Thanks brother!! It's actually AVERY salsa, meaning my daughter's salsa 😆 But, my serano peppers last summer were a bit on the hot side, so I guess you could say the salsa was a bit angry 🤣 Thanks for watching buddy!!!!
This was an interesting MRE for sure. The accessory packets were much back then. '21 & up MREs really skimp on accessories. Some of them don't come with matches, creamer or sugar and they phased out hot sauce completely. Prior to that they had generic or Louisiana brand hot sauce and for a short had Tobacco brand. Sucks that hey got rid of the Tobacco bottles years ago.

@@jermsMRE As you keep progressing years you'll find the single packets of Tabasco, Louisiana & then Generic. Eventually just opting out of hot sauce altogether. But they just are not the same. I love these older accessory packets because you get so much. They also change the matches to a light tan color. Did you stumble on an old case of fresh '09 MREs ? Seems like you have many Menu's to watch
So, with the FRHs, DO NOT OVERFILL!!! I will not heat well with too much water. Actually I have had much better luck filling it below the fill lines. Also, adding salt to the water in the FRH usually leads to much better results, and makes the FRH get much hotter much quicker. Adding salt will, however, kill the heater faster. So it gets hotter with salt, but burns out faster. Still, I think it is a great trick and I always use salt in an FRH.
I always seem to overfill!! I will be much more careful next time. I put salt water in the one from my 2010 Maple Sausage video I just posted and I think that was the only reason it got warm. But, I overfilled LOL Thanks for watching and for commenting!!

First time I tried one, I half filled the bag thinking it would make it heat better. Didn't work at all. Didn't even get warm. Then I dumped out the water out threw the bag to the side and after being EMPTIED of water, it started sizzling in the trash! I was able to salvage it and actually heat the meal but my point is less is more with those things. Also, the older they are the less the seem to heat. I got a new one from 2021 and it near burned my hand just from starting to mix it and i dropped it and it started steaming on the floor! Thing went from cold tap to BOILING in 10 seconds flat! Anything older than 2015 seem to be barely functional and anything older is a dud.
Looking at the date code and the menu list 2009 was correct. Menu 22 for 2002 was Jambalaya. Which, sounds good so now I want to find that one LOL Thanks for being here Mark! I appreciate it!

It's kind of a trade off. The US rations seem to last way longer but the forein rations seem to be higher quality but not last as long. Thanks for watching!

I literally NEVER remember ANYONE using the hot beverage bag for anything related to eating. Other stuff, maybe, but not for the actual hot beverage.
