They are deemed leftovers because they are no longer ideal mates if the guy wants to have children. At that age, it is more likely for the girl to find a life partner rather than to start a family. You need to study more about human biology, especially on the risk of conceiving a child after 35 for females. Apart from increasing chances of the child having genetic defects and down syndrome, the mother also risks higher complications during delivery.

And this is how it works: Earn good money and marry soon so you can (have to) move in with your parents into the house your husband is supposed to buy and babysit them for the rest of their lives. Financial success is fine, but at end of the day, your loved ones provide you with more happiness than your job, and marriage means finding a love one that can accompany you through life but I wasted that time getting a PhD instead, lol. Fortunately I live in US and don't plan to date/live in China so there's a bit less of that mentality. I am a little intimidated by my upcoming trip back home to China tho, lol, because it will be a week of various relatives asking me why I'm not married and leftover women blah blah blah. That's why living your life as you want it, be financially independent and getting away from toxic ppl is so important. I don't give a f about what others say and think about me. If I'm a "left over" woman, I'm proud of it! As long as women are healthy and wealthy, nothing else has to matter.

Out of the 3 countries Japan-South Korea-China, this one is the most extreme one. I feel so sad hearing those old people's opinions and demands. Hope Chinese matured women out there finds their happiness not only based on age and relationship things, but being truth to themselves.

      Exactly correct!
And the Chinese have known this reality long before Modern Science was invented.
Younger and more vigorous wombs and eggs produce healthy offspring.
Older and less vigorous wombs and eggs produce defective offspring.
By mating and procreating at the best breeding age, females put themselves in a position to produce robust offspring, which is like winning the lottery.
It is a waste of life and of time to be investing in defective offspring if and when they can be avoided by mating before wombs and eggs are practically worthless.
