When i was at Wacken 2013 i was totally shocked, stunned, mezmorized and transfixed not only by Floors voice, but the tightness of the band, the crowd interaction, the lighting and sound. Remember this is a live concert and sound was better than on alot of cds. I thought Live Aid with Queen was amazing but Nightwish outdo Queen by miles. This whole concert was euphoric, orgasmic theres not enough words to say how exceptional Nightwish are.
@@Hansse Sure am. I will never forget it. Ive seen Nightwish 6 times last time November in UK and Wacken is the only concert that i will talk about and rave about as it was so god dn perfect on every level
Here, another step in your journey, and you have already noticed the diversity of the musical directions approached by the band. The fact that each of their songs sounds different, but at the same time is so distinctly Nightwish, is a testimony to the talent of the composer Tuomas Holopainen, considered by many to be one of the great composers of our time. Many surprises await you, ladies, and I'm glad to see them through the sparkle in your eyes. :)
Dear ladies - please consider very carefully if you want to continue into the Nightwish Universe - you will be addicted. .. Sorry - too late - you have already hooked and become members of the Nightwish Army - addicted for life😅 Just buckle up and open your minds for something incredible - Nightwish and Floor are going to carry you into a whole new musically universe, that will blow your minds. And sometimes in the near future, you will start digging deeper into the lyrics.... We are here to support you 👍 🤘 🤘
You will find, on your journey with Nightwish, that every song is different and excellent. Tuomas does not write filler songs. He gets an idea, starts writing the lyrics and composes the music in his head, which got him the nickname of 'Metal Mozart'. 😊🤘
To show Tuomas' talent is that Gen Gap Ladies need to react his solo song called Adventure of a Lifetime. Tuomas is a fan of Disney especially Scrooge McDuck. He wrote this song. Tuomas became friends with the artist who is second person to continue to draw Scrooge McDuck after original, Carl Banks artist died. Second Artist's name is Don Rosa. Tuomas has his wife also a singer sings his song.
@@MrTech226 A correction to the title of the song, it is A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURE. Adventure of a lifetime is a song by Coldplay. Anyway, the song A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURE (official video) from his 2014 solo project/album 'Music Inspired by THE LIFE and TIMES of SCROOGE, the graphic novel by the illustrator/ storyteller Don Rosa, is one of Tuomas' best songs, compositions. It was recorded with an orchestra in London. Beautiful vocals by Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas' wife. She is a perfect choise to sing this song. I love heavy Nightwish songs, but this one is such a beautiful song. Background info, interesting and funny: Holopainen and Rosa interviewed by Radio Nova, parts 1&2, only 5 minutes altogether.
Jukka (Yukker) going to war with his kit. Really miss him. It's bittersweet as Kai is a great drummer. He and Jukka are great friends, he set his drums up to sound just like Jukka's so as to keep the original Nightwish sound and style. Jukka is still with the band in a management capacity.
Ah,there it was again...."This is my favorite Nightwish song". I can sure you that you can not find favorite Nightwish song because each song feels favorite on their own way. If trying to find favorite song, it is like walking circle. From where circle starts and where it ends? Floor is real queen of rock and goddess of emotions...She lives songs thru, not just sing. Just wait when your time comes with most emotional songs of Nightwish.,..Lot of sadness but also joy to come!
You're right when you say Floor is the whole freakin' package. Check her out on these 2 other songs. Floor Jansen - "Shallow (Lady Gaga cover)" and "Phantom of the Opera" on the show BESTE ZANGERS. She'll blow your socks off!!
I'm not sure that she's taller than Tuomas, I thought he's at least a couple of centimeters taller. Also, from the current lineup, Jukka (Koskinen) is definitely taller. Floor is very tall for sure, but her high heels add a few inches.
The first time I heard Storytime I was so moved, it brought me to tears with the uplifting energy, inspiring lyrics and amazing music and vocals. I really felt how awesome it was and it got me real good :D I have seen this performance hundreds of times but I´m always left with the same feeling of awe. Nightwish is magic in my life!!!
My mum will be 65 soon, she never liked metal. I've been metalhead for 20 years. She always said metal music was noise and screaming. But... when I showed her Nightwish and other bands a few years ago... she fell in love right away... people think metal is not music but when you listen to it and appreciate the artists... it's something wonderful.... my mum fell in love with Nightwish and Floor right away, in December I took her to her first Nightwish concert as a gift, and she was delighted and happy. Metal music brings people together and gives them joy, you must not delete this music after stereotypes, as everyone usually does. Thanks for your reaction and welcome to the world of metal and Nightwish, cheers :)
You girls are in for the ride of your life, because you ain't seen nothin' yet. Every member of the band love making music. They are perfectionists. Floor is an empath, and feeds off the reactions of the crowd...and you have seen the crowd! This was a mutual appreciation concert, Nightwish and the audience. The back and forth was a feeding frenzy for emotions. Oh, Floor is Dutch i.e. Windmilling, which makes sense, huh. And wait until you see Tuomas windmilling while playing the keyboard(in 7 Days to the Wolves). Tuomas and Floor are not allowed to windmill within 10 feet of each other, because they cause tornados.
answer your question on 1301 in the video : they found her in the Netherlands . she got the call at her sister's wedding asking if she wanted to fill in because their current singer quit during the tour. she knew Nightwish but due to her burn-out Floor had not heard ANYTHING about the new album yet. she then took a plane from the Netherlands to America in 48 hours AND also learned 15 songs with the lyrics well enough to be able to sing them. this can be seen in the Nightwish Documentary : please learn the setlist in 48 hours.
I have to say you two are adorable, found you on the first Nighwish reaction and watched your back catalogue. Welcome to the Nightwish Army. All ages welcome I'm a lot closer to mother's age and still rock hard, but can't headbanging as long as I used to.

From my friend AL :Nightwish is undeniably cool on multiple fromlevels. This Finnish symphonic metal band has earned its coolness factor through a combination of exceptional musical talent, a unique fusion of genres, and captivating live performances. First and foremost, Nightwish's music is a blend of symphonic, operatic, and power metal, creating a sound that's both epic and enchanting. The band's melodies are marked by powerful orchestration, operatic vocals, and metal guitar riffs, resulting in a distinct and dynamic sound that appeals to a wide range of music lovers. The band's founding members, Tuomas Holopainen and Emppu Vuorinen, are renowned for their songwriting skills. Tuomas' compositions often draw from mythology, fantasy, and literature, adding depth and storytelling to their music. This combination of musical prowess and lyrical depth is undeniably cool for fans who appreciate intricate and emotive music. Nightwish's live performances take their coolness to the next level. Their shows are known for their grandeur and theatricality. A Nightwish concert is not just a musical performance; it's an immersive experience that combines stunning visuals, elaborate stage setups, and charismatic frontwomen like Tarja Turunen, Anette Olzon, and Floor Jansen, who all brought their unique presence to the stage. Furthermore, Nightwish's international success has made them a prominent figure in the symphonic metal scene, helping to popularize the genre worldwide. Their influence on subsequent generations of metal and rock bands only adds to their coolness. In summary, Nightwish's combination of musical virtuosity, lyrical depth, theatrical live performances, and their role in popularizing symphonic metal make them an undeniably cool band in the eyes of many fans and a significant presence in the global music scene.
Nightwish really appreciates their audience. At the end of their concerts they come out on the stage, take a bow, and applaud the crowd. Every song is different - metal, folk, ballad, Celtic, jazz, etc. Whatever mood you're in, you can find a song to listen to. Can't wait for you to hear Floor growl. She goes lower than Marko. Tuomas, the keyboardist, composes about 95% of their songs. I laughed when you said this was a favorite song - there's a joke among the fans, whatever new song you're listening to is your favorite.
You mentioned the drummer Jukka(pronounced Yookah). Unfortunately he has battled insomnia for many years and he finally had to leave the band in 2015. It's been nine years and it looks as though he will not return to the stage with Nightwish. 😥😥 Floor's "windmills" became a thing after one of her earlier vocal coaches showed her how to do it without hurting her neck(she bends over and puts her hands on the fronts of her legs). BTW this was Floor's first concert at Wacken(Vahken)Germany. She had been asked to stand in for the previous singer Swedish pop singer Anette Olzon in 2012 b/c her pregnancy. I believe Olzon has returned to the stage with another band. Floor is the third Nightwish singer. The first was Finnish Soprano Tarja Turunen(the band is almost all Finnish musicians). Loved your emotions!!
You nailed it with the more ‘pop’ vibe with this one vs the classical style of GLS. This song was written for their second singer Who brought a more pop element to the vocals vs Tarja who was far more classical/opera. She still has more in her toolkit you’ll see as you both continue to go down the rabbit hole… Love it!
This was more pop because it was written for Annette, their second singer. When they moved on after Tarja to Annett they specifically tried to try to be more mainstream. Albums were great, but Annette just did not have the stage presence and did not handle the older style as well. Important to understand that this Wacken set list was Annette’s second album tour and technically Floor is just covering their songs. Their last two albums were written for and recorded by Floor. You will get to those songs in the last and discover yet another side of them (a touch more Celtic in places).
Hi there, Hugo from the Netherlands here. Allso the country where Floor was born. There is a dutch tv show called the reunion. It is about a class of a certain year of a special person. In this particular episode there are more special persons because they choose the class of Floor Jansen while she attended the rock academy in Tilburg -(dutch city) There is a version with english subtitles where she explains how she got a call on her sisters wedding with the question would you like to be Nightwish new singer.... Luckely for us all she said yes... Watch that episode and you will love Floor even more because she is a very sweet and humble person..... De reunie met floor (english subs) And for her voice... Check out Beste zangers tv show with Floor Singing Shallow from lady gaga.
@@ladyjane1672 I have met Floor in person and she's indeed a very nice humble and genuine person. With a good sense of humor too. In her performances, you get how she is. And yes she does have 'two sides' that she calls 'the wolf' and 'the dog'. The dog is when she's at home doing her thing, being friendly and social with her family. The wolf is her side that come out on stage to rock out.
Been listening to them for 3 months and still haven't heard all they have to offer. Best band ever. You will never be disappointed. Next 2 you need is Song of Myself or Romanticide you will Windmills for those for sure...lol
Background from wiki: Composer and lyricist of the song, Tuomas Holopainen has said that "Storytime" is inspired by the 1982 movie The Snowman, the theme of which was previously covered by Nightwish for their Oceanborn album. The idea for the music of "Storytime" was born when Holopainen wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. In a teaser text released prior to the release, Holopainen summarized the song: "How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity." The lyrics references several classical pieces of fiction concerning imagination, including the character of Peter Pan and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The lyrics also mention the mythical Gaia, the Greek primordial Earth goddess.
The most misunderstood form of Music.... Metal. The most misunderstood music fans... Metal heads. The most underrated skilled musicians... Metal musicians. That's always been the way it is and ... fine. All good one day you'll either have your eyes opened or you won't we'll just keep headbanging and loving what we love. Glad you are beginning your journey.
I got a kick out of it when you said "Where did they find her?" in relation to Floor. There's a whole documentary about this called "Please learn the set list in 48 hours". It's about this tour, something like 8 or 10 months prior to this concert, where they fired their 2nd singer, Anette, mid-tour. Floor had been lead singer for a couple different bands and had been away from the music scene for some time dealing with burnout when they called to see if she could make it to their Seattle performance (they had just finished up Salt Lake City and had a couple days until that performance.) The documentary is really wild and worth the watch.
Just for additional info: in 2013, each members of Nightwish has min of 16 years musical and band experience, Floor being the youngest and Marko (the bassist and male vocalist) and the oldest. These are very experienced and seasoned musicians. In fact, Marko Hietala was one of the trendsetter of metal bands in Finland with his band Tarot. Nightwish is one of the major trendsetter Symphonic Metal bands, in fact Floor Jansen was inspired by Nightwish to form her own band ReVamp, which was disbanded.
Floor was in a band called After Forever, which she joined as a teenager. They played symphonic metal, similar to Nightwish, and shared a lot of the same fans as Nightwish. They even toured Europe opening for Nightwish. So, the band knew her, and the fans knew her, as well, so she was a natural choice. You’ll find that every song you react to becomes your new favorite, and no two of them are alike. Tuomas, the keyboardist, writes most of the music and lyrics, and Marco…the bass player…you’ll find is also a great singer. As another reactor once asked, after hearing Marco sing for the first time, “how do you have two singers that good in the same band??” ☮️
I like that Drummer as much as you:). He was the reason, to playing drums as well, many years ago. I think it was in the year 2000. He's still such an idol for me.
So many people start listening to Nightwish and find out that they have an inner rocker/metalhead inside themselves. They really know how to bring that personality out of you. So dont be to surprised about it mom :P Love your expressions and reactions. Greetings from The Netherlands
In case you're into Christmas music, in Finland we've got this thing called Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas). It's a tour around this time of year where Finnish heavy metal musicians perform Christmas songs with a metal twist. Every year they manage to gather some singers from abroad too, such as Floor, Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple, Dee Snider from Twisted Sister and Elize Ryd from Amaranthe, just to name a few. Definitely check out Floor's version on O' Holy Night, she sings it in Finnish and she was pregnant at the time. Keep up the good work!!!
Found Nightwish about a year ago on YT reactions like this one and fell in love. They became my favorite band of all time. I was lucky enough to see them live back in May in NYC. Greatest show I have ever seen in my life. As good as this is, it keeps getting better as you explore more Nightwish. While this song may be my favorite of theirs, there's others that contend for that title. I suppose it just depends on my mood. One of the greatest bands in history, and for me, I don't know anything better. I look forward to your exploring more of what they can do!
My dear ladies, I’m 63 now and just found out about NW Januari 2020. Last week I went to their gigs in Amsterdam (2x), and Düsseldorf, you can say I’m a crazy fan by now! Like your mother, I had all the “metal” prejudices you can think of. Now I consider myself a metal head, I even got to like the heavier stuff, as long as it’s melodic I’m fine with it. Please enjoy your Nightwish journey, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with all the great music that’s awaiting you.
You should watch the documentary "Learn The Set List In 48 Hours". This will explain how Floor came to join Nightwish and also a lot more about the band and their journey.
Please, just one more thing, for you two.... Welcome, to Nightwish. :) Here is my list for you......but first..... Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen) who is actually Dutch and the 3rd of the bands lead singers. By the way....she is 6'1" and known as the Valkyrie Goddess. Marco - Bass and vocals (wait until you hear him sing with Floor and solo....) This band is going to rock your world dude. Emppu - Lead guitar (jokester and very deliberative in his playing) Jukka on drums, but had to stop due to insomnia (but is still behind the scenes with Nightwish), new drummer is Kai who was the drummer with Wintersun. Tuomas - keyboards and main songwriter/choreographer for Nightwish aka genius. :) And Troy, who you will see trust me, as he is vocals/flute/woodwind/bagpipes/you name it lol. :) Here's just a few Nightwish live songs for you to choose from.... You should check out Sleeping sun. Floor started in a band called Afterforever from age 16 her second band was called Revamp and her side project band was called Northward before Nightwish. Floor has trained in Opera/Classical music but she also trained in a school of rock and some drama too. So all this adds to what she can do on stage. But wait there's more: Floor during Covid times made a lot of cover songs and her solo album which sounds more Pop like. Floor also has been working along side other groups like Epica and Ayreon. Floor also has stared on the Beste Zangers ( Best Singers ) also Christmas Carol's. Floor can sing in different languages German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, English just to name a few. Thank you for your time ladies.
I found symphonic metal about 5 years ago and I love Nightwish seen them 3 times I love other bands from this genra like within temptation, Delain and Epica Wait until you react to Epica's sanca teara with Floor live from retrospect You will hear simmons voice with Floor and you jaw will hit the floor (pun intended)
I'm 56 years old, been a Metalhead since I first discovered the music form in 1974 when I was 8 - I was introduced to Nightwish about 4 years ago and they completely blew my mind , within a month I'd bought all their CD's and DVD's and they are without doubt my favourite band. You have a great ride ahead of you if you really dive into their music 🤘
I hope you'll get to her performances in Beste Zangers (Dear Singers) 2019. A Dutch tv-show with singers who sing songs to /from eachother in the nicest, intimate setup on Ibiza with a briliant band. She does Phantom of the Opera for example, with an opera/musical singer which Floor is a fan of..😍 So cool you discovered Nightwish! Always fun to see Floorgasms, i know how you feel!
This was the actual song that got me introduced to Nightwish and the Valkyrie Queen. Wacken 2013 is arguably the best metal live show today. There’s not one song that “just good”. They all amazing. Thanks for an awesome reaction.
Storytime was written by Tuomas with the singer Anette Olzon in mind. She has a poppy kind of singing. Floor joined the band later. And she can sing anything, from classical to death growls. She is famous for her versitality.
Keep in mind that's more than 82,000 crazy fans she has clapping with her. This was truly an epic concert. Every song performance is very tight and different. Love your reactions; nailed them totally. We are in our mid 70s and discovered this band through our older son five years ago. They have dominated our viewing time ever since. Every member of this band has immense talent with NO ego. They are truly a family of extraordinary performers who enjoy their performances as much as their fans do. We'd like to suggest our favorite performance of all, "7 Days To The Wolves" from their 2015 sold out concert at Wembley Arena. It is very high energy, yet melodic as well. By the way watch toward the end for some crazy windmilling by Tuomas (keyboard and composer). Here is the link with lyrics th-cam.com/video/WUdU9GLks5s/w-d-xo.html Greetings from your fans from southeast Arizona.
Important to remember. None of these songs were written for Floor. She had joined the band mid tour about a year prior. Theres a cool video called "Please learn the set list in 48 hours." about her joining the band. I discovered Nightwish about 2 years ago on TH-cam and loved them so much I drove 6 hours to see them in May 2022. I'm closer to mom's age (63) and this music appeals to all ages. Love your reactions and hope you continue your journey
Nightwish found Floor because they already knew each other since 2002. Floor is a trained musical musician and yet she remains the humble, friendly and authentic character on stage. She enjoys every concert again and again. In doing so, she approaches each song again and again as a new challenge like a professional actress should. She takes it as a challenge to tell each song as a unique story and does it like a musical artist. I like to advertise you to watch her performances at Fort Lauderdale 2012 singing “Slow, Love, Slow” when she was less than 2weeks with Nightwish. At the age of 16 Floor started her career in the Netherlands (initially) just as the background singer from the Dutch metal band ‘After Forever’ in 1997, but real soon she took over the lead until early 2009 and the band fell apart. Tuomas knew Floor since August 20th, 2002 when Nightwish played in a sold-out and swelteringly hot “Hof Ter Lo” in Antwerp (Belgium) with her band “After Forever” as support act. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ‘ReVamp’, which was disbanded in September 2016. In August 2010 Jansen was a guest in the TV program De tiende van Tijl. In that program she sang an aria by Puccini. From October 1, 2012 (while she was still within ReVamp, but recovering from a burnout) Tuomas gave her a call and asked her to come over to the USA IOT replace Anette Olzon as the singer of Nightwish halfway their Imaginaerum World Tour. Nightwish, After Forever and ReVamp worked under the same Nuclear Blast record label.
To your mom that I am also 65 years old also!!! But, I have been into harder rock since I was a young boy! Yes, I listened to the Beatles, The Doors, Moody Blues, etc...but I really loved Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Steppenwolf, Grand Funk Railroad, Nazareth.... that list is really long! I discovered Nightwish about 4 years ago, and I fell in love with their music!!! What's not to love!
That was amazing! What an incredible musical journey! There is no category for this group. They are their own category. I thought the stage was going to blast off into the stratosphere when the clapping started. Then, I almost thought I was listening to Baroque music. Amazing!
NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here. Love your reaction. Glad you are loving our Valkyrie Queen. The windmill she does powers the energy of the Army that will follow NightWish forever❤
In addition to NW, she's had brilliant career with her first band, some have mentioned, After Forever. She then formed Revamp (much heavier music), the second album details her battle (whick she triumphed over) with burnout. Northward is another project which is more classic rock and roll. Beste Zangers from the Netherlands is a show that gets a group of singers together to play homage to each other music. She also did a solo show in Amsterdam with NW songs and some of solo music that is coming out now. She also guests with Epica and Ayreon to name a couple. You can also find some videos of her singing opera th-cam.com/video/UeTyAZtV5wI/w-d-xo.html Her repituare is extensive.
I was at their concert in Amsterdam 2 weeks ago. It was fantastic!! Just a few weeks after Floor's breast cancer surgery and she was rocking like crazy. So much respect!
This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette,The second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. Hail Nightwish 🤘😎🤘.
Two things, the previous song that you listened to was Phantom of the Opera with the first singer, Tarja, who was operatic and Ghost Love Score was also written for her. This song was written for the second singer, Anette, who was more poppy. And Floor gives it more of an edge plus she sings the operatic middle section which Anette couldn't and relied on a recording. As you progress through more of the performances with Floor you will get to appreciate the versatility of her vocals and story telling. By the way I'm 70 years old and discovered them 3 years ago with Ghost Love Score and Floor. She is the best I've ever heard. Also enjoy her own TH-cam channel where she performs so many amazing covers. Tuomas on keys writes virtually everything and it's 9 albums so far.
Great ‼️ Best song now would be: Everdream (same concert: Wacken 2013) There are sooo many excellent songs in front of you - you will be surprised by every new one… and will love it..❤ If you follow this journey, it will be an emotional rollercoaster… By the way, Floor is married with a drummer (of the band Sabaton - also metal / maybe you want to check it out, too… then try: Christmas Truce - but be aware‼️It’s a true story and very emotional…) 👍🏆
Girls you don't have to worry about your favourite Nightwish song. Your favourite is the one you are listening to. I'm so jealous that you have so many new songs to discover. I have the chills every time, but nothing could compare with the first time Floorgasm in every song.
Saw this band at Terminal 5 NYC on May 8 after 2x canceled because of COVID. Twice canceled flights and hotels and then final date set for May. Drove 700 miles one way and $500 a night hotel in midtown Manhattan and would do it again tomorrow if it was an option. Looking forward to their return to the USA🤘
Another great reaction to Nightwish and Floor Jansen. Thank you girls, you make the videos much more enjoyable. Keep going with your Nightwish journey.
Every song at this Wacken show was written for one of the first 2 lead singers, Floor added to the originals and made them her own. She had only been with them about 10 months here, having taken over mid tour. Ghost Love Score was written for Tarja. This was written for 2nd lead singer ,Anette Olzon, who is more of a pop/rock style. Anette didn't do operatic vocals, that part was done with a choir originally, the London Metro Voices choir.. Floor can do it, so she took over those parts herself. Correct, Tuomas on keys is the primary songwriter. He likes themes of stories and childhood innocence, and he is a fan of composer Hans Zimmer and Disney.
And you still havent heard anything yet. ;) The rabbit hole is deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. And they dont have a single bad song. And theyr'e all different. Floor is our Valkyrie Goddess!! And they all have a blast together. Nightwish isnt just a band or experience. Theyre a family. As for the wind milling, Floor uses proper techniques. Notice she puts her hands on her knees, it gives her proper support. Also the drummer here is Jukka (Yu-ka) (You-ka). While he's my favorite drummer ever. Kai is the best person to ever replace him. He and Jukka are great fiends. May I suggest Nightwish "Ghost River", "Romanticide" or "Dark Chest of Wonders" from the same concert (Wacken 2013) next??
I’m back to your channel halfway into 2024 and realized how good this reaction was. Two questions, did you ever dress the Halloween part of being Floor even during her late pregnancy she performed on stage and mom was going to make you the costume. Second question just over a week ago, Nightwish dropped a brand spanking, new single off of their upcoming album, it’s called perfume of the timeless. Time to get back Nightwish with this one you will both be floored once again.
I have watched this concert I don't know how many times and it still mesmerizes me everytime! But I like to suggest a song from 2018/2019... "I Want My Tears Back" Live at Buenos Aires. The crowd there is crazy haha! You will meet the new drummer Kai Hahto and the 6th member of the band Troy Donockly, a amazing multi-intrumentalist and famous for playing a very special instrument....and I'm not telling what it is haha. He had already played with NW before Floor joined NW but in Oct 2013 they both became permanent members of the band.
It was the night before When all through the world No words, no dreams Then one day A writer by a fire Imagined all of Gaia Took a journey into a child-man's heart... A painter on the shore Imagined all the world Within a snowflake on his palm Unframed by poetry A canvas of awe Planet Earth falling back into the stars I am the voice of Never, Never Land The innocence, the dreams of every man I am the empty crib of Peter Pan A silent kite against the blue, blue sky Every chimney, every moonlit sight I am the story that will read you real Every memory that you hold dear I am the journey I am the destination I am the home The tale that reads you A way to taste the night The elusive high Follow the madness Alice you know once did Imaginarium, a dream emporium! Caress the tales And they will dream you real A storyteller's game Lips that intoxicate The core of all life Is a limitless chest of tales... I am the voice of Never, Never Land The innocence, the dreams of every man I am the empty crib of Peter Pan A silent kite against the blue, blue sky Every chimney, every moonlit sight I am the story that will read you real Every memory that you hold dear I am the voice of Never, Never Land The innocence, the dreams of every man Searching heavens for another earth... Neverland, innocence, dreams of every man. A-ah-a! Neverland, innocence, every man, Peter Pan Neverland, innocence, dreams of every man. A-ah-a! Neverland, innocence, every man, Peter Pan I am the voice of Never, Never Land The innocence, the dreams of every man I am the empty crib of Peter Pan A silent kite against the blue, blue sky Every chimney, every moonlit sight I am the story that will read you real Every memory that you hold dear
I am sure that you have had information overload about the band's history and especially about Floor of course. At this point, Floor had been with the band for about 10 months and every song she performed had either been written for Tarja or Anette (her replacement). Anette had a completely different voice from Tarja, much 'poppier' and less operatic, so in order to perform the set-list, Floor had to adapt her voice accordingly for each different song. The term 'Windmill' is used as Floor is Dutch. Kindest regards from the UK
Your Mom is Adorable. A Rocker at Heart!
I agree, Queen and Freddie Mercury wouldn't make a good pimple on Nightwish's and Floor's asses.
That's very cool that you went to Wacken!
So you are one of those lucky people who are envied bij millions.🤘👏
@@Hansse Sure am. I will never forget it. Ive seen Nightwish 6 times last time November in UK and Wacken is the only concert that i will talk about and rave about as it was so god dn perfect on every level
What a beautiful memory that must be. Thanks for sharing it with us.🤘
When i hear fun, and queen then i think of 'I want my tears back' from Buenos Aires.
metal queen....what a front women 🤘👀
Here, another step in your journey, and you have already noticed the diversity of the musical directions approached by the band. The fact that each of their songs sounds different, but at the same time is so distinctly Nightwish, is a testimony to the talent of the composer Tuomas Holopainen, considered by many to be one of the great composers of our time.
Many surprises await you, ladies, and I'm glad to see them through the sparkle in your eyes.
:)

Dead Boy’s Poem live from Buenos Aires will absolutely blow your mind.
Dear ladies - please consider very carefully if you want to continue into the Nightwish Universe - you will be addicted. ..
Sorry - too late - you have already hooked and become members of the Nightwish Army - addicted for life😅
Just buckle up and open your minds for something incredible - Nightwish and Floor are going to carry you into a whole new musically universe, that will blow your minds.
And sometimes in the near future, you will start digging deeper into the lyrics....
We are here to support you 👍 🤘 🤘
Nightwish Army UK popping in for a little story ... we love you mom but not as mush as daughter You have a great appreciation and ear for the music.
Background info, interesting and funny: Holopainen and Rosa interviewed by Radio Nova,
parts 1&2, only 5 minutes altogether.
@@Idefixu Thanks for the correction. I went back to the video. I noticed the title and say crap! lol
Next one will be just as good.. or even better! If you wished that then you're wish will come true.🥳🤩👀🤨🤔
You are so right, she is the whole package. Floor made an already incredible band absolutely incomparable. Loving your reactions!
"Next level" is overused, but that's exactly what happened when they brought her aboard.
10:04 Floor showing in 15 seconds she is the most versatile
I think next song you gonna love is "Song on myself". Anyway, go on, they have a lot more)
Her windmills causes the winds of the world.
Floor is perfect. You’re always gonna stand out and look strong when you’re the tallest person on stage.
The group is from Finland & she’s taller than all the guys - she’s like a Amazon Viking Rocker Princess
The group are Finnish, Floor is Dutch and Troy (the multi-instrumentalist) is English.
Very multi-cultural
I'm not sure that she's taller than Tuomas, I thought he's at least a couple of centimeters taller. Also, from the current lineup, Jukka (Koskinen) is definitely taller. Floor is very tall for sure, but her high heels add a few inches.
Jukka the bassist is taller than Floor
Floor is 185cm and Tuomas is188cm
The pictures I saw she was in Cowboy Boots & taller than her band mates….
As people say, "singers sing what they can, Floor🌷 sings whatever she wants". Not to mention her presence. She's unbelievably captivating/magical.
Floor actually windmills to loosen & relax her neck.
Please stay with the same concert and check out "Song of Myself " Everdream " and Romanticide " ... absolutely epic !!!!
answer your question on 1301 in the video : they found her in the Netherlands .
she got the call at her sister's wedding asking if she wanted to fill in because their current singer quit during the tour.
she knew Nightwish but due to her burn-out Floor had not heard ANYTHING about the new album yet.
she then took a plane from the Netherlands to America in 48 hours AND also learned 15 songs with the lyrics well enough to be able to sing them.
this can be seen in the Nightwish Documentary : please learn the setlist in 48 hours.

Nightwish is a lifetime journey to humanity 🔥❤️ They are family and you can see that on stage 🥰🇫🇮
Floor's "windmills" became a thing after one of her earlier vocal coaches showed her how to do it without hurting her neck(she bends over and puts her hands on the fronts of her legs).
She still has more in her toolkit you’ll see as you both continue to go down the rabbit hole…
Love it!
This was more pop because it was written for Annette, their second singer. When they moved on after Tarja to Annett they specifically tried to try to be more mainstream. Albums were great, but Annette just did not have the stage presence and did not handle the older style as well. Important to understand that this Wacken set list was Annette’s second album tour and technically Floor is just covering
their songs. Their last two albums were written for and recorded by Floor. You will get to those songs in the last and discover yet another side of them (a touch more Celtic in places).
Your favorite NW song will usually be the one you’re currently listening to. 😉
Yes correct!!
I concur
You mentioned that Jukka (the drummer) sits low. He looks like a Harley biker getting ready for an overtaking on the highway. I love your reactions.
I love Jukka's style and his drumming 🥁🤘❤ Those twirls with his sticks 😎 Another master piece is 'Song of Myself'.
and now we are 2022 and their performances are still superhuman. Their shows are just fantastic and Floor is just divine.🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶
Hi there, Hugo from the Netherlands here. Allso the country where Floor was born.
There is a dutch tv show called the reunion. It is about a class of a certain year of a special person. In this particular episode there are more special persons because they choose the class of Floor Jansen while she attended the rock academy in Tilburg -(dutch city)
There is a version with english subtitles where she explains how she got a call on her sisters wedding with the question would you like to be Nightwish new singer.... Luckely for us all she said yes...
Watch that episode and you will love Floor even more because she is a very sweet and humble person.....
De reunie met floor (english subs)
And for her voice... Check out
Beste zangers tv show with Floor Singing Shallow from lady gaga.
"....she is a very sweet and humble person...". My thoughts exactly when I watched it.
Background from wiki:
Composer and lyricist of the song, Tuomas Holopainen has said that "Storytime" is inspired by the 1982 movie The Snowman, the theme of which was previously covered by Nightwish for their Oceanborn album. The idea for the music of "Storytime" was born when Holopainen wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like.
In a teaser text released prior to the release, Holopainen summarized the song:
"How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity."
The lyrics references several classical pieces of fiction concerning imagination, including the character of Peter Pan and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The lyrics also mention the mythical Gaia, the Greek primordial Earth goddess.
They should react to Tuomas' Adventure of a Lifetime with his wife singing the song.
Gaia is the original name of planet Earth. One the multiple names this planet has had through its history.
You definately should have decent headphones for Nightwish. 😊
Your with the Nightwish army you will fall in love with this band she reminds s a metal queen you rock need more from this band
The respect you two have for each other makes this show just great but if you two keep rocking around I'm going get dizzy and fall down.
😆 You and mom both!
Everyone thinks they know what Nightwish sounds like, until they hear the next song.
Love watching your Nightwish journey can't wait till you discover Epica and Ayreon.

I hope this list is a good start for your journey and I hope the rest of the Nightwish Army agrees with these choices :) Thanks :)
Just two words here for you two....MORE Nightwish! =D
Floor has thousands of voices and all are powerful and beautiful. She can growl too. They also have more soft and hard sides.
She does Phantom of the Opera for example, with an opera/musical singer which Floor is a fan of..😍
So cool you discovered Nightwish! Always fun to see Floorgasms, i know how you feel!
Enjoying your reactions to Nightwish. I hope you keep going. There are many more songs to discover.
This was the actual song that got me introduced to Nightwish and the Valkyrie Queen. Wacken 2013 is arguably the best metal live show today. There’s not one song that “just good”. They all amazing. Thanks for an awesome reaction.
CONGRATULATION FROM SPAIN, REACT YOU PLEASE A SONG OF NIGHTWISH call DEAD BOY'S POEM, is a MASTERPEACE
Storytime was written by Tuomas with the singer Anette Olzon in mind. She has a poppy kind of singing. Floor joined the band later. And she can sing anything, from classical to death growls. She is famous for her versitality.
So seeing this 2nd time now. Have to say that she is more pop like in this one. Don't worry, that's just one side of her she can do. 🤣😂
Floor Jansen gives everybody Floorgasms LOL
Well, 81,999 crazy fans clapping with her, anyway.
Straw Hat Guy must've been doped to the gills that night.
You can also find some videos of her singing opera th-cam.com/video/UeTyAZtV5wI/w-d-xo.html
Her repituare is extensive.
That’s not a voice it’s a weapon of mass destruction 😂😂
Viking Valkerie Goddess Queen !!
Please continue the Nightwish journey, there is so much more!
Great ‼️ Best song now would be: Everdream (same concert: Wacken 2013)
There are sooo many excellent songs in front of you - you will be surprised by every new one… and will love it..❤ If you follow this journey, it will be an emotional rollercoaster…
By the way, Floor is married with a drummer (of the band Sabaton - also metal / maybe you want to check it out, too… then try: Christmas Truce - but be aware‼️It’s a true story and very emotional…) 👍🏆
Girls you don't have to worry about your favourite Nightwish song. Your favourite is the one you are listening to. I'm so jealous that you have so many new songs to discover. I have the chills every time, but nothing could compare with the first time Floorgasm in every song.
Love you guys! My new favorite Nightwish reactors! Looking forward to your journey!
Was at the NY concert too! Soooo worth the wait!
You'll notice whenever Floor is wind milling, she has her hands on her hips or thighs to stabilize her spine to protect it.
That some Valkyries energy from the goddess right there🔥⚔
Floor Jensen the queen of metal🤘🏽❤
Another great reaction to Nightwish and Floor Jansen. Thank you girls, you make the videos much more enjoyable. Keep going with your Nightwish journey.
10:35 Floorgasm at is best, try Everdream same concert!
Get ready to listen to so many epic songs? They are a STUNNING BAND
Nightwish had seen Floor singing in her first band After Forever so they knew what she could do.😈❤️🇧🇻
Every song at this Wacken show was written for one of the first 2 lead singers, Floor added to the originals and made them her own.
I'm watching you react right now and would love to see you react to Nightwish - Everdream 🙏😍
It was the night before
When all through the world
No words, no dreams
Then one day
A writer by a fire
Imagined all of Gaia
Took a journey into a child-man's heart...
A painter on the shore
Imagined all the world
Within a snowflake on his palm
Unframed by poetry
A canvas of awe
Planet Earth falling back into the stars
I am the voice of Never, Never Land
The innocence, the dreams of every man
I am the empty crib of Peter Pan
A silent kite against the blue, blue sky
Every chimney, every moonlit sight
I am the story that will read you real
Every memory that you hold dear
I am the journey
I am the destination
I am the home
The tale that reads you
A way to taste the night
The elusive high
Follow the madness
Alice you know once did
Imaginarium, a dream emporium!
Caress the tales
And they will dream you real
A storyteller's game
Lips that intoxicate
The core of all life
Is a limitless chest of tales...
I am the voice of Never, Never Land
The innocence, the dreams of every man
I am the empty crib of Peter Pan
A silent kite against the blue, blue sky
Every chimney, every moonlit sight
I am the story that will read you real
Every memory that you hold dear
I am the voice of Never, Never Land
The innocence, the dreams of every man
Searching heavens for another earth...
Neverland, innocence, dreams of every man. A-ah-a!
Neverland, innocence, every man, Peter Pan
Neverland, innocence, dreams of every man. A-ah-a!
Neverland, innocence, every man, Peter Pan
I am the voice of Never, Never Land
The innocence, the dreams of every man
I am the empty crib of Peter Pan
A silent kite against the blue, blue sky
Every chimney, every moonlit sight
I am the story that will read you real
Every memory that you hold dear
Mum, I'm 71, a great NW fan, and fans are all ages. Lovely reactions and you are no way old! From UK!
