I misspoke on the Sundara pads! They are just clipped on, so it is pretty easy to switch out. If anything that makes the Sundara an even easier pick. Thanks to @CammyFi for pointing this out! Check out his TH-cam channel if you're looking for more audio content. He reviews a bunch of stuff as well. Thanks CammyFi!
I understand that this is slightly off topic but I was just wondering what you thought, as your videos have always been great aid, what would be better, THE hs65 or HS70 pro, thanks for the amazing content and have a great day,
Its a good idea to enable loudness equalization feature for Nova 7/ Nova 7 Pro? I dont know where to ask this, so I did here. Sorry if it is bothering you. Thanks!
Dude Cammy thanks so much for calling that out. I don’t know what made me think mine were glued but apparently I never pulled mine hard enough to pop the clip out. I’ll pin a comment. Thanks again
Thanks for this excellent review. Like you, I was hoping I might love these headphones. Unfortunately, the poor fit on a smaller head and the bass problems you mentioned are dealbreakers for me.
Great review, you are already one of the best reviewers for audio gear. Thanks especially for talking about EQ options. Too many in the audiophile space ignore it entirely but not everyone wants to spend loads of money chasing different performance from headphones. Look forward to more reviews~
@@CammyFi If you understood the build philosophy, you'd get why its so barebones. Sound and comfort suffer greatly when you start adding unnecessary material to a headphone, hence why the he1000 is the second most resolving, and most comfortable headphone I've ever tried. Find something specific about the build to knock, then we'll talk (You can't).
Hello I want to buy my first headphones with amp etc... Bu I have to make a choice between the Moondrop para and the sennheiser hd 600. Who is the best for a gaming usage ?
For strictly gaming usage, the Para. I simply did not find the HD 600 to be very good for that purpose. The soundstage is too narrow and the HD 600 doesn't image very well in games. I had none of those problems with the Para and you're getting a soundstage similar to the HD 800 S with the Para for a quarter of the price.
Thank you for mentioning the bass distortion! I've been watching reviews for the Para ever since they originally dropped, and you're the only person who actually mentioned this. Just saved me a huge headache! And thank you for throwing in a comparison with the Ananda, the headphone I was considering buying the Para as a replacement for. Guess I'll need to keep searching, but at least I won't be searching by throwing money at the wrong thing!
"my headband is not aligned" proceeds to bend the living out of it to show pads. No shit its bent. Its a thin metal band and metal bends. Sorry but i couldn't not say this
Hey I have a question, what is the biggest difference between for example a headphone like nova 7x and a sennheiser 560S? Which do you recomnend more when it comes to gaming and music? Which has the better audio quality?
Great review, I hope you get your hands on the Verum 2's when they are available. It seems other reviewers have sworn off reviewing the previous version and well despite the controversy that occurs to me as bordering on non-consumer friendly/ gatekeeping on their end. The mid range price planar market is a hollowed out shell, soon enough someone somewhere will actually offer a good set, essentially a LCD 2 but for 500-1000 but that has just not happened yet (sadly), for me the Verum's were far and away the best set I ever did try in this bracket. They were also very light and were 32 ohm/ stupendously easy to drive.
The Verum 1 mk2 sound and design are indeed great, but they are 8 ohms like the Paras, not 32, and while they are easy to drive, they are very hard to drive to their potential. (The Verum 2 is 12 ohms, I believe.) They really want to see under an ohm from an amp, plus serious current, which means either a fairly expensive or extremely arcane amp. Then there's the angled plugs, which Igor (Mr. Verum) says are necessary for consistent contact, which means you'll need to get custom made replacement/balanced cables. As for the "controversy", I agree with you; but the fact is that it's only distracted from the more salient reason to avoid Verum, which is that the quality control and customer service are utterly unacceptable. There are legit companies offering first-quality products that are at least within eq-able range of sounding as good, for more or less the same money now. Take it from a miserable, regretful Verum customer: You don't need this s..t.
Btw it feels to me that it’s an amp issue for the distortion, this worries me as well…I’d like to try them but I recently found my perfect IEM setup with the Fiio K11 DAC/AMP and I don’t know if it drives enough current for headphones like that…what amp did you use for your review?
Don't get wireless things, there are always drawbacks on the sound. If you really have to, I suggest the Epos H3pro. The rest are too expensive for the audio quality they provide
You should really try them for yourself. For example there is a lot of praise for SteelSeries nova pro wireless but for me it's meh at best. I'd say buy something relatively cheap and which sound you can tolerate. For me it's hyperx wireless headphones and Fidelio x2hr when I don't need wireless.
Im sorry ive watched your reviews for so long without realizing i wasnt subbed. YOU ARE THE BEST REVIEWER ON TH-cam FOR TECH 100% i hope more people sub to you
I really wanted a shakeup in the sub $500 planar space. It's mostly dominated by Hifiman which isn't a horrible thing, but having other strong planar magnetic openbacks in the sub $500 range that looks good/is comfortable AND sounds good is a win for consumers. I'm glad Audeze and FiiO released some more options, but I was hoping with the value that Moondrop usually brings with IEMs, we would have something very compelling at their asking price.

The Sundara pads aren't glued on lol. They're clipped on. I don't think Hifiman has ever released a headphone without swappable earpads.

The Sundara pads come off..It's not the greatest design but they can be swapped no problem.

I ordered the MoonDrop Para after my HiFiMan 5XX failed after 3 years of use ...
How is it?And would you recommend buying them over something else?
Dekoni just released 2 new pads for the Maxwell. Will you do a review on both of them?
yup! They are in transit
do wickedcushions not make a pad ith this shape that you can use that magnet thing and lot in? do you think you could look in to this?
To be honest I haven't looked into it. I actually quite like the pads on the Para. I had issues with other things
