@@NielsHeusinkveld Eventhough I partly agree with you, it needs to be said that it get's obviously harder and harder for developers to track down issues simply due to the insane amount of hardware and software combinations these days and with updates being automated. With some of the issues seen here in the video I couldn't even tell if it's simply caused by client side issues or not. I have been experiencing similar stutters in other titles and sometimes the fixes are simple, sometimes not. I recently fired up AMS1 and I get insane stutters when AI enters the garage for example. I had stutters in AC and fixed it with a frame cap. On the other hand I run LMU with a 6700k and a GTX 1070 in 2,4 races and have zero issues with performance or stutters since day 1. What needs to be fixed are the join/leave lags - they weren't as severe as they are with the latest update.

    Exactly jimmy 👍🏻
Too many fan boys and developers with chips on shoulders….
I often swap sims, then get annoyed with the one thing that sim does poorly and move on to repeat elsewhere for a few months and onto the next. lol
It’s like AMS2 people are so aggressive defending it, and I’m like yeah it’s fun but it feels like spongy ice and there’s weird ghosts at night.
Iracing has the whole cost, and I specifically like LMP so the unrealistic speeds and hybrid bugs are annoying AF.
Then ACC just runs diabolically even with on my beast machine and the FFB is pretty dreadful, but it does have great feeling of weight and audio
The problem with LMU is that everybody hates MSG and they are charging a subscription and for DLC in an early access game with bugs, the latest update appears to have brought back the odd session time bug too 🤦🏻‍♂️
At least it’s not long to wait for EVO - maybe we can all get back to just having fun with our hobby again…

The constant fighting is starting to really annoy me. But people have also lost the plot with where they think simracing is, or what it is. This is a very niche market with few small teams making industry leading titles. Just add raceroom to your list and that is every single actively updated racing sim on the market. Yet having to spend some money on a DLC to support these studios is a bridge too far. If you actually look at LMU it isn't in a worse state than the other sims. If LMU dies taking S397 with them there won't be anything to replace it. Honestly I could see a reality where in a few years the market is literally just Kunos and iRacing. They have the money to keep building a gap nobody will ever close from scratch.

The stuttering that you got in the race is alot like the other stuttering me and a friend has gotten in other steam games like CS2. I can relate to the issues. I couldn't even play LMU when it came out because it, for some reason, completely tanked my PC with a 5700X3D, a 6650XT, and 32GB of RAM. Like 20-30 fps on minimum settings with AI on track. Got told I was being entitled and unreasonable for expecting a $30 game that's actually just a conversion mod for a 10+ year old game to work properly.
Simracers love sitting around justifying all the critical flaws in their favorite products instead of wanting them all to be better. Sitting around sucking off the developers just to make yourself feel better about your favorite video game's problems is beyond stupid. AMS2's multiplayer issues are ridiculous, LMU's performance is unacceptable, ACC's VR support is awful, iRacing's pricing is downright predatory, Rennsport still exists, all of these things can be true at once and we can and should want all of them to be better.

For me playing on a single screen it's been tidy, but it suffered with crashes alot beginning of the year, which was a mix of bugs in the game and oddly something to do with Moza software which I didn't expect. Moza fixed that not long ago. I've got 54 races in game now and it's been lovely, but today i did have one shader issue in a race at monza everything turned black and i could just see outlines of shapes, i had to pull over and RTP i was gutted as it was going to be the win or atleast a podium. But it's definitely going in the right direction, aslong as the money doesn't dry up!. Quick question. Jimmy keeps referring to rF2, when the game is Le Mans Ultimate. What has rF2 got to do with LMU? Never mind, I now know why he kept referring to rF2. And from what I've read, the devs have gone in the wrong direction, as far as dlc's and not having private servers for players are concerned. It appears they have gone down the route of EA. In as such, doing a money grab. And screwing the player base over. So sad that this business model is used.

i feel like jimmy is fairly chill when it comes to stuff like this, however this is a 30 dollar game, with not one not two but three 20 dollar dlcs, stutters like the ones found in this race and simple ui bugs like the ones he had in the pits over the last two races should not be happening, if your game is that unpolished it should not cost someone so much money to have all the content available, of course if you buy all of it then you’re subjecting yourself to unfinished work HOWEVER you are allowed to have an opinion because you did spend your money and expect quality

    • @gavnixs
      @gavnixs 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

I'd argue, as Jimmy does, that it's actually the individuals we need most in the simracing community. Too many people keep coming up with stuff like 'they're working hard', as did you. No one here is claiming they are not working on it, or being lazy, or singling out specific developers for that matter. But the fact is that they are selling a WEC official videogame that runs poorly, is littered with bugs and that just isn't a very comfortable experience for anyone, while still charging money for the base game, DLCs and online play. Whether all those decisions are coming from management or if its devs not knowing how to work around bugs in a by now ancient (for gaming standards) engine doesn't matter for the end result.
If you and / or the simracing community want simracing to become better, keep the bar high. No one is benefiting from saying that 'it'll get better probably but it's good enough for now'. Not the current players, not the new players that will instantly uninstall a game that runs this poorly, nor the simracing community bcs more players means more money, and bad games don't get more players involved, look at the LMU player count if you want that confirmed.
None of this means that specific devs should be heavily criticized, no one should be mean, and everyone can enjoy whatever game they want no matter how good or bad the experience, but these companies can and should do better, making excuses for them helps literally no one.

They work hard, and have good intentions. But the game has had strange things happen to people for about 13 years. At some point, 'working hard' stops being good enough. And releasing paid early access DLC, while random things happen randomly, can leave a sour taste in the mouth. Criticism is valid and justified in my opinion. Nobody WANTS it to be randomly weird, but it just keeps being this year after year after year. If the game sucked it wouldn't matter, but there is a great game in there when it works..
But a bit like iRacing having terrible tires since 1998, you get the feeling RF2 based games will simply have the odd random thing happen that can spoil the otherwise excellent experience. It's a shame really.
