Thanks for the instruction! That's a pity this cars are rusting that much. I actually did antirust prep when I bought mine. It's hard to tell if it helped as not much time passed. Otherwise Mirage is great model IMHO. Fuel consumption is great and it becomes more and more important.
I wouldn't take for granted that the anti-rust coating company actually bothered to coat the license plate light frame. It's not something people commonly look for.
At 3:19 you mention the license plate bracket becoming rusty and falling apart, same thing happened to mine. I ordered the part but could you do a video or know of a video explaining how to replace? Really like your work keep it up!
Currently No video, maybe in the future I’ll have one. replacing it requires removal of the rear bumper. I’d rather use super glue to put it back together than go through the trouble of removing the rear bumper.
@@welfarewagonrepairs My car's license plate lamp bracket has already fallen apart, so I needed to replace it to pass the annual state safety inspection. The design of the bracket is terrible that it has a screw in the middle to attach to the rear bumper, that's the one that makes removing the rear bumper a necessity. I like your idea to use super glue instead of the screw.
Im curious how do you remove the plates? The screw rotates with my tool. I tried to use wd40 nothing works. Can you share some tips as I would like to put a license plate holder. Thank you
The holes for Your screws are probably stripped. I’d recommend not removing it. There is also a very slim chance they have been replaced with bolts with nuts on the other side of the bumper,
The plate lights are wired to the parking light circuit(the dim rear brake and front orange and white lights that are always on when parking or headlights are switched on). Have you tried changing the bulbs? I would be surprised if all your parking lights worked but both plate lights had wiring problems.
Another great video as usual. This channel always keeps me updated on the tips and tricks necessary for the maintenance of the Mitsubishi mirage!
