@@Balequalm I saw it about 8 months ago. Been a fan ever since. It’s wild that I’ve never watched it until this year. I’d heard of it & had it on my watch list. It’s so amazing.
@@TetsuoIVIX I've known it for years but couldn't get around watching it somehow. It was Parannoul who pushed me over the edge, probably as was the case for the most new watchers. If I knew it'd cater to me this much, would've watched it a hell lot earlier :D Interesting to see our cases are very similar!
@@Balequalm same. I have no idea why I never checked it out. What makes it crazier, I’ve been into film heavily since around 08! Lmao I don’t know who or what a Parannoul is! But if it’s helping people discover it, that’s pretty tight. But, yeah the film hit way too close to home for me. I remember having a Walkman & then getting a CD player back in the day. I played the CD player to the point the cushioning on the headphones were gone lol. So, you can already start to see why this hit so hard
@@TetsuoIVIX So you got to live that era itself... I'm kind of jealous, ngl :D I have such a crush for late 90's/early 2000's, I feel like I'd love to be a teenager back then. Ofc, not over here, in the west or maybe some place like Japan, Hong Kong or Singapore, where I could experience those new technologies as they enter to the broader culture, go into the net and meet new people in old forums and chatrooms... maybe I'd even get to have some imageboard experience! It could have been more depressing, as was in the movie, but I cannot shake the romanticism still, having been borne at 2001. I cannot say I got particularly shaken by the movie, I haven't been bullied, neither do I know anyone who has been, to an extent that'd come at least close to that of the movie anyways. Still tho, I had a very lonely hs life, and a lot of the themes do captivate me, alongside my crush on that era. Overall, enjoyed it a lot! I also feel like the movie caters to an online audience a lot, people who use internet to meet and talk to others: the online community described there felt like a great touch.
Maybe life ain't that bad after all.

I love how beautiful this is. Especially in the new TH-cam atmospheric mode.
New into Lily Chou Chou as well? I actually feel in love with watching these old videos about the movie...
