As a South African expat living in Ireland I found this video to be incredibly cathartic. Just bawled my eyes out 🥹 Certain circumstances don’t allow me to live there for the time being but my heart aches for home every single day. It never gets easier but as the years pass, I learn how to deal with it a bit better. It makes me so happy you loved my beautiful country. 🥹❤ thanks Jess, for the stunning video! 💕✨ 🇿🇦
Your sensitivity touched my soul. I’ve a dream to visit this country one day. And I agree with your position on zoos…animals should be free, save only rare animals and those who do not have a mom 💔 Thank you so much for this wonderful video! Have a lovely weekend sweetheart!
Omg it was so much. The statistics and stories about how endangered they are was heartbreaking. We bought the penguins houses #everypenguincounts and signed the rhino law petition #rhinolaws ❤️ but it’s just not enough and what was sooooo clear to me is the problem is us and if we only did less, ate less and in general just respected the beautiful planet we’re lucky enough to inhabit then nature would take care of itself
My country is incredibly beautiful and there's so much to enjoy as a tourist. What is depicted here is indeed a tourist experience. So glad you enjoyed the visit.
Love seeing your beautiful Mum, bless her for being in nursing for 46 years. Happy retirement to her. Thank you for taking us to Africa and your holiday, so nice to see. Love when you do these types of vlogs. Gorgeous scenery. Loved the penguins. Fantastic Safari. Nice you got to ride the horses.
I'm so glad you have discovered South Africa! We go every year, it's such an amazing and beautiful country, with very friendly people. The Garden Route is incredible, and safari at Kruger doesn't disappoint - keep having fun. The food is phenomenal too!
Your lovely video popped up in my feed. How fitting that you got to share this very special trip with your mother to the Mother City! Cape Town is so beautiful, I'm blessed to live here. I'm glad you both got to experience so much of the beauty and variety that our country offers and I loved seeing it through your eyes!
This is one of your most beautiful videos. I can see the difference of how at ease and home you are. And your love of animals is thoroughly expressed to me...they are so beautiful and whole. THANK YOU! I have been intrigued by safari and South Africa, but now it is a must do!!!!
What an amazing adventure. How lovely that you could experience it with your mother. One of my favourite experiences was a horseback trip in the Canadian Rockies. Returning to civilization after 7 days in the wilderness was so incredibly jarring to my senses. I wanted to turn my horse around and go back. 😄
Wow, this was so beautiful Jessica. Thank you for taking us along. And thank you for your calm, peaceful and kind way of moving through the world. It’s just what we need right now. ❤
That was such a sweet retirement gift to your mom, Jessica ❤ Glad you ladies enjoyed your time here 😊 Always fun seeing my city (Cape Town), and parts of my country, through visitors eyes. 😀 So glad you truly had the bestest time here 😃🤍😘 10:01 some would say it's photoshopped, hey ☺️🤗😍😍 Stellenbosch, you looked like you were in your element 😃🐎 Absolutely amazing vlog ❤ thanks for this Jessica. 🤍
This was such a lovely video. My husband is from SA so I loved that I get to see this beautiful part of the world through your eyes. Looking forward to our next trip ❤ 🇿🇦 🐘 🦒
Beautiful as always, the horse riding made me feel emotional (I could see your joy and felt I was there with you) thank you for sharing your amazing holiday and wish your mum a very happy retirement and a thank you to her for all her years as a NHS nurse x
Such a lovely video. I found myself just fascinated by SA after your video and it was a wonderful breathe of fresh air. What a wonderful time shared with your mum.
This was a wonderful surprise to find your video in just a couple of days after your last one. I am always looking forward to them. And it was an amazing one. Thank you for sharing with us your experience in South Africa. Your videos always have a very calming, soothing, peaceful effect on me. I love to watch them! I am happy for you and your Mom that you could enjoy this beautiful, exciting trip.
Beautiful trip - thanks for sharing. I can understand you feeling emotional leaving the hotel. I even felt emotional watching the animals in the wild on your video. x
This was a beautiful video. I particularly love the was you captured the animals on safari. I would love to see a video on how you packed and what you took and maybe anything you would change after the fact. May I also ask what nail colour you use?
This is such a great video. You have managed to capture pure emotion and simplicity of life. I fell in love with South Africa just seeing your video. To answer your question - I do experience some kind of disbelief in being somewhere or seeing something in the moment, and feel those emotions later. Thank you for ths story. ❤ from Belgrade, Serbia.
Hi Jess amazing vid and i think you must have seen every sea creature that day! Can I just mention tbat the last fe blogs have had muffled sound in parts and I couldnt hear what you were saying. Not sure if its your mic or if it has settings. Not sure if I am the only one who noticed though. Hope you enjoyed your SA experience. Looks spectacular and what memories.😊😊😊
Wow! Thanks for bringing us along on this magical trip. Did you do the tea bag trick for your eye? A bit of salt disolved in warm water and wiped gently across the lid with a clean cotton ball can also help to bring relief. It's so hard when things like that happen when you aren't near a pharmacy!
Hello Jessica from Montreal. I have missed you! I was hoping all was well for you. Happy to see you are having a great time. One question for you. How do you choose the hotels you are staying? Do you have to do a lot of research. You seem to always find great places. Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. Congratulations to your mom for her well deserved retirement. What is she planning to do?
My biggest secret for great hotel recommendations…iescape! They have such a great list of design boutique style places all over the world and they cater for all budgets. I’ve never had a bad experience with a hotel I found on their site. The motswari hotel I found via some Pinterest travel blog research xx
So many things to say on this one, I went to south Africa in 2019 leading a school trip working on giraffe and environmental conservation, I also very much struggled with what to pack!! And also very much found that my worries had been for pretty much nothing! I too found my trip to south Africa extremely overwhelming emotionality, cried when we left our zingela stay, and again as we were about to leave the country. As you say, very hard to put it into words or still to process my feelings around it all but I agree with the experiencing once in lifetime experiences with community has a lot to do with it. Also agree on the comparison to the beach scene! I also recently met a guy who had spent a few years in south Africa and was trying to convey his experience to our friends who felt dubious about it and we very much bonded over the shared experience of having being touched by it's magic. So glad you were touched by it too. 🤍

Seeing the wild animals safe in the nature give us hope for the world…. These places are rare, but they exist

Goodness - just a Jean and a t-shirt- us girls in South Africa go in shorts or a Jean, tshirt and a hat. Just always keep a warm jacket with you 😅
Since you feel better there you should look into astro cartography!
