Britain's Global Defense's path in question (literally just took both Germany and Italy in late 1938 while getting two achievements with that):
The thing is that when you dissolve Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina into separate countries they will not do industry focuses until 1939, that’s how they’re programmed to do. But if you do a united Croatia and united Bosnia and Herzegovina they will do industry focuses immediately

just another "UNİTED" day
a few things: puppeting hungary and bulgaria still works, and you can gain all of their cores. also, splitting bosnia and croatia makes them less likely to choose industrial focuses earlier, however in the long term, it's usually better to
don't forget getting Romania as Transilvania gets cores on a lot of land (plus fun achievement)
Plus if Hungary went Habsburg - you'd potentially have cored Austria and Czechoslovakia as well

If you do the dissolve foci you want a subcountry with at least two sectors or else the industry focuses will be done last. If the subcountry has at least two it will be doing industry very quickly.

He joined on the allied side, which were on the defender’s side of the war. Thus Yugoslavia was the defender in this war.

Been watching all your Hoi4 videos and just love that your also a Grand Battleplan enjoyer,
if you want to be extra spicy with entrenchment, then build infantry tanks with Dozer Blades, (Unlocked with Level 2 Engineers) these blades stack, meaning every different tank model that's in a division, it increases the entrenchment by 1, so if you have Light Tank Recon, Flame Tank Support, Self Propelled Guns, Self Propelled Anti Air, and even Base Tanks, that's 5 or more extra entrenchment level, this also stacks with Engineers.
Go even further with Grand Battleplan, Elevated Engineer Corps, Static Warfare, and if you have a Defensive Field Marshal, you can make him an Entrenchment Specialist, which also stacks with all of the above.
Quite easy to get over 100% entrenchment, becoming an absolutely insane wall, can even be done without air support thanks to the AA support.
@Chaotic Florius they didnt build industry becouse if the country only has one state then the indrustry tree will be the last one to be picked, if the country has 2 and more states they will prioritise the industry tree
Adding to this, single state countries are hardcoded to wait until 1939 to take industry focuses. That's why you release a united Bosnia.
I play yugoslavia a lot and just wanted to tell everyone that the puppets always go down the same parts of the focus tree for example: slovenia will always go down industrial path and dalmacia will always go down the navy path.

Helpful tip about the hoi4 ai we have found if you keep the nation's from Yugoslavia together like Croatia they have higher likely hood to their industry focus but if you split them they tend to them a lot later
It like 1939 to 1941 it pretty big difference

I don't remember the details, but 1 state nations are indeed hard coded to avoid the industry focuses for as long as possible. They will eventually complete the industry focuses, but it may be 2-3 in-game years before the 1-state nations complete industry focuses.

A quick thing to add for when you desolve your nation is that the ai takes the industrial path if it has more than one state. Case in point, Slovenia having 3 states went down the industrial path while divided Croatia having one state went down the naval tree.

You can cilck on the supply depo (in supply map-mode) and disable allies resupply by clicking the blue flag.

I think the Reunite the Kingdom focus also gives cores on Bulgaria if you have them as a puppet. I remember this happening in NSB
The Yugoslavian front is so massively underrated in history, everyone talks about the eastern front and the Landing on Normandy
But the resistance and fight the Yugoslavians put against us Germany (for the most part) is unbelievable I would say they were the best preforming compared to how much they were supported, the initial invasion put very small numbers on both the axis and Yugoslavia, but when Croatia was put on control of the region the numbers started getting so high due to guerilla fighting, ethnic cleansing and executions committed by the Ustasha, they were so horrible and went too far even nazi Commanders and Wehrmacht generals protested their actions and told them they were going too far, eventually Yugoslavia suffered half a million military deaths alone, more than what the french and British suffered even with accounting their subjects and colonies and as well as the USA
just in the initial war against Yugoslavia (April War) the nazis documented that they captured over 300k yugoslavian soldiers as prisoners of war so in total the military deaths number is way higher than people normally think.

one of your puppets is transylvania, which actually has a lot of territories in romania, i think that if you give transylvania these territories and then annex it trough the focus u can core that

Hey Florius, the issue with the puppet not doing industry focuses is because you need to do the focus that releases croatia for example as one nation, not two if I remember

Tip: you could have saved the game each time you are about to release your land as puppets then load back until you get a save in which the go for construction and you could have a broken amount by the end

Just have to say this: I am currently trying to follow your guide and it's funny: I am at March 1939 and almost every puppet just started the industrial effort focus (except slovenia who have done all theirs). Almost feels like this is baked into the code :)

yeah when i played as a divided yugo i just edited the generic focus tree, made the industry muuuch higher priority for ai. i preferred it that way just cause its the order anyone would do, even if its spammy for building slots
I've found out that your puppets will do industry focuses first if they have more that one state otherwise they will do research focuses first
It was in one of the previous patch notes, that pupets will be very less likely to do industrial focuses as 1st things as it was broken as fk for some countries... not sure which one tho, but I think perhaps Italy and Ethiopia? Dont know, still you would need to wait for like a year or two for them to pickup industrial focuses for sure

Fun fact I’m ethically northern Macedonian because my uncle from my moms side left the kingdom of Yugoslavia which was dismounted in 1959 Tito took control in 1947 or 1948 I believe
Also should mention during communist regime the king still held a degree of power under communist socialist republic of Yugoslavia
so we had a cursed kingdom of Communism and had a king communist.
Hey i have a suggestion if you open to them,
There is a mod called "better mechanics: frontline" and in the description of it there is also 4 additional mods...they're all small in size and they don't give any buffs to ai or debuffs to players but when i tried them they make the ai significantly better at managing and deploying troops and airforce without intervening in the gameplay or focuses tree or anything at all just make the ai plays better
Ever since i played the mod i can't play without it because vanilla ai is just so stupid and easy but seems not many people know about it and not a single content creator has gave it a chance even though they gave "expert ai" mod a chance
Idk if its just me being fed up with vanilla ai or the mods are actually good so since you're a pretty much expert in hoi4 i would love if you gave it a chance even in your private time and see if its good and give us your honest opinion on the mod

Fun fact: you can also core all Transilvania as Yugoslavia if you have entire Transilvania as puppet and done this focus tree.
If I were you, I would have let the Banovinas live throughout the war until the Allies started winning. Why?
a) More time for them to finally start working on their industry focuses
b) the Axis declares war on you, Serbia - not your semi-independent Banovinas, meaning they can only attack you through Romania and Bulgaria unless you call your puppets in
But I'm not good at the game so idk if my strat would actually be any better than reuniting for the industry before the war tbh
You can also go down brown ideology, release everyone except Vojvodina and Banat, take reinforce old alliance and axis interest. After the civil war you can pick up allied one. You get insane stability and pp gain.

The puppet ai only ever dose the industrial focuses after 1939(they seem to have changed that). The divisons are still good tho

You still get cores on pulpets when uniting but only balkans states (before it was any state of countries you had puppeted) also I think one province ciuntries will only do industry after like 1939 now

I heard if you released Croatia an Bosnia etc. together they will do industry focuses right from release, but this way, those pupets will start in 1939 or something like that
splitting up croatia and bosnia is actually bad because ai countries with the default focus tree will only do their industrial branch after 1938 (so 1939 onwards) IF they only control one state
thats why slovenia (who has 2 states) did their industrial tree, whereas the croatian and bosnian states didnt straight away

Even if u want to defend, afaik, you should still pick the Army offense guy because his bonus will be usefull for both defending and attacking as you use the same stats anyway. The defense guy will only help u defend.
