    My grandmother use to do turkey breasts like this more than 50 years ago and bake it in a wood burning oven. Home grown mash potatoes, honey glazed carrots, sweet corn, fresh homemade bread and afterwards...apple pie right from the oven with cheddar cheese and vanilla ice cream. Guess what is on the menu for Christmas dinner this year. LOL!!!! We have been trying to recreate the old traditional meals for OUR grand kids so that the tradition never dies and they LOVE it. They still have not got the hang of sour kraut, head cheese horse radish and parsnips. LOL!!!!
    Thank you for posting this so others can carry on this fantastic tradition.

    As a relative beginner I sure would have liked to have seen the deboning procedure.

      You can have your butcher do it.

      bogeysbaby Same here. The folks who work in the meat departments in our grocery stores aren’t even considered butchers anymore and they absolutely will not debone a turkey breast, unfortunately.

      At the stores I shop at they do.

      I winged it and it went well. Sharp knife, start following the breast bone along the back. Loosen it all around the bones, then I turn it over and slice the last bit at the bottom from outside. I managed to get one leg off, then ended up throwing the rest of the carcass with wings into a big pot to boil down for soups, casseroles, Raman, etc. With this recipe you can easily work the smaller pieces (or even some dark meat) in during the pounding process. Be extra careful with the knife, more risk of cutting yourself than usual. I'm only feeding my daughter and I, the rest I give to neighbors or the local homeless.

    Sadly people in my family prefer the dark meat...However they also love bacon, so some day I might do this using the bacon for the coating.

    Just wondering if I could buy a fresh turkey, prepare, vacuumed seal and freeze?

    • @NoreensKitchenOfficial
      @NoreensKitchenOfficial  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not recommend freezing this before cooking. The stuffing will absorb much to much moisture and it will seep out during the cooking process.

    This looks wonderful !!!!! I can see me eating a sandwich with cranberry sauce the next day.
    Do you think it would work with chicken breast? If so I have everything to do it , I would wrap them in bacon.
