I’ve even learning Cantonese as my grandmother’s language and Mandarin as my grandfather’s language. I have observed and concluded that Cantonese is easier/simpler to learn than Mandarin and I learn it every week.
Hi Bill, Thank you for your message, we're glad that you're enjoying our videos. In my humble opinion, I agree that Cantonese is more beautiful than Mandarin :p Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Team CantoneseClass101.com
I am turning 49 on Sunday, and I have been promising myself for the last decade that I would learn a new language. I love Cuba, so Spanish was my first pick. However, I live in Vancouver, and there is a large Asian population here, I'm missing out on an entire world right here at home! I want to learn Cantonese and Mandarin first, as I feel it is more useful and will be great for making new friends right here at home, as well as learning about a new culture. I am very excited at the prospect. Here goes day one.
Thank you for the suggestion! We'll add it to the list for future production :) Have fun learning Cantonese, and feel free to ask if you have any questions :) Team CantoneseClass101.com

My middle name is Olivia. Question: when the Cantonese word you use begins with C, it sounds like you begin word with T or D. Is that my ears hearing wrong?
In the Cantonese romanization system, c sounds similar to /ch/ in English, but the tongue is a bit more to the back. We have a lesson explaining all the consonants on our site, check it out when you have time, and get a free lifetime account :) www.cantoneseclass101.com/lesson/ultimate-cantonese-pronunciation-guide-6-cantonese-consonants-part-3/?lp=50 Team CantoneseClass101.com

Hi, is it necessary to included the "dou1" in the "I drink coffee every morning"?
It can be said without "dou1", but it's more natural with it.
