nothing to lose at this point... They already cut off the gas and burned all the bridges to peace, showing they want to annex more territories. Send the heavy metal
Pull troops out of the satellite nations and they’ll soon enough separate themselves- again. Pulling troops out of Eastern Siberia (Manchuria) risks China moving in.
Kind of why I think China would attack Russia more than it would attack Taiwan. Siberia is too temping a target to pass up. And the Russians have proven to be tactically stupid in the war. Lower risk greater reward.
Wars are won with logistics and combined arms movements and communication. Russia has no communications between ground and air forces and no ability to coordinate. Russia has a parade army, not one for fighting wars.
It's astonishing, isn't it? So far, the only war-fighting aspect Russia has performed somewhat well is artillery (fires), which is Russia's traditional strength, though this too is hamstrung by communication woes, logistics shortfalls, and a reliance on mass bombardment and less so on precision strikes.
What to make of the Kremlin's recent announcement of partial mobilization in Russia? Will this possibly even make a difference on the war in Ukraine, and what will be the consequences obviously within Russia, but also concerning the increasingly important Central Asia perspective?
Anyone remember 1917……failure on the front lead to revolt. Add Western arms and a winter’s worth of training with them, then let the Russians try to reclaim losses this spring.
Honestly, at this point however lost Ukraine seems from being in the grasp of Putin this is not going to help, what are these men going to find with, scrap metal ?!?! And more to the point I think Putin should worry more about his domestic front at this point, as the Russian state itself could be facing a breakup.
Re the Russian Air-force, is it known how many active, serving, experienced pilots there are? Or how many there were before they went to war and incurred so many losses? Both fixed wing and Helicopter.
Every school and library and mosque and church will be rebuilt, and there will be GUARANTEED Ukrainian language and culture and education for Ukrainians. NEVER destroy our children's Ukrainian institutions again, world.
Russian language must be faxed out in Ukraine and replaced by English! Ukraine will be a Western state not a Russian puppet like Belarus. It will need to trade and the best language for trading is English.
This can't be right. Putin has declared the return of a multipolar world and a end to Western liberal hegemony. So there's no way he could be met with this unenthusiastic response!
The season won't save them the Ukraine Nation military troops are well equipped for the sessions year round. It is going to be to temping to stop themselves."P/N/M"
The Russian air force is likely part of their strategic reserve! Along with the rest of their most valuable/best performing assets. It's why you'd want to be careful in Ukraine, don't underestimate them. The Russians excel in large scale operations, it's their strength. The blow they dealt in the initial invasion, those kind of operations. They'll want to save and be very careful with their air force to be able to deliver another such blow and another and another... Rather than spending it to keep the "cannon fodder" covered, they'll strive to deliver bigger punches. They've mobilized four waves of 300 000. That's four more punches like the initial invasion, if they keep their air force alive.
The recent announcement of mobilization by Russia calling up 300,000 reservists is certainly alarming. Will the Russian people resist and revolt against Putin? Historically disaffected troops returning from losing wars have led to revolutions. Is this the beginning of the end?
Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Finland, Georgia and many many more know who the better friends are. News flash: it’s not Russia or it’s puppet state Belarus. Who wants to be friends with Russia? Garbage countries like Iran and North Korea lmao. China is only playing friendly with Russia for the cheap oil.

the same dilemma the faced by the Soviets
It’s amazing that Putin refuses to see that military abuse always fails eventually. Actually - no he is even more of a gangster than the Soviets.
This podcast is great, the adverts however are appalling-so so many adverts today, for goodness sake tone down the number!
There are zero adverts in the podcast...
The adverts are Google's doing - nothing to do with the Telegraph
i use a pc, and get an ad block for the browser. it's so much more chill.
Agree, the adverts are horrible
Over the weekend youtube selected people at random to be tested on 5-15 unskipable ads in a row...
Super thanks for ......smart informative talks.

a partial mobilization, is an other part a demobilization....

It seems like this declaration of adding more ( I’ll equipped men, I’m sure) to the front line is equally as tone deaf as the whole war itself.
More fertilizer to uk soil.
