    Thank you for this ! This is exactly what I need to know …nitric oxide is the unified theory of aging… nitric oxide, it improves the big 3 biomarkers of aging and longevity… that being signal stem cells to mobilize and repair repair and replace damage cells activates the enzyme tolemeres , which prevent tolemere shortening which increases longevity also increases mitochondria per cell.

    I've been binge watching videos featuring Dr. Bryan and really enjoyed this one. I've started using the NO lozenges ten days ago and am quite pleased with my results, esp. with increased energy, pain suddenly gone from an old foot injury, better sleep, and less angina when exerting during exercise. I go for my third coronary calcium score in October and hope to see reduction in plaque after using the lozenges for several months. I believe that my probiotic and prebiotic diet, fluoride free mouth care, mouth taping, and sugar reduction for years before taking them has increased their efficiency (I've been on a quest to lower inflammation after my first heart scan in 2019).

      @@valerie4975 so far it helps lower BP. Took two a day the past two months will now only take one per day. One per day is about 40 bucks per month. It’s worth it if it helps RE establish the NOS pathway. I have about a 6 month supply at one per day. Let’s see if my BP stays improved when I am finished

      @@valerie4975 it does help reduce BP. Will reduce taking two lozenges per day to only one per day to save money. Also I take my vitamins and supplements shortly after I take a lozenge I think it helps improve getting nutrients to more of my tissues

    I'm slightly dubious as I feel he wants to sell his products, any any other supplement like beetroot juicec powder etc he suggesting is no good. I do believe nitric oxide is essential and we can get it through our diet and enhanced it with supplements.
    I wish to talk to about other conditions that affect your ability to produce nitric oxide like sinusitis and people who can only mouth breathe or have dysbiosis of the gut.

    It seems preferable to have the NO made by our own enzymes located in the appropriate locations in the body--rather than relying on microbes in our mouth to make the NO from nitrates and nitrites. How do we know if the bugs in our mouth killed by mouthwashes are the good ones or the bad ones--which cause tooth decay, for example? Also, nitrates used as meat preservatives have documented negative health effects. If the bugs in our mouth produce nitrite from nitrate, why does this not lead to similar negative health outcomes?

    Hi Richard - I know Tour de France competitors take beet juice for endurance aid and is legal. Read that for there drug testing for steroids that there pee is reported red from beet juice. Wonder if this company’s products could be used instead. Wonder why these athletes not using as seems easier then drinking all the juice that normally they do? Thanks any update on this with your thinking

    • @ModernHealthspan
      @ModernHealthspan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Hi Jonathon, thanks for your comment. This is not meant to be a commercial video. It is a video on the biology of NO. No product is mentioned until close to the end of the 1 hour interview. I would add a couple of thoughts. a) He offered plenty of advice which would be free to implement. b) We could just cover basic research, but that is not very practical for many people. If a solution is something that is available now, it will probably have a commercial element. c) And finally, academics may not have a company but they will still have an interest in promoting a point of view. If I interviewed someone from a university who studied NO, would the science be different? would they not also have an interest in promoting NO as it is what their research and grants are based on?

      I am always suspicious of guests who have a product to sell. In his favor is apparently being a long term researcher (PhD) in this area and not an MD (i.e. usually just a layman in health and aging) with a book or line of supplements to sell. Too many researchers (and physicians) these days tied to products and companies, and this is apparent as they almost never talk about how diet and exercise affect their favorite pathways.
