The author did a live version of this talk on Cspan which I saw yesterday, it is pretty good, but cannot find it on TH-cam, but this talk seems to cover the same points, makes a very interesting backstory to the Hamilton musical
Wonderful lecture ... but why no mention of the college in Easton PA that is 46:30 named after him? It was founded in 1826 just a year after he concluded his visit to the US. I attended that college from 1969-71, so I have some interest in the matter.
None other than Edgar Allen Poe led the local junior guard when Lafayette paraded through Richmond, Virginia. The same parade route was walked by Lincoln when he walked through the still burning city in April 1865 with his son.

I propose we have a federal holiday named for Lafayette. That's how important he should remain in our conscience.
