    Used a Sennheiser during my DJ days and never had a problem. Outstanding sound and build quality.

    Just saying I have 16 QLX-D in one rack on the same FREQ. range. No issues. There’s a thing called switching frequencies and wireless workbench id a QLXD over SLX or even ULx

    10 years, over 200 weddings I have never had a mic cut out. Always use a fresh set of batteries, currently use Samson Concert 99 Handheld for MC work and Concert 288 for ceremonies. Zero issues, great quality, and no cutting out. I think this is a case of, I spent too much on this, so now anyone that doesn't is using garbage. When you buy equipment, there is a huge diminishing rate of return, $80 mic = terrible / $120 mic = passable / $200 mic = good / $300 mic = better / $500 mic = little better, etc speakers are the same way.

    Thoughts on Senheiser stuff? A venue I worked at had the Senheiser body pack and Receiver. It was an outdoor wedding and it was extremely windy. There was not a single bit of wind sound coming through the speakers and I was super impressed so now that I’m looking at building my own system I am looking at Senheiser stuff.

    • @mattholmes2808
      @mattholmes2808 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      senheiser makes good microphones as mentioned in the u.s. 600mhz bought by t mobile could get a fine if interfering t.v. band. make a variety of mics dj to big concert productions.

    this video is awesome, thank you so much! I have the Shure GLX that was great for the first 3 events, but now is completely hit or miss on dropouts event in line of site. And of course it's always perfect in soundcheck from anywhere in the room, and starts getting crazy once the event starts. Chucking that thing.

    as barr mentioned spending amount of money on new gear only to have the fcc change regulations have to buy new gear to be compliant or having signal cut out due to rf and other frequencies being used at same time when might have to support a band at an event.

    Doesn’t matter brand or price point, we’ll at least with shure and senni! To truly avoid cut outs, elevate your receiver that’s why they don’t cutout at concerts! Line of site for is better from up high or next to the receiver. Mount on top of your speaker Barr! Also, do not forget. The more bodies in a room the harder the signal can penetrate QLX, BLX, GLX, ULX doesn’t matter the price you pay or brand model.

    • @evanrugaposh299
      @evanrugaposh299 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      djkeithjust Agreed with the height! Before I got the ULX I would always have my receiver elevated especially for ceremonies.

    Lol my schools going to have to upgrade at least 11 of there wireless mics because they are on the 600MHz and right now they are all audio technica but would love if they could do the shure ULXD or the QLXD but they might ass well upgraded all mics. Also if you ever go to sweet water HMU I live about 3 hours from sweet in Fort Wayne.

    I was looking into the Shure QLXD4Q. It's a lot(almost sickening) but for me having four mics in one rack mount unit is almost necessary for where I eventually see myself going.
    Does anyone have experience with that system?

      My boy has that setup… 4 QLXD4’s (rack mounted) and the antenna distribution rack mount controller ($1k). I just saw him use it once and it was seamless. His whole rackmount setup for the mics and distribution antenna was nearly $5k.

    Can't agree with the mic advice. One of the main features with mic price increase is the ability to run multiple systems at once. Some of these mics have the same transmission and receiving components...just in different bodies..ie...metal vs plastic...etc. $1500 mics are not necessary.
