Yo Theo, I have a pretty heavy personal experience with the “Tianeptine” stuff y’all mentioned around 1:44:16. A close friend of my fiancée died, it basically took away my late childhood, and tore so many lives apart here in Alabama & surrounding states. This is the first time I’ve ever heard it being mentioned publicly like this. The doctors don’t know about, paramedics, rehabs, etc. nobody talks about this stuff. Has to be the most difficult thing I’ve ever been through, but I overcame it & took control. The fact that no one talks about it makes you feel alone. You guys bringing awareness to it on this big of a platform is the first time I’ve felt heard in years. Keep doing what you’re doing. Just another reason this is my favorite podcast. Gang gang.

Toby reminds me of Quinton Tarantino, big him up major respect to him 💪🏽
Yeah, I agree, some of his questions were very legit, like the one "what do you roll up with" asking Tiby what tools does he usually bring with or use on a case. Theo just asks them really weirdly imo.

I've been watching Theo for awhile now. These interviews he's doing are interesting, I've watched several lately. The Coroner has a great attitude about his job & that sounds like a tough job. I love Theo, his stories, I'm happy for him.
I have been M.I.A. since losing my mom July 20th 2023 to Parkinsons and Dementia since 2010, I took care of her even passing out with my brother and dad, and little brother helped out alot, no NH, or hospice-what she wanted and her imminent death came on suddenly it came so fast but it was was a 3 day death. I knew this cast would help me with processing my grief. I was A Former Funeral Director /Embalmer and worked at Funeral Homes, took out Funerals, assisted with arrangements, embalmings, and worked with a Removal service for a Coroners office back in 2010-2013, police and nursing home, residential and hospital calls for the decendents. I loved caring for them like I would care for a family member. I really am pleased how caring this Coroner Toby is and how Theo did with this cast. One of my favorites casts! Right now, I am still broken up and devastated. My mom was my best friend. 😢 Especially as I got older. She advocated for me and likewise. I understood her.
Love his shirt that says, "Last Responder" instead of first responder, Keepin' It Real. I learned a lot about the legalities of death when my sister died in New Orleans. I was surprised about the different stages of clearance and how nobody could go near the body when it was still the house. It was weird but i guess they were tryin to preserve the scene in case of foul play. It was a strange scene to be morning with family members in ur own living room surrounded by cop strangers telling you what you can and can't do. I also learned that autopsy's are not automatically done and if not you have to pay for it.
Did not expect this to be one of the best podcast episodes I have seen. Loved Toby and wierdly also the topic. What a hero and a great man! What a fascinating conversation. This was a breath of fresh air from these types of podcasts. I can’t take another Rogan/Segura “Man the road is so hard” type conversation ever again.
Bert Kreisher 😫
I am from Louisiana and I love how this guy matches Theo's Louisiana energy. To hear a regular person say "I miss crack" and then have a reasonable follow up is amazing.
Haha I noticed how they both pronounce “seement”
Do farmers really clean their shovels out there?? It’s just something I don’t believe. Referring to minute 53:30. As a former farmers daughter… I think that’s the oddest thing. 😂
I come from Louisiana & yeah Toby seems really down to earth, he's right about alot of what he's talkin bout. Toby looks familiar, I'm sure I've seen him on another show. Watch out on the 2 lane highways, ppl walking in the dark, not paying attention, distracted. Ppl be flying sometimes on those back roads too.

Theo, my dad killed himself when I was 12. I was beyond difficult and lonely growing up alone with my mom. Had hard times. Alcoholic drinking, dui’s, and problems all over the board. You talking about your dad, and your struggles helps so much. You really help people. Gang gang baby.
I hope u alright man
That's tough
Childhood trauma is no joke, I hope you're doing well man.
Gang gang boy!! Keep your head up baby we all here for you dawg.
Gang gang. Glad you got through it homie!
gang gang brother, i’m glad you’re still here with us and keep on keeping on
The simple yet interesting conection between these two makes this conversation go so fluidly. Theo has incredible ability to create bits from really bizzare scenes. I had a feeling that coroner really expressed the gruesome reality of the job and that Theo alchemized it in a way through his comedic craft...
It’s just a Louisiana thing! I swear Louisiana folks are an entirely different breed of human!
How odd that random normal people have 10x as much profundity and conversational ability than almost all of the celebrity self promoters.
More of this please Theo.
I had no idea profundity was a word until now. Thanks for the education!

12 months sober in sept from fentanyl and im about to see your show before then. i hope that those watching this struggling, especially younger ones like myself, can be reached by this or at least become more educated on this situation. i fell into a bad crowd way too young and started using just before there was a lot of coverage on fentanyl to the general public and i think knowing the risks before would’ve saved me before i even needed saving. watching the pod is always inspiring and im glad I’m still here to celebrate my sobriety and see your shows man. god bless
Blessings to you!
proud of you !! congratulations!💓
Congrats! Keep it going ❤🙌🏼
My longest of friends wife is a morgue photographer, it wasn't till she told me that she sees 30+ week overdose with meth containing fentanyl that I realized !!!!!meth contains fentanyl!!!!!...and I was a high functioning addict. Trying to get into nursing.
I thought it was only an issue with heroin. I've never been that ignorant. That day I 100% stopped. 2 plus months going strong without that roulette in my life.😊
Yea stay away from the bad influence. You are the company you keep.
If all professionals were like Toby this world would be a better place! What a fantastic, down to earth, genuine guy! And thank you Theo for a wonderful interview! I bet you 2 have become firm friends!
Theo got the coolest Coroner there is!! I like this dude!! They have great chemistry. It’s not easy to match Theo’s energy but he does it.
It's gotta be a Louisiana thing cuz they were clickin 🤞🏾💯
Opposite kinda energies combining so well
@micaiahforde6229 yeah I loved the parts where their accents both got really strong, like when they were talking about how common drinking & driving is down there 😂
@@billie-roseglenie2992
Nothing about their energies are opposite
Louisiana folks are an entirely different breed of people I swear!
Folks from Louisiana are most genuine, friendly, respectful & loving kind of people! No other state can compare
The coroner's awkward reaction at 52:00 when Theo genuinely asks about gay rapes is hilarious
I don't know how to answer that one...
@@drewpickett2565 😂 I fell out when he said that so seriously lmao
He's a no nonsense guy and not judgmental at all. "Of course they do happen"
“Our parish is in rural Louisiana”, man respectfully said I don’t see many gay people
Its worth watching twice 😂
This dude was so candid & CLEARLY is cut from the same block as Theo. They had a great natural flow to their conversation.
I swear it’s a Louisiana thing! Folks from Louisiana are an entirely different breed altogether!
Agree
This was the absolute best guest you've had on your podcast. I hope you get to do a ride along and vlog some of it. Would be absolutely fascinating.
I feel terrible for laughing but theo stressing out when he learned about blood clots was hilarious. As a fellow anxious person, I can relate 😂
Dude I spend a notable amount of time contemplating whether or not the random pain is a blood clot.
@@bbsv13 Oh dude I get it lmao.. I literally spent the last month thinking I had cancer cause a lil cyst. Saw an encologist this week and he straight up laughed at me (which finally helped ease my anxiety)

So happy to see that you are succeeding by just being you, a weekly inspiration of positivity in many of our lives, thanks theo
I find a weird sense of comfort in seeing how much respect Toby has for his job and makes me feel more comfortable for when I die there will be someone to take care of my body. I never realized this was even a job, but I guess it is just so obvious I didn't see it.
This was a great guest. And I always appreciate Theo’s humility that allows him to ask great questions.
This is actually my dad my names Jack savoy and I hope y’all like it as much as I do
Dude, how crazy is that to see your old man on a podcast with a guy with almost 2 million followers!?!
Dad did a great job!
Your dads a great guy and was an awesome guest! Definitely a top tier episode.
Your dads awesome ! Glad to see us hardworking blue collar folks get some limelight and recognition for a change !
I thought your dad was interesting and funny. I learned so much about being a coroner. The questions that Theo asked and the answers that your dad gave were a lot of things that I never thought of. You should be very proud of your dad and the kind of man he is to be able to handle this job and still be so compassionate.
That Kat Von D flash when they were talking about cats eating you when you die KILLED ME 😂
right!? i died
I’m pretty sure Toby knows how to live! Super informative, transparent, and funny. Theo is getting all the answers for the questions I wanna know!
theo's style of interviewing people who make out lives " more civil " to live in ,it's amazing , its a style that not other podcaster can copy, they can maybe try, but Theo, shoots naturally from those kajen's hips!
He is a great conversationalist! Loved this and found it so fascinating. More of these kinds of podcasts please!
I love when theo has guests like this on. This dude was respectful and on point and also had a sense of humor even though he has a terribly difficult job. Much love from Florida 💪🏻🙏🏻
We need more everyday people on the podcast, Theo!!
hes interviewed a turker farmer, a mortician , a trauma restoration guy, an ex cop, ex border patrol, animal control guy, bryan callen, a woman trucker, a salesman at a gun store he went to, a plumber, a blind woman, and maybe more
I thought Bryan Callen was the woman trucker. Kidding, she's tougher.
Can’t forget about Santa Claus. Counts as a celebrity, but also an everyday guy because… well most of us know, but I don’t want to potentially ruin anyone’s day if they haven’t heard.
Yes! these are my favorite. Actors & comedians are cool but they always end up “talking shop” which is nothing relatable for most listeners.
He does them pretty regularly. They’re always my favorite ones too
What a guy, this is my 2nd time listening to this episode. Toby and Leo are just so comfortable speaking with eachother, great episode and Toby thankyou for your work!
I liked it very much also
It takes a special kind of person. Thank you sir, for doing what many cannot do.
Thank you for doing these types of interviews with non-famous people, Theo. Thoroughly enjoy them.
I had a dear friend that cleaned up after crime scenes. We lived in Lake Charles, LA. He died from a motorcycle accident during the spring…lots of interesting info during this interview. Anyway, he told me he went down to NOLA when the hurricane hit to help clean up. He said he quit after it; the amount of bodies he cleaned was enough for that career for him. Just an interesting tid bit y’all spoke on
RIP Nick
R i.p. shout to lake Charles brother and true detective season 1 was filmed around there I think
@@justinnoceda2115 One of the murders in the show took place in Lake Charles. I don't know if the show itself was filmed there specifically
I cannot even tell you how much I like these episodes. This was a GREAT one. And the NYC garbage man was killer. I’m nice as hell to my garbage man now.
Theo is one of the best interviewers there is, his questions, answers and interactions are so simplistic yet always on point and entertaining. "Postmordadela" c'mon 😂🤣
I laughed so hard and loud it made my daughter jump and give me the bombastic side eye lmao 😂😂 and bro just breezed right past it lol respect 😂❤

Its uncanny how no matter what crazy shit Theo says, the guy just rolls with it like he hears this everyday. You can tell that they share a common background with how at ease they are talking to each other. I'm this way when I reconnect with someone from my hometown even though I haven't lived there in 40 years. Great episode.
I’m from the same area of Louisiana as the coroner and this is how most people from the area are. It is the culture.
Hope Theo knows how much he helps people feel better with his comedy. Making my dull morning much better. Much love Theo.
I am just seeing these kinds of episodes, but I love how you've been bringing "regular" people on, just to learn about their jobs and character

Gang gang.
I've heard about it from Reddit, sounds horrible! Good on you for overcoming that demon!

This was so interesting! Thank you for the candid conversation. I was born in New Orleans & grew up on the North Shore. I have been living in Oklahoma for over 25 years and I just love to hear y'all talk with the accents from back home! ❤ Theo, "the Lord's Braille" comment had me laughing at loud! 😆
Love him bringing regular everyday people on to talk about what they do!
Both these men are legends, Theo asks the type of questions you would generally ask and nothing but respect to Toby for being super real and giving us a insight into a life of a coroner its very deep, I love the comedic and seriousness of this podcast perfect combination, Theo’s question has me laughing but genuinely thought they were good questions. Toby reminds me of Quinton Tarantino, big him up major respect to him 💪🏽
Yeah, I agree, some of his questions were very legit, like the one "what do you roll up with" asking Tiby what tools does he usually bring with or use on a case.
Theo just asks them really weirdly imo.
i CTRL+F'd to see if I could find anyone that also thought he looked like tarantino. thanks

Sorry for the loss of your mother. 😢
Nothing but respect for anyone doing his job, I think we all need to hear from people who sees what is killing us so we can prevent a lot of deaths. Thank you Toby and Theo ❤
