I love that you guys had this conversation with the kid present and also were able to help her understand a parent's perspective on things like privacy and monitoring their kids. While she IS mature, she still isn't considering things that an adult would.

As a parent ive taken the door off my sons room and daughters room due to them not listening, if ive been asking you to clean your nasty room for a month or if ive told you time and time again you cannot be in the room with the door locked with the opposite sex...you are not ready to be a parent. You have to earn my trust again to get that door back, nothing is going to happen on my watch

Thoughts:
*I don’t care if the age of consent is 16. The age of consent needs to be when you can responsibly handle the mental, emotional, and physical consequences of a sexual relationship (and I’m aware that some adults struggle with that but I still said what I said)
*I’m not dismantling my house for a child because they acted up so that door remains. HOWEVER, 1) you may be sleeping in the family room and getting dressed in the bathroom until you understand why your parents feel their trust in you is broken OR 2) All that is in your room is a tv on the wall and a twin bed. We’ll be moving to an open floor concept since that trust is gone.
*Call the cops on this 20 year old, but also get him counseling and some hobbies. At his age, you’re living a new adult life with a new set of problems. Homeboy shouldn’t have time for a child still talking about going to homecoming and prom and asking the teacher to go to the bathroom. He should be figuring out how he’s going to pay his student loans after he graduates, his bills, and some taxes.

I haven’t been groomed. I could always tell when guys would do it to my friends or other girls in my HS. It pissed me off to no end. And honestly grooming continues to happen within the “alpha” male community. It’s annoying and disturbing

Yea lil shorty getting groomed. When your young you feel responsible but didnt experience enough life to know your being dumb. I do also feel that she is not being fully transparent about this whole situation.
