hardware sampler by Roland which I actually didnt get around to use yet, a bit more complicated to setup, and runs on disk etc. The sequencer on MC505 is super tight too and the arp is dope. Really great for coming up with dope lines and tracks. Will check out some more. there's another one for sale locally but the screen seems to have some issues he says so not sure.
@@AnalogFlava Cool man, I’m also planning to get my MC909 and make some tutorials on how to fix some stuff and tips and tricks I’ve learned through out the years. Enjoy!!
@@AnalogFlava Do it! I’ve been wanting to buy an AKAI MPC ONE, or the AKAI Force, but basically I can do all with the MC909 and the Octatrack… but the 909 alone is just amazing sequencer and sketch/idea maker… the sampler a bit dated but again with limited options creativity shines.

ys, use a DAW, record single parts one by one. u have 2 direct outs on the backside.
@@erikvanzanenI purchased this set for my mc909...are you saying that a DAW will recognise the name of each of the 1092 samples?.
i like this 9th min. wow
Does it work for the MC-505 also?
Mc505 has no RAM , the media card slot on the mc505 is for saving pattern and patch data.
