- In this episode of Stock to Spaded, I bring you the F-105D Thunderchief, otherwise known as the Thud. As the F-105s strongest soldier (I’m Thud_Life in the first game) my experience in this thing greatly improved when I started using CCRP to toss bomb, pretty much guaranteed one base before getting engaged so I’m unloaded by the time I need to start getting out of the way of all-aspects

Yeah and then someone just comes in low and bombs the base before yours even get close
A10s and su 25s are a huge problem in air rb,usually the whole enemy team is just A10s and the fact that it’s always usa vs everyone else makes it worse because fighting A10s are either easy kills or you get killed from 4km by an aim9 L
Right now 10.0 is unplayable. Soviets have the MiG21s and specially the Su25k wrecking everyone with their all aspect missiles
A-10s are either fucking annoying to fight or just die in the first 2 seconds of the match. The Kfir Canard has been getting almost constant 10.0 downtiers and F-105s are easy kills when I get a full downtier. Don’t go for it, you’ll suffer.

From someone who has spaded the F-105 and used it to grind most of USA air. It's very worth using it if you don't have a premium, but if you do and want a 10.0 pick up the F-4C it's very good
I wouldn't really say the f4c is good, its alright but its a bus and doesn't get flares, and since thiers so many premiums at that br with op missiles it kinda gets shit on

@@anrw886 yeah obviously, I used it to bomb and get RP that's the only thing I used the F-4C and F-105D for
my USA jet grinder was the F-100D. Lower bomb load, but it had insane multiplier to Silver Lion intake. Bombing bases was a really easy way to farm lions and experience, especially if I could make multiple runs or just J-out on the runway when my whole team died in the length of time for me to hit a base and return.

This plane is such a perfect example of how one massive change, and also changes in its opponents, can completely kill it.
I haven't seen a single one in months. Literally, not one. It's a dead plane. An attacker with airfield spawn against all-aspect missiles with no countermeasures... at 10.0.
Too bad, because I genuinely enjoy that play style of bombing bases and then circling back around to engage enemies.
When they removed the airspawn from all planes rank 6+ they said that they going to reconsider if some of the planes might get the option back. So GAYjin was either lying or they absolutely don't give a shit (like they rarely add features to older release stuff like how the "Gearing" has no radar, but the Frank Knox has). A-4 players probably regret they unlocked their "flying traktor" ever since, in air RB.
The worst victim is the German F-84F IMO, all other F-84Fs get an airspawn, but since all postwar German jets except the MiG-15 bis were moved to rank VI the German one doesn't, making it impossible for it to get a base

Where Aim 9Bs are only really somewhat effective at forcing Reds into a turn, I find that there quite effective at acting like a smart flare against AAIR missiles in a head on.
Where you do lose 2 bombs, I personally do enjoy that slight increase in survivability, especially on aircraft like the F-105 or F-104J which lack conventional countermeasures.
The F-105 is really fun if you can handle not having flares, the speed and power it has is just phenomenal it’s not the greatest in ARB but in GRB it’s fantastic
Hey Tank, yesterday I just got the F105D and commented on your video if it's still good. Lol ironic that you just made a video now. Thank you! Commenting before watching this video but I really like the F105D. I take the 3 3k bombs, drop 2 on 1 base then 1 on another then immediately go back to base. Sometimes I can get 2 or even 3 bases by just flying very low to the ground and ignoring everything. Other than not having flares I really like this plane.
I would recommend taking the 14x 750LBS and drop 7 per base and climb to the left a little till you get to around 5000m at a slow climb

I have recently unlocked the F-105. The most effective tactic I have found is to fly low and fast and fly away from teammates. Then you can turn to make the bombing round and take 2 bases. By the time you're bombing, most enemies have already crossed half the map and you can bomb safely behind them. Then you make you egress and RTB avoiding enemies. You make a second round of bombing if there are still allied planes alive. If your team is badly losing just land, repair and J out and don't take the expensive repair cost
The F105D is a Beast in SB, 2 Base destroyed are 2k Points and 40k SL.
Choose the 14 750Lb bombs and 4 Aim9, Drop 7 bombs per base.
but it does not show the activated target point on the hud
I started playing this boy just last month and it was my most fun plane on the higher tiers to spade
War Thunder approach with missiles feels so wrong... they will tell you "Oh, the F-105D historically never had flares"... yeah fine but their biggest IR threat "historically" were R-3S
The Air Force put Aim9Bs on Sabres, but we have to suffer without them
I really feel the 105 needs to be downtiered to 9.7 or have an air spawn again.

9.7 in sim,10.0 in RB. You can play sim without getting uptiered and most ppl there dont have flares (except some like the harrier,German F.58,etc) Also you dont meet all-aspect missiles there

Just spaded this about a month ago. Without flares or good missiles, it was pretty rough. Would try to bomb bases then run away when all the su-25’s arrived. F-4c’s get to the bases quicker, and if you do rush in, premium mig-21’s are a huge issue. If the match goes long and you survive, can have lucrative matches

They really need to let the f105 carry flate pods because it will sacrifice some attack capability(2 missiles) in exchange for flares
The all-aspect missiles killed this plane. Before the release of the A-10 it was my favourite plane and I grinded out most of the American jets but now you can't really complete in air RB. Hopefully the F-111 is added soon to take its place.

if you bomb in the f105, just get there as low as possible to maintain speed. it’s unbelievably good at dodging missiles too without payload

I play the F-105 so much and I love it so much, it is very rough to fly now though, so I can’t really recommend it.
after I got the 105 the grind up went so quick
Year later I finished spading this aircraft and I must say, I've been having more fun than ever... Spaded inside 30 battles with premium and K/D around 3. Just need to equip 5 750 bombs to destroy 1 base, 4 aim 9s and one rocket pod to use instead of flares. After destroying base, start playing it like f104. Boom n zoom, keep your distance from su25s and you'll be golden
The unfortunate thing is that there’s so many other aircraft that’s in same situation, facing all aspects missile with no flares especially when they have to face the SU-25 which is so under tiered.
Used to be really fun. A10 and SU-25 have ruined this plane along with every other supersonic 9.3 that doesn’t get access to flares. It’s pitiful how awful these old planes are. Can’t even have a good time in my F-100 or F-4C anymore
What might be cool for this serie, make video's about all the vehicle that are foldered with other vehicles. The ones you don't need to grind to get going in the techtree. Make video's about those. Are they worth it to grind or just leave them be in the folder they are in.

10.0 in ARB, 10.7 in AAB, but you can put flares on one side and missiles on the other.
The “flares”are actually just chaff
10.7 in Arcade makes it the same BR as the Tornado with flares and 9Ls, very cool Gaijin
Once you get aim 9e's you can run this in on the corners or after fighters engage and drop on bases then climb up and do some hit and runs at high speed.
I'm getting it either way because I've tried it, Spaded it, and it's so good!
I used this plane to grind to a 10. I talisman it and get 10k rp-20k rp on an average game 50k rp on a good game. It’s hit or miss getting rp. You may go 6 games getting no points since you have no flares and get shot down very early. That shouldn’t be too big of an issue grinding rp because you die early which means you can start another game quicker. It can be hate or love with this plane and if you get on a losing streak I would go play tanks or something since the su 25 wallet warriors are probably hunting 105s

hi, i also do love the F-105 i have around 400 battles whit it
But i found a way to do a lot of points.. its to use 14 *750 lbs and 4* 9E and instead of going to the bases foward i usually try to climb a little before (4K -6K alt) and then dive bomb 2 bases.. after that or i enter in figth mode and have tons of speed or go to base and re-bomb and to a second run
But overall its a nice plane. ok its heavy and at low speed its tricky. BUT its 1 of the fastest planes of 10.0 and few planes can catch u.
And because of that speed we can actually outrun some missiles or dodge them at low altitude. its just a question of who hit the tree 1st. you or the missile :)
Overall i recomend the plane ( and whit talisman) its perfect to grind some other planes
I'm not spaded yet. My experience is 33% of the time I die before I reach a base, 33% the get stolen (bombed) and I'm searching for targets, 33% of the time I can drop the full bomb load and re-arm.
I find it strange I get around 1700 points using strictly 750 bombs compared to 1200 using the 3000 pound bombs when I bomb bases. same amount of lbs only two bases and you even said the 3000 is more tnt but im getting 1700 points. this is a huge difference

Tankenstein, you might want to start turning off your radar when taking out IR missile only planes, especially ones that can't slave the seeker head to your radar. You are basically broadcasting to your target that they should be ready to flare.
Oh ye btw u can pull the aim 9e way further outside the launch circle than u did in this vid it makes them way more effective
You need to set your options to "auto jettison" for when your bomb racks are empty. 😉👍 (especially if you're taking missiles to dogfight)

This has been since I was a kid one of my all time favorite jets, and when it first came out it was sim much fun but it unfortunately can’t outrun the missiles it faces now :(
i have used this plane for bombing aircraft carriers in sim mode with 3x 3000 lbs and 2x 500 lbs(?) from a low altitude, you're probably not gonna be able to survive but that's still better than nothing. it's also really expensive so i use the a10 for bases and the f105d for the aircraft carriers
This was a nuke delivery aircraft, even has a bomb bay. Gajin must be using it for a fuel tank. Low and fast on the deck, ONE pass and get out. Staying to use it as a fighter is just a matter of time before your shot down. Same as in the 60's and 70's. This game has the most screwed up idea of what you can match up.
For anyone wondering you can take 14x M117 bombs and you need 7x to kill a base... no need to rush the better bombs at all.
Stock grind on anything is Hell these days. I got that MiG-23 from the event a year or 3 ago, flew it like 2-3 times and died instantly every time because I had nothing for defense. Would be even worse now. Doubt I'd even get off the airfield. 😂

In 2024 it not too bad I can get 2 bases and maybe 2 kills if you don’t get swamped by a-10s and any SU variant
When you see an Su-25 or an A-10 and has all aspect missile but you dont have flares, 1go face to face with him 2turn on your missle seeker 3when he'll shoot the missle to you your missle will lock to the enemy's missle IMMEDIATELY lunch your missle and keep straight. Your missle will hit the enemy's missle and you will be safe

The biggest flaw of the 105 is the repair cost and your rewards. The fact you can bomb two bases, get an Air to air kill and still lose SL because you died is absolutely unacceptable. (For non-premium players) You bet if they ever add the F-105G it's going to be 10.3-10.7 and it's experience will be so much worse.
This might be a stretch but could you do a stock to spaded vid on the uss Arizona?

I'd love to give this plane a try but since i don't like the Canberras i went for the other branches above rank 4 with the US tree. So the Rank 6 bomber role filled by the F-4C and the F-100, (I hope the F-3H gets a custom loadout option too soon).
I just unlocked it after all, during the summer-suffer event, and on the 2nd game i already had to TK a trash, a few games later an F-4C on the runway, after we RTB.

@@Pionel_pessi. Gr1 should have pods too.. The AV-8A=Harrier Gr.1,AV-8C=Harrier Gr3. The last 2 has radar warning system and internal countermeasures. Correct me if im wrong
@@Pionel_pessi. Well... i would pick the F105D with aim9e's before the gr.1... 2km of range? Move it to 9.3. Its fast,but that would be more balanced. Flares below/at 10.0 can save you a lot of time. Or give it some red top or whatever missile does the sea harrier got.

in half of 24 is exactly same fights/ dies... u can take 1x 3000 bomb in belly and u outrun another planes- base be almost destryed (5/6) and u can catch 10- 20k exp per battle with 1 landing... imo is better put only 4xSid E and play like fighter (1plane is +- 1 base in exp, less in money) but u must wait a little/ dont fly 1st... overall isnt fun/ is roulette game is good or bad like u has, take care

BIG SKILL ISSUE! But most players are bad like you or slightly better so yeah in your hands in average plane. In the hands of a decent pilot then great plane. In my hands tho? Absolutely overpowered! Literally unbelievable magnificent

But if they're supersonic the missles will catch you
There is no reason for this plane to be at 10.0 with stuff like SU25s. It physically cannot deal with any lock ons whatsoever wothout flares. It can maybe dodge 10Gs if youre lucky.
Long story short yea it's worth it no matter what you're still the fastest at your br
I adjust my playstyle and let the missile boys fight it out ( stay on the edge of the battle low on the deck . bomb , and Afterburner the hell out of there :p )

It’s selfish to take two bases on the initial strike. Be good teammate and leave some for your teammates. I got tired of trying to beat my teammates to the base so I climb to 30K ft and take what’s left or the second round of bases. I take one chaff pod for R-3Rs and two missiles.

why do i only get about 500 rp per base bombed in the f105d
use the 750 only I get 1700 using 750s compared to the 3000lbs which is like 1000 ish. I dunno why but 750s are better
like many planes it has become very difficult to play, it is already more level, if gaijin does nothing many planes will no longer be played, people only play premium or descradron planes
The r60s absolutely destroy this plane
9.3-10.7 is a huge suckfest. Premium A-10 SU-25 spam and hardly anything else. It's like that at a few BRs that have Premiums everyone wants. It kind of ruins the game. I say this as someone who has all those Premiums(not the 25K tho) even though I have them I still think they ruin the gameplay for everyone.

It is incredibly cheesy and stupid how underperforming US planes are in War Thunder. There's no point in complaining about it either, Gaijin never listens.
