I Was SHOCKED to see THIS at the Carboot!

- Hello and welcome to a very special episode as today we are back at the carboot and what I found this time SHOCKED me!
This is one of the best carboot hauls I have ever had and you will not believe what I found! Not only Videogames both for the collection and to trade into CEX, but I also took a gamble on the cheapest console I have ever picked up, and also possibly the dirtiest and smelliest!
But the main shocker this time is the absolute HOLY GRAIL PS2 games, which i never imagined I would ever, EVER be able to play!
And that is what game collecting is all about, regardless of how you do it, playing the game!

Totally agree with your thinking on the rarities. They'll be a little oddity on your shelf but an affordable way to play them without emulating.

What’s the best way to check whether a PS2 game is counterfeit from just seeing the case?
@@rgrtnyjjc normally it’s fairly obvious, the print quality is normally the best tell. Best way is if you can check the disk.
If i got a ps5 n xbox series x do u think from cex i should pick up a ps2 slim.
It’s worth picking one up from CEX as you get a 24 month warranty for all consoles but you may pay a little bit more for it
How much was the mcboot card please. I’m going tomorrow and if same stall is there I might give them a go.

Well worth it, it’s the easiest way to play burned games on the PS2 and for a small percentage of the normal price of these heavy hitters
Definitely worth picking up the repros just to play them. Does bug me though they didn't go with the PAL art and ratings on them all though
Yeah it’s a shame they’re not Pal labelled but they play amazingly and I’m really enjoying Silent Hill!
@@DanTheGamesMan silent hill is good, but that's a rough port, but not unplayable. Rule of rose on the other hand has one flaw I'd say with the mcboot method. The gameplay is dreadful but the story is great. I urge people to play it with an action reply for invincibility just to take away the frustrating combat, but I don't think you could do that using the mcboot. Unless there is an inbuilt cheat function in the mod. I've not updated mine in forever so don't know what's been added to it over time.

To think that back in 2012 I refused to pay 60€ for a sealed copy of Silent Hill Shattered Memories.... 😅😅😅😅🤭

Those 2 ps2 games were proper cool finds even if they are repros - especially with the price of them. That xbox was an unbelievable find for £4 (shame about the games). I would have had a punt on the ps2 games and console as well esp with what I picked up at last weeks boot sales.
Yeah I think this year I’m going to be taking a lot more chances as most of these consoles were built to last!
Yeah I’m just happy to be able to cross these two games off my must play list!

Funkos can be very addicting. I try to stick to ones that mean something to me so i have a few tmnt, and freddy mercury when at Wembley and really glad to say I got a special edition Fiend one when it came out
Yeah I tend to stick to video game ones and also TMNT ones now, I used to collect mainly Star Wars and Marvel ones but got most of the ones I wanted

Honestly the prices of some of these games are outrageous. I really want to play kuon and i would buy the fake copy any day just to be able to play this game without emulating. It's crazy the fakes were only 5£ tho, in my country even the fake ones are disgustingly expensive 💀
Yeah some of these games command a crazy price and I’m more than happy to pay £5 to be able to finally play them, on the original hardware as well!
When I see the price of retro games it makes me sick to my stomach because I had majority of them especially master system/megadrive. I sit nd think shit I had all these games but as a kid you don't think,Few year back I sold my megadrive with all the streets of rage now I wish I kept them. I've learned to hold onto everything now because you never know...
@@XxAIRLINxX yeah unfortunately it’s a lesson most of us have to learn. That’s the main reason I started collecting, the regret after selling my childhood consoles and the near instant desire to want to go back and play them again for nostalgia.
Yet my carboot sale had nothing but cheap sports games
That’s a shame but it does seem that’s where a lot of these titles end up sadly
I do have a list of games I want but those ones aren't even going to resell for a decent price

I got lucky on velvet assassin and fatal inertia for £1 a few weeks ago but this week had nothing unfortunately

Red dead game of the year was definitely worth picking up for 4 quid I'd have jumped on it 12 quid cex credit

You can also get Shatterd Memories on the Wii, which is a cheaper alternative to the ps2 version.
I have seen that before but wanted to play with a co troller rather than motion controls.

@@DanTheGamesMan I'm learning to mod a PS2 Slim into a dev kit. Plus I've always wanted the NTSC variant of NFSU2 for the Honda Civic and Acura RSX that were removed in the PAL region.

@@DanTheGamesMan Exactly. I collect import games, but I does use eBay as much anymore. I've been after the NTSC release of NFSU2 and Shox for a while.

@@Hstretch honestly no, just turned it on played a few games of FIFA 16, a game which I wasn’t overly concerned it it got stuck in the console lol, and that was it, but I will probably take it to CEX as I have a few too many Xbox 360 consoles already lol

"Genre", "developer", "full set", "sub set"..
Resident Evil has "Gaiden"
Ps2 collectors have rule of rose..
Competition is heavy due to survival horror genre.. peeps....
I personally will only buy these games.. when I get a raise.. because it gets 3months backdated XD
My personal one..
is Silent Tower on ps1.. US version release.. physical only release and "From software" developed 1st person dungeon crawler RPG.. soo a lot of subset competition XD
Indeed survival horror games do always seem to command a high price!
I’m quite lucky to have bought a few of my more expensive games before the great price rise of lockdown.
That’s an amazing way to spend your raise and a great way to reward hard work!
Wow if you're shocked to see knock off games at the car boot then you must set your expectations incredibly low.

£4 for elite xbox 360 😮what a bargain i paid £29.99 for mine recently for a kenect slim 4gb

Nice pick with that Xbox. I'll say this though that the Borderlands Movie from early reviews are not looking good. One early review said "it was terrible and unfunny".
I'm a huge borderlands fan and I am in no rush to see it
I was excited for it but they seem to have made some very strange casting choices but I guess time will tell, I get two free cinema tickets a month from sky to I’ll give it a try and me and the wife live Borderlands lol
