I lost my father suddenly last week. I packed all my fall stuff up today. And I’m clinging to the calmness and hope and joy of Christmas too. This was perfect to watch today. Thank you ❤

Dear Ally - I've been watching your videos for years & I'm currently catching up the last few months. I'm going through a challenging & uncertain time since I lost my mom a few months ago, the day I found out I am officially a doctor, so I'm truly feeling the bitterness & sweetness of life.
I'm just trying to take it slow, soft & adjust and your content has been a part of healing, it always felt like a warm hug from an older sister.
I am eternally grateful for you staying true, vulnerable, cool & creating a safe space where we can all come & take a break from trying to find a place in this world 🤎

I store my pillows in vacuum seal bags. It cuts down the space used and preserves them pretty well.
I am so glad I found someone else who loves traditional red and green. And I love thrifting before I go to the stores as well. I found the cutest vintage christmas decor this year that I absolutely love. I love your videos.

I always get a neutral pillow cover for my seasonal decorative throw pillows - my Christmas pillows are stored in plain sight on the couch, but you'd never know because they're hidden by a fuzzy pillow cover! I bet you could find a neutral round cover for those cutie peppermint pillows and have them out year-round!
In my house we use timer for the outside lights and remotes for the inside one. We use so many remote plugs that we have a spreadsheet to work out what channels are using in each room. I like the remote for inside cos you can vary the about of light depending on what going on.
For decorative pillows, the vacuum storage bags are fantastic! You can store so many without taking up as much space!
Christmas decor is seriously something else 😍😍😍

This is a random idea but one I am doing this year: a Glimmer advent calendar. So a glimmer is like the opposite of a trigger, something small that inspires calm or happiness (I have chronic illness, so thats where the metaphor came from). I gave myself a budget to find small items/looked around my home + brainstormed activities that could be done each day for the whole month of December and wrapped them up with numbers. Holidays can be hard for chronic & mental illness folks like me, so its fun to make myself a thing I can look forward to every day. (I'm gonna have a vid on my channel about it, but thought its worth sharing in case anyone else is having a hard season)
