To move it all together requires the manipulation of only a single transform group. The same happens when the evac shuttle takes off. That's why, if the game gets confused as to which players are aboard, you can sometimes see the shuttle's launch animation also translate a completely separate & distant player. The real magic (and complexity) is seemlessly relocating(detaching & reattaching) the player inside the scene graph when such transitions are needed. (Especially complex in a networked simulation) Star Citizen struggled with this exact problem for a long time, due to the complexities & pervasiveness of their physics engine, and scale & seemlessness of their world.

I love how if you look closely you just straight up stop falling while being moved, only for gravity to suddenly start working again. Watch where they are compared to other ships while they are reaching their destination, then watch as they suddenly start going up after their orbit was synchronized.
It does make me wonder if the way the game does movement in the ship is by moving the ship and the players towards the destination or if it moves the entire planet and other ships towards the players.
Yeah, there's little real movement going on, it's not like No Man's Sky. Jumping to new locations is pretty much an illusion when it comes down to the game mechanics

It would be so cool if when you did that, after 30 seconds you'd just drop in a random match. You wouldn't have have a hellpod so you'd die on impact but you just drop on a random match. No stratergems, guns or anything. Just you. Gotta pick up what ever you can then fight for liberty. If you die, you just get sent back to the destroyer
Who needs a hellpod anyway... You can also do the glitch to go at the rear of the ship where there is pelican-1 and tons of ammo. Just don't walk in the middle part or you'll fall through just like this.
