Thank you! The latching pin had loosened and misaligned so that the secondary latching would t happen. Thanks to you, I solved my problem with a crescent a wrench.
Hey, awesome video! I am looking for the plastic part on top of the rear door bar, as seen st 6:34 in the video. Do you have any info on the little plastic part or a place I could buy one? Cheers
Three years later, hah, a question: What's the common cause of the rear door not wanting to lock when locking other doors? I hear what I assume is the actuator doing a thunk-THUNK - one direction then back, I expect - and oftimes I have to go to the back and open a door, manually push the lock flap, shut the door to get it to lock properly. Other times, the rear door locks as it should, there's no consistency to it.
Wow thank you so much for making this video!! It is soo hard to get a peep for the rear door area of the T1s! I can’t wait to try these adjustments! I’ve noticed my rear door hinge screws are stripped. On mine there are 3 that hold to hinge to the van itself. @1:21 where your index finger is, to the left of it, would you happen to know the model number for these 2, which are the same for the top and bottom? I had recently ordered 5073721AA from Mopar but they were totally different Then what I was expecting. What they had sent me were a head fit for a socket wrench rather than for a torx screwdriver/impact driver and of course they never have their screws displayed, which is so not helpful 😓. Hope they weren’t replaced by these...my mechanic ruined them. @1:27 the 3rd lone screw is visible for a split second to the farthest left which looks like a bolt torx (it’s probably not; I know nothing), the one I have is totally wrecked also but have no idea how to identify the model number for this either. Just recently brought a rear cargo weather strip, that fits on the entire circumference of the cargo door area (to the van itself, not the middle liner at the left door) but haven’t a clue if adhesive was used to stick it on when fitting it. There’s just no information on this. If you have the slightest clue please, please let me know. If you need any model number for any parts, I’ve come a long way in that department and ready to share. Thank you again for this video; the timing couldn’t be any more perfect!
@0:58 (inside pivoting before outside) @3:19 (door gaps out a bit upon closing) are happening to my right door and @4:21 (hitting the weather strip) is happening to my left door at the moment. Awesome man, you covered so much!👷♂️
Thanks for the useful video, hi from the UK. Did you make the video for how to flip that metal bar in the hinge to restore them? My hinges are just like this, good on he left and bad on the right. I'd love to feel confident drilling that plate out of the hinges and flipping it so would love a video about that!
Just bought two new hinges for my left door, though I am having the same problem with the “bar mechanism” @1:50 just without the rust. Wondering how this could be.
Lots of great information! Would this order make sense? 1. Clean then adjust latch on passenger side door 2. Adjust guides on top and bottom 3. Adjust set screws on hinges to set pitch 4. Adjust bolts holding door and hinge Also should the doors be flush front to back all around? (Taillight to taillight if you will)
Another question involving my hinge: I replaced the hinge but the new one is still actuating at the wrong part first. I have a ladder attached to the outside of that door. Could that be the problem? The top hinge works fine.
Hey! Question: I'm having issues with the black latch mechanism on the driver side door that controls that bar on the inside of the door. It started a few months back and has consistently been an issue. I have to fidget with it to get it to go into full locking mechanism whether the door is shut or open. Any thoughts?
You are a sprinter god. Most useful video I've seen on fixing my old sprinter.

Very informative. Much appreciated.
Wow! This is an amazingly helpful video. I am looking forward to your future videos.
