How to repair the front cigarette power outlet in a BMW E53 X5. The most common issue is that fuse no. 25 in the glove box is blown.

Lol, I've owned my '06 330ci since 2012, & I've never been able to open the glove compartment box! It's been locked from the day I bought it, & too scared to want to force it.
I accidentally pushed too hard on the clock setting button (that little black nob sticking out of the plastic cover in front of the speedometer,) a year ago & somehow broke that. Haven't been able to set the clock since...lol, point of the story: I'm not pushing anything anymore!

Thanks! I had a problem with my passenger door, window, and mirror not getting power. I thought it was the module that controls these function by prying out the window control box on the door but that didn't work. I wasn't sure where the fuse box was so I searched and found this video. It was a blown fuse. This was a great help. Thanks again!

Mikesfunbox hello, i have the same problem with my passenger door not unlocking. Is this the same problem you had? If so, which fuse was the fix?
Check the legend on your fuse box above the fuses. It's a 30 amp fuse. I believe it was the 5th or 6th from the right side. You will see in this video that there are 30 amp fuses in those locations . If one of them is burnt you will need to replace it. I actually had no power to the door lock, window and side mirror. Good luck.

Really useful video and u have such a nice example of the E53 X5! Quick question no air is coming out of the vents but the climate control screen still works as well as the buttons.

Woah, I never knew there were spare fuses in there!! Is this the case on the e46 3 series? I've got a 2006 330ci, & mine's not blown, but it gets way too hot for me to be comfortable plugging my Samsung charger in it, especially when it never used to do that.
Cheers for the video. Helped me locate my fuses easily so I could fix Trans Failsafe Prog and Engine Failsafe Prog errors after messing with the OBD port wiring. Fuse 31 had blown on my 2004 4.8iS!

My mode button on my receiver along with the button to set the clock aren't working. If I reset the fuses, do you think that can fix the functionality of the button? I was able to follow the adapter video and add the aux cable to the radio!! Thanks for that!
Hey Darian, I would assume if the rest of the radio buttons are still functioning that it's not a fuse issue. You may actually need to replace the radio if individual buttons have stopped functioning. Or there may be a possible repair if you have the patience to take it apart!
BIMMER ZEIT I was thinking that I probably would have to replace it. Now it's just trying to find the most cost effective replacement unit. If you know of any good sites, let me know.

I'm having so much trouble opening my fuse box
I have 2005 X5 3.0i and my heated seats do not work. Once the button is pushed it stays lit for 3 seconds and then turns off. Not sure if it is a fuse or what. Any suggestions? Which fuse number is it under? Thanks in advance.
APPBURY locate the fuse box then look at the fuse box diagram & number fuse the locate yr seat fuse then see if it's damage.
