This song is recorded in "Time Odyssey" which I've ever listened MOST FREQUENTLY in my life. (I wouldn't be surprised if I were the most frequently listener of this album.) Every single song in this album is beautiful. He really cares about the tone and volume of the guitar. This is the major difference from other neo-classical guitarists. BTW, did you know that Jordan Rudess played in this album as the keyboardist? I'd bring this album to a desert island.
Such a classic neoclassical rock masterpiece, and it's in major! Not many around the 80s or later dared to venture to the realm of major progressions. Kudos!
Vinnie Moore plays on october 2024 near my hometown. Am so happy to see him live. Great Musician ❤ Vinnie we'll meet us in Vienna. Greetings from Austria
I used to listen to this as i psyched up everytime i was about to do something that required a lot of heart. Forever indebted to you, Vinnie Moore. Salut!
This album was very well put together. Great structures. Sincere melodies and ripping speed at the right times. This album and Tony Macalpine's Maximum Security were the de facto benchmarks for this style outside of Yngwie.
I own this record...in vinyl...Believe it or not. I remember receiving this record as a gift for Christmas, it was in 88 as far as i can remember. Simply magical..
I wonder why there is "unlike" for this kind of quality music. I should say there is lack of proper listening and good ears for this kind of neo-classical track, that is why the "unlike" given by few. Very unfortunate.
don't know if it's the same around the world but here in Thailand, many guitar learners of shredding stuff will get to play this song after months of heavy practice. usually used by many guitar teachers i know.
I was wondering, God the first time I meet Vinnie Moore's work I was a teenager playing my video game (Burning Rangers- Sega Saturn) it was long time ago (about 15 years).

@MUDSHARK111 No I didn't say I play this song well. But you are right about my skill. But at least I used to play better than what you see in my channel. I took an intensive guitar course 3 years ago. Shred. It took nearly 3 months before I had to stop for some reason. So Morning Star was the first (and last) song I got to learn.
@JeDaRy i dont think so... i'm thinking bacon and eggs, toast, pimeal bacon, ham, swiss chedder, sausage, pancakes, tons of syrup, tomato, onion, hash browns, cinnamon toast crunch!!! the works man!! he mustve to power down a Legendary track like this, something the gods feast on..
@SnuffleZeTruffle Perhaps i will listen to them first online hopefully. UFO i dont know, i mean grew up listing to some UFO' Bought one with paul chapman 'mystery train' back in 81 wore it out' On the UFO band documentary Phil mogg almost blames paul chapman for their unsuccess in the early 80s like micheal sheinkar added more, true to a point i guess but 70s hard rock was left out during early 80s MTV shit whatever. More like UFO from the 70s than chapmons great fretboardplay.
I remember listening to this back in the eighties when I was in the military. There were a lot of "Bach N Rollers" back then and it really became overkill. These super talented prodigies like Moore chased the exalted trophy of "baddest ass shredder" and we all wanted to be that guy. It really was a shame though that they didn't express their talents in a more broad form like being one member of an excellent band with diversity. It was a contest of who could be fastest and most accurate while the heart and feel was left out. I feel they put themselves in a box and then the craze kinda faded and left them with guitar teaching gigs and a lackluster career compared to their talent. Take Eddie Van Halen...he is was a band member all the way. He was arguably the GOAT but even he knew his place was in a band. He could have put out a few solo albums of EVH shredding and he would wind up in the same place as the rest. He was difficult to get along with but he knew he was born to be in a band and the rest was history. Not knocking talent and Moore had it in spades but this sort of music is really relegated to aspiring shredders as an unreachable benchmark. The listening world requires something more well rounded, unique and engaging. I miss the old days but can rarely listen to this sort of music for more than a few minutes. I know he was in a few bands like UFO but long, long after they and he were no longer relevant.
I really don't like how his playing is right on the beat, starts on the one and ends on the 4 .Also he starts on the root and ends on the root .
