Amazing video. Congratulations! I own a 2007 W211 (e320) and the radiator is cracked in the same spot as yours. I would like to know your opinion on repairing the crack using epoxy resin based sealant instead of replacing the radiator. Im considering this as an interim repair because a new radiator would take more than a week to be shipped and delivered to me.
Helping Hand Auto Repair great vid just did mines today and was super helpful i have the 07 cls63 amg just have a question about the oil that drips out from the radiator how do u refill it thanks in advanced
Guillermo Rios How much came out? There shouldn’t have been much that came out if you lifted up the lines. You can refill whatever came out back into the transmission dipstick tube. Remove the red cover and use a funnel to refill the amount you lost.
Great videos! How did you know there was a crack? Did you see fluids on the ground or was there an error code? Also, is there any maintenance that can be done for the SBC brake system?
Earl Anthony Limos No check engine lights. These radiators have been known to crack into the driver (Left-hand drive) side air scoop area. My radiator is original Mercedes part and so I was basically waiting for it to crack. It did just as I was parking one day and lost around 1/2-3/4 gallon of coolant.
@@HelpingHandAutoRepair Thanks, awesome video. Mine also just cracked- 2007 E550. The job is a bit over my head and my back isn't good to crawl underneath. Your video was very informative and detailed. My mechanic will replace quoted at $1,200.
Great video, I think my rad has gone today! Lost a load of coolant, refilled, but then after about 5 minutes running idle my e350 displays the "refill coolant" message and runs around 85c on idle. Also the top coolant hose to the rad had completely come lose, I had to pop it back in. Strange. But yeah I may have a lose hose or a faulty rad. :(
85 *C is completely normal for idling on these cars. If you filled it up and then when you went back out to check it and it was low, then you are leaking coolant somewhere. If you filled it up and then the low coolant light came on and your reservoir is still at the same level, then you probably just have a problem with your coolant level sensor that sits on the bottom of the reservoir.
Oh. That’s my fault for not reading fully lol. The fans are probably different. I was thinking you meant the procedure to replace the 350 fan vs. the CLS fan. You can easily purchase that correct fan for the 350 online of from the parts store.
Did you loose much transmission fluid when you disconnected the lines from the cooler?. My CLS550 has one of those non-serviceable transmissions....No dipstick that is..
Helping Hand Auto Repair I just can't get the lower oil cooler hose to snap into place. Just looking for whatever trick you might have used to get it into place.
SPHINX144 I honestly don’t remember. It would just snap back in the way it was. Snapping everything together was the hardest part. However there really isn’t a trick. Just have to try and work it out as best you can.
Good job it's very useful containing I did that and I toke your video as a guide many thanks

I suppose in the mean time it could work in a pinch. However replacing the radiator is DEFINITELY recommended.
Instablaster.
Thank you for this tutorial.. I have a 2005 Mercedes CLS500.. Can I put a transmission cooler?
They have a built in one already. You can install an aftermarket one if you want to.
Brilliant video & overview. I liked it & subscribed. Looking forward to future videos !!
Colin Aglae thanks for the comment! I’m glad this video helped you!

redbaron2448 The brand is Behr. I bought it from fcpeuro.com

Guillermo Rios if you take the engine cover off it should be hidden down somewhat behind the engine on the passenger side.

Hi, I own a 2007 w211 (E350) and I need to replace the cooling fan. The question is if it's the same fan that in the w219 cls 350 ? Thanks a lot
Yes. They are very similar. You won’t have the heat exchanger like this CLS does on the bottom. Should be the same except for that.
@@HelpingHandAutoRepair thank you very much! I 'll try installing the cls fan!!!! Have a great weekend!!

No sir.
Also, you can still service the transmission and I HIGHLY suggest you do if you never have.
Broo I changed it and it leaked out like 25% of a quart will that affect my transmission
You should have shown how to snap the oil cooler lines back in to place. Probably one of the hardest parts.
Well it would go on exactly how you unsnapped it.

No wonder we couldn't take off radiator. Need to remove front top frame bracket. Right?????? 2001 Mercedes Benz s500
Yes.

It will be a pretty similar process. There will be a few differences but overall the process is pretty close.
How can u bypass or do direct radiator fan connection
You would need to figure out which wires control the fan. It’s best to just let the car control the fan
@@HelpingHandAutoRepair fan won’t kick in I test it directly n it works
@royrdz3787 probably something wrong with the fan controller.
@@HelpingHandAutoRepair thank u for your response n I’ll look into. Thanks again
I put on mine and it's leaking at the transmission cooler hoses
Well, guess you gotta find the leak and fix it.
What a beating this job is, mercedes really did not want any old peon doing this as a diy job😂

Mercedes wants 1400 for radiator and another 800 to replace hoses on my 08 E350 (W211) Crazy...
