Oh man, thank you. I thought i was the only one.
I'm 900+ hours in and i'm always on the lookout for nearly anything, clicking my way throught the tabs like "Were was this sh!t again FFS?"
Serpent can actually be really useful.
Obviously, it can let you take clues from a distance, so you don't have to deal with the steonger AI guarding it. And in a pinch, you can swipe the bounty during a gunfight.
But its real value comes from its Solo-Bonus.
If you're playing solo, its range extends from 25m to 50m. Which isn't bad.
But for new players, or people who aren't familiar with metric, this can be a GREAT way to learn in-game ranges!
Most weapons have a maximum effective range. But unless you've spent 1000's of hours in Hunt, you won't know them by heart.
Serpent can tell you EXACTLY where 50 meters is if you play with your positioning, and you can use that to accelerate your map knowledge!
There's a few things you said I disagree with.
1. Don't ignore Respec, if you are solo without necromancer use 3 big bars, if you are a solo with necromancer or playing teams it's best to run with all tiny bars.
2. Hunter mode and Gunslinger both have benefits to each other and the only advantage hunter has is a further out POV slider. (Edit: the POV is the same now they changed it so even that isn't an advantage) You can hold Q to hide your weapon when you go near walls in Gunslinger mode, Gunslinger has a slight advantage that you always see the cross hair so you know where you are aiming perfect for new players and you don't have to learn the new control set since it's standardized. Just remember to hide your gun when near walls.
Which one you use is definitely a preference thing.

"DO NOT PRESTIGE" is quite intuitive I think, unless you burn away all your money and arsenal reserves. I've been at prestige two for the past 500 hours
I prestige when there are no events going on, I enjoy unlocking everything again. The devs are looking at a rework of prestige in an update soon.
Nah I always prestige when it's available. Gives me something to work up towards again. I am about 300 hours in and prestige 6 so far

Don’t worry about 3 starring all the challenges. Just get a star or two in as many of the trials as you can!
A true newbie. Runs full tilt. Sets off every dog and crow. Uses bullets on grunts. Then dies to an ambush and leaves.

Don't encourage people not to prestige. Prestiging teaches you so much about the game and makes you play better. People that don't prestige get stuck on a skill ceiling where they can't get any better
I agree. Though I will say some people really don't like that grind and people should play how they want. But i will always prestige and I think doing so is fun. I don't think it is necessary to get good at the game. I do think that some people need to do it to become more comfortable in the game.
@@toombstone9596 It's definitely also good to get comfortable in this game. But I can also say out of experience (7000+ hours and played since the early access release) that all my teammates have gotten better after they started prestiging and the same happened for me. It teaches you to play a wider variety of weapons in a wide variety of situations which definitely comes in handy and teaches you a lot about the game. But I do agree with you that everyone should play however they want. But I still wouldn't encourage people to never prestige. But it's expectable, this youtuber seems to think Psychoghost is a good hunt player so that says enough.
What does prestiging do for you in terms of skill progression? If your point is that it forces you to use different weapons and tools before getting to your favourites, I hope that you'll agree that people that diversify their loadouts are not missing out on anything
@@TechPriestFredit forces players to go back to the fundamentals. I’d encourage newer players to prestige once or twice. From there they’ll know if they’re the kind of player who wants to go for the prestige grind, or if they value keeping all their unlocks more.

@@Moriartie1 The only key binding I think I have changed is switching darksense and interacting. Aiming down sights with shift is just something I have gotten used to

No shame in that. This game is hard and every death means you learned something! Just focus on finding ways to have fun and enjoy your time above all else :)

Hunter is objectively worse than Gunslinger other than if you are used to it. Hunter has no advantages over gunslinger and it is also harder to get used to. A game that requires a lot of attention to get good at needing to worry about pressing shift every time you aim is very frustrating, so yeah gunslinger baby
i have 3k hours with gunslinger controlls dont trust this guy at 7:10, there is no reason to use hunter over gunslinger since you can pretty much do the same with holding Q. also another thing he got wrong is that doing the tutorial gives you BBs (they removed that ages ago).
Aggression wins in this game. Ive Brute forced my way into compounds and destroyed hunters. Ive been knocked down and watch rando teammates try to be sneaky it doesnt work.

This video actually got me back into the game. For the love of God why did the developers make their menu screen look like absolute trash but the game is amazing ? I've uninstalled this game three different times over the past 2 years and this video got me to reinstall it. I like to think I'm not a dumb dumb but this is just one of those menu screens that is almost just not worth it. I know at least two other friends that stopped playing because the menu screen was so bad. This is basically first person Vigor with a horror theme and NPCs.
Too many loud effects and cut screens.
