Rachel you’re the bee’s knees! I throughly enjoy your candor and the editing of your videos is 👌🏼. I cackled at your zooms of the little yarn thread that showed up during your sacred sheep hat portion 😂 (which also looks amazing). Also really loving your collette, it looks so romantic! Looking forward to the next pod.
Wonderful podcast, as usual. Stop agonizing over whether you stick to an exact schedule or not! I love you whenever you appear on UTube. The pullover you are wearing is really nice. The Daft Days cardigan is a bit short and clearly you would have preferred it to be larger but it looks nice worn open. Maybe blocking will relax it a bit more. I am anxious as well. Sometimes having to fuel the car seems insurmountable. So it goes. The Bridgerton yarn is really really uniquely gorgeous. Thanks for putting on mascara for us all. Really made my day!
As a fellow anxious person, thanks for being so honest about not feeling the filming earlier on this week - and good for you for listening to that part of you that was saying it wouldn’t be fun! As always so happy to see your beautiful projects - I like the idea of a daft days vest!
I honor your candor about anxieties and your ways of working through them! Loving to see the Daft Hobbit again and your progress. I like the idea of the vest, but whatever you decide will be great! Think I told you before that I only found you because of mentions by Knit California. So have to laugh about "who's this Leslie?" I enjoy your casts always!
I'm an anxious girlie too (unfortunately😅) and let me tell you I know how difficult it is sometimes to live with it and to do what you need to be better, I'm so proud of you for doing that! I'm going through some 'anxiety heavy' couple days too but we're powering through them❤ Also I love your podcast and enjoy spending time with you, see you on the next one!😊
Rachel 🎉thanks for the Hobbit plug..I love those colors, they’re my jam !! I like your idea, to rib the “sleeves” and wear over black (or brown) turtleneck 🌿🧶💫. And the hat you knit in a couple days is fabulous 💖✌️
Love your podcasts and sense of humour! Re the probisional caston on your hat: You can’t continue the rib in the opposite direction (=from the caston) without being half a stitch off in your rib. That’s because when you’re knitting in the opposite direction from the original knitting direction, you’re knitting with the loops BETWEEN each stitch. If you continue with stockinette it won’t show that you’re half a stitch of, but it will be very visible in an already established rib. I hope this explanation makes sense! ❤
I recently finished the Lumme sweater & I love how it fits. I did short rows both after the color work & just before the bottom ribbing & it fits great 😊 I might just add short rows before the bottom ribbing to all of my sweaters from now on. Wish we could twin in Ireland but alas, I can not afford it. Your trips looks amazing, can’t wait to live vicariously through your Insta stories. 🥰
I don’t think I’m going to do the short row shaping, but that’s awesome that you love that added detail! Maybe I’ll try it on another sweater sometime! And yes don’t worry, I’ll make you feel like you are there with us! 🫶🏻🩷
I haven’t found the small offset to be noticeable at all. Another way I do the provisional cast on is to do Jenny’s magic cast on and then just knit on one side. I slide the other side stitches onto a stoppered cord.
I’m finishing up a sweater for my daughter where you pick up and knit in the other direction at the shoulders and, though you can see that line, the stitches are going in the same direction. I was surprised and pleased. Maybe that will happen for you with your hat? I love the Collette Pullover. It’s stunning!!!
@@rachelisknitting yeah I don’t like it and try to avoid it at all costs. I look for cardi patterns with “built-in” button bands and collars. This special request from my daughter was from a photo of a commercial sweater for which I found a pattern on Etsy and have altered it … 🙄🧶❤️
I *just* finished my Daft Days today. It's on the mats, drying. Those sleeves felt like they took FOR-EV-ER. I made mine a pullover, instead of cardigan. Extra math for the win!
That really doesn't make me want to do sleeves lol! This might have just made me fully decide on capped sleeves/ribbing instead of doing the whole thing!
Love your cast. But in the blurb for the Ireland Tour next October, you said it would include the price. There was a cost of registration, but no totals given. I am retired and on a fixed income, so I need to know the totals (understanding that travel and before and after expenses would be my own) before I could commit to what feels like a wonderful experience. Where can I find that information?
Hi! Thanks for your question! The total cost of the trip (not including travel, souvenirs, or meals on your own) is found in the “Information and Documents” section. If you have a roommate, it is €4,993.00 per person. If you require your own room, an additional €993 supplement is required. 🩷
You’re probably beyond it by now, but I think you could go ahead and switch colors where you are and then make that the inside of the brim, join them, but using your provisional stitches as your new working stitches and your working stitches as your provisional stitches and then start the body of your hat from the original provisional stitches instead of your current stitches. Hopefully that makes sense the way I’ve described. . .

Right as always my friend. Thank you for always being the voice of reason! 🫶🏻
The mic is amazing, it makes a huge difference! Please keep using it!
I realized that when I was editing! It’s a game changer even if it’s ugly!
@@rachelisknitting it's not ugly, I would not have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out.
As a fellow podcaster with anxiety and depression, my knitting podcast goes up when I can. No joke.. it doesn’t matter. ❤
I need to be more like that!

Yay I'm glad you like them! There are a lot of great colorways to choose from when the collection goes live later today! Thanks for watching :)

I was wondering if that might do the trick for a provisional cast on sub. I will try it one of these days!
In addition to your projects, I had major yarn envy. That deep purple yarn in your stash is so gorgeous! 💜
Thank you! I love it too!
Another great episode Rachel. The Bridgerton colour way is absolutely sublime and is looking beautiful in the garment you are making.
Thank you so much!
