    Goodness! I remember watching this in the past, but in better quality which should tell you it was a long time ago. Grew up in the 60's/70's to allot of great films of the past. I had forgotten that this existed! Glad to have watched it again! Thank you.

      Same here. Drive in back in the fifties can't have better times. Entire families would have nights together watching clean movies. Sad now times find these to boring. Not me been a Audie Murphy since I was eight. Has not change he is my hero.

    Never knew this existed. It seems like a hour long series like so many other one hour shows of that time.
    I wasn't able to find any more of these on YT.
    I liked It. Wish there were a few more.

      stopDabs "Suspicion" was an hour-long drama series that ran on NBC from 1957 to 1958.
      The show's executive producer was Alfred Hitchcock.

    Audie Leon Murphy (20 June 1925 - 28 May 1971) was one of the most decorated American combat soldiers of World War II, receiving every military combat award for valor available from the U.S. Army, as well as French and Belgian awards for heroism. Wow!

    • @zorroalphonso4354
      @zorroalphonso4354 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      USA was a late comer into the war, already won by Bolsheviks who took Berlin, owing to the German Military-Political goof-ups. Otherwise, German soldiers were the best fighters of WWII. As for France and Belgium, they were a pair of losers.
      So, phony heroism!

    FAA regulations=every multi-engine plane must have a co-pilot.

    • @PeggyFlouncey
      @PeggyFlouncey 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No so. I'm a multi-engine pilot and fly by myself all the time. Some multi-engine turbine aircraft do not even require two pilots. It was however difficult to watch this from a pilot's point of view because they used stock footage of a different aircraft for the inflight sequences than the Beech-18 they showed on the ground.

    Audie married a famous actress, I can't remember her name--who was it ?

    • @PeggyFlouncey
      @PeggyFlouncey 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He was married to actress Wanda Hendrix for only two years. Later, he married Pam Archer and they had two sons. Audie was a great man, but unassuming. He shunned notoriety for his heroism always saying "The real heroes didn't get to come home after the war." He was plagued with PTSD (before they even had a name for it) for the rest his life. Rest in Peace Audie L. Murphy, your country could use a thousand more just like you...but there will only be one of you.

    Wow very glad I stumbled onto this little gem. Had no idea it would be that good. 20 or 30 more minutes of footage and that could've been a full length movie and and a pretty damn good one. Murphy's acting in this was superb. I've never seen him look more natural and authentic. Great story.

    Did Audue smoke or was it just for the film?

    • @AudieMurphyAmericanLegend
      @AudieMurphyAmericanLegend  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @piecesofthehglassPaulbroke Audie never smoked...ever. The only alcohol he would consume was Vermouth which helped calm his nervous stomach condition. Thanks for your interest. In the late 60's and by then virtually broke he told an interviewer, (paraphrasing): "I've been offered a lot of money to endorse cigarettes and booze. I refuse to do it. I won't be a whore to those industries. It wouldn't be the right role model for the youth of America. I'd rather die broke."
