  • We invite you to join us in worship for Sunday, February 14, 2021.
You can look forward to a prelude, "O Worship the King" arr. Sondra Tucker and played by the Covid Clapper Quartet, our handbell choir. Our Scholarship singers will sing, "Lord, I Want to Be a Christian" arranged by Moses Hogan, a well-known composer and arranger of Spirituals who we sadly lost at the age of 45 in 2003. Hogan was the editor of the "Oxford Book of Spirituals," which was published in September 2001 by Oxford University Press and became the top seller in the Oxford press’ American division. The cover image for this week's service is a photo of a portion of a mural by Artist Karen Fiorito and local Flagstaff Arizona artists R.E. Wall and Sky Black, painted in early September of 2018. This mural is a call for people of every race, creed, gender, ability or disability to come together.
The Rev. Rachel VanKirk Matthews preaches on the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ and the challenges of and need for racial reconciliation.
