Spot on with the Road America camping reference. Was there when Little Red won and we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights right at the carousel. Spot number 3 (Doin' it for Dale). Easy access to showers, concession stand less than 100 feet away. Very clean with plenty of free shuttles and shade tress. Great neighbors and a party atmosphere like in my top 10 of party atmospheres.

Really well thought out! My thoughts anchor on three points:
    - West Coast:
Needs more cup presence. Laguna Seca, Portland, Long Beach, Auto Club Short Track, a local short track upgraded out the wazoo. Something to support Sonoma and the others.
    - International:
Continue the start in North America by adding Montreal, then the next goals are UK, Aussie (and New Zealand!!!), and Japan. UK (Brands Hatch) has popular Euro Nascar events that can start European events, Aussie and New Zealand have big Speedway communities, and Japan has Motegi. But Motegi has to be repaired before use.
    - Dirt:
Bristol dirt got better and better each year, but there needs to be a real home for it. Eldora is an easy starting point, but you just need to make ammends with Tony, and a second race (West Coast) would give it the legitimacy of being on the calendar like how Road courses had 2 tracks for the longest time. Dirts in NASCARS' D.N.A., and most of the best have come from it.
    Some other things:
    - Compromise by going back to the Chase format (unfortunately playoffs here to stay... just make the "owners championship" full season points): 1 plate race, 1 dirt, 2 Road/ street courses, 3 short tracks (

They could go to what Formula E did when they ran at Long Beach and cut out the Fountain Section, but that puts the track at risk of loosing what makes it iconic, also they could cut part of the section that leads up too the hairpin, or possibly do what Formula One did when the U.S. GP West was a thing of the 1970s and 1980s and extend the run up to the hairpin.

3:27 I would absolutely attend a race at Kentucky, as, if they came back, it would be the closest track to me. Like an hour and a half drive, with Indy being 3 hours & Bristol being about 3 and a half hours. I apparently went to the Busch Series race there back in 2009, but I don't remember that. Kentucky left the schedule, right before I got my driver's license and my own car. I'd love one race there with the Next Gens. I believe it would be much better than the Gen 6 product.

Calder Park Thunderdome in Australia return. The facility, especially its road course layout, was renovated and revived a year or two ago. The oval circuit still needs a bit of renovation to be raced on, but it can realistically be done now. This comes after the entire facility was abandoned for decades like North Wilkesboro Speedway was. Another Aussie facility that can be used for races is the Adelaide International Raceway. It also was unused for a decade or two before the road course was revived. The oval circuit also needs a bit of renovation to be raced on, but it can also realistically be done. In fact, NASCAR, and the long defunct AUSCAR (NASCAR’s Australian series), once raced on both oval circuits. NASCAR had a couple of Cup series exhibition races at both circuits in the 1980s (the first international exhibition races outside of North America in NASCAR’s history) and AUSCAR regularly racing at both circuits throughout its existence in the 1980s and 1990s. Argentina also has a nearly 3 mile long oval circuit that IndyCar (but never NASCAR surprisingly enough) raced on in the 1970s. It, like the other two aforementioned circuits, was abandoned for years before being renovated and revived, and is still used to this day, like the other two aforementioned circuits were/are (though this is for its road course layout like the other two aforementioned circuits also are). It too (like the other two aforementioned oval layout circuits) needs some more renovation on the oval circuit layout, but a race can be held again at the oval circuit layout.

  • @theprince1822

I think NASCAR should start spreading out more. If all three series are racing one week, they don't all need to be at the same track. Maybe one year Chicagoland is a Xfinity series only racetrack, while cup goes to Kentucky and Trucks race on dirt. Then next year cup and Xfinity trade Chicago and Kentucky. Maybe while Xfinity and Cup go to Montreal, Trucks can return to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Chicagoland needs to come back for the cup series. It put on incredible racing. Just look at 2018 and 2019 as examples. Add to that the fact that the next gen has shown promise at intermediates, and it’s no wonder why NASCAR should make a return. I think Eldora for the cup series would be a fun one to race on. The truck series put on great shows there. Why not try it for cup? Plus it would give the chance for the cup series to go to a REAL dirt track. (Looking at you Bristol dirt.) Completely agree with you on Montreal. In the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, XFINITY was so fun to watch there. I think a return would be awesome.

Here’s the issue with Motegi. There isn’t a demand for racing to take place on the oval. The damages that occurred during the 2011 Japanese earthquakes. Indycar last raced there in 2011. Could indycar go there for a race? Maybe, which brings up another issue with that region being Motegi isn’t that large of a town and can’t fit everything needed where it has only 2 entrances and exits which are located in similar areas of the track

Seeing those cars coming down the corkscrew would be phenomenal. A good idea also would be to move Championship weekend to Vegas and instead of running the oval, run the street circuit F1 runs. Have NASCAR there first weekend of November, then F1 the second week of November.

Memphis raceway I think deserves a race. With Bristol being in the eastern part of the state and Nashville getting a track there is no race for the west Tennessee/northern Mississippi/eastern Arkansas market. Mississippi, Arkansas, & Louisiana all don’t have a race that’s local. Yeah you can say Nashville or Talladega but those tracks Ard 5+ hours away from Mississippi, Louisiana, & Arkansas. Memphis gives all those fans a local track. It gave us good racing in the past in Busch and trucks, it’s in a good market, & you could do something like slapshoes hinted at with the Tennessee triple crown. The three short tracks of Tennessee. Bristol, Nashville, Memphis. Makes a lot of sense.

I believe Chicagoland's future was threatened by real estate development, and that's one of the reasons why we've been racing in Chicago proper the last two years, but as far as I can tell, the facility is still standing.
A return to Kentucky Speedway *SHOULDN'T* be that controversial. That event was starting to build momentum with back-to-back electric, dare I say "instant classic" finishes in 2019 and 2020, its last two years on the schedule, but the online peanut gallery had already made its mind up by then, just like they ignore all the good Brickyard finishes (with the exception of Xfinity last year).
The question I have about Motegi is whether or not the necessary repairs have ever been made to the oval, because if you don't know, the oval was damaged in an earthquake in 2011 (the Fukushima one, I believe), and that's why IndyCar's final flyaway race over there was run on the road course for the one and only time.

It just takes CA forever to plan, develop, and build things, the track is happening and it's different than y'all have thought it up to be.

sadly kentucky speedway will never race again the track is falling apart , there is a bunch of covid era cars parked there by chevy or ford or something. there are no hotels in the area and the highway infrastructure there is so crappy that it can't handle the traffic from it.

NASCAR should just give up having races in SoCal. That region mainly LA just doesn't care about auto racing except for the IndyCar/IMSA weekend.

NASCAR NEEDS MIDWEST = THE 1 MILE AT PIKES PEEK ( FOUNTIN COLO) IS PERFECT / INDY & TRUCKS PROVED IT PERFECT FOR THE COLO MARKET / WORTH THE INVESTMENT TRY / ONLY 80 MILES SOUTH OF DENVER / COLO SPRINGS AIRPORT 10 MILES //

Motegi racing complex woudk be great but the road course at Motegi is not good for heavy car races. The IndyCar finale that raced there in 2010 feaking sucked.

@@kaijuwarrior8917 yes there was a track called Pikes Peak International Raceway that the xfinity series and I believe the truck series used to race at. It is still used today but not for nascar, mostly local gatherings for car enthusiasts.
