Consider that a 4-5 year old girl is choosing what songs she wants to sing and bye the time she is five and a half is rearranging the songs learning English and walks into a sound booth at six with her written words and records “I Who Have Nothing”. Listens to Jazz on Utube at two and three. Asked her Mother at three to appear on AGT, only to be told she is too young. Walks on a stage at seven and conquered Norway. By eight she is rehearsing bands and directing them as to how she wants it done. All this while going to school, appearing around the world in charity events, recording covers, learning piano, violin, flute while Mom and Grandmother watch and record. Somewhere in here she has been taking voice lessons, learning to read music, somehow taking in music theory and thinking about writing songs and learning lyrics to a hundred or more songs. Must be some little girl. Not possible. Right. Well it was and is. From six on you can feel every word she sings. It resonates within and moves you. To those who do not see or feel it. You are really missing out.

I know most of the songs Angelina has sung. Many of them I hadn't heard in decades. When I heard her sing them, it's like hearing them for the first time and falling in love with them all over again (even though I didn't care for them one way or the other before). I've suddenly become a fan of jazz classics written more than 70 years ago (sometimes more). sung by a little girl. It defies logic but I love it.

I think she might be the greatest jazz singer who has walked this earth. I have heard them all and seen many of them live. But the emotional understanding she has and the way she puts it across is extraordinary.
Angelina is my test for narcissist's. If you can listen to Angelina and not be moved, you have no empathy. There is your higher power.
This is such a stunning performance, it makes you feel like it's the 1930s or 40s, and she's doing it with quite a large crowd and never nervous.

I'm 74 years old and have heard all kinds of singers of all ages but I am at a loss to explain Angelina. The first time I heard her sing I broke out in goose bumps. I've listened to her over and over since! I can find no words to describe her sounds and the use of her voice. It's almost like she uses her vocal chords like an instrument she has mastered but even that seems to fall short in my estimation to describe her. I have to say I agree with you 100% when you say she's a gift to us. I don't care a bit if others think we're off the wall.
I think someone from the higher powers decided to give a gift to humans, and then figured out that cramming the singing soul from a dozen of the greatest singer there ever was into one girl would be a nice thing to do. That so we could all just be deeply touched by the wonderful world of music in a time of trials, and be reminded that there is a world beyond.
Singing to a backing track is a lot easier than live band she does both perfectly

This performance, particularly, with Angelina standing way out in front in the middle of the audience, all by herself, and yet being fully in the zone at 8 years old is amazing.
What A Difference A Day Makes is one of my "reserved" favorite songs of all time. The music, the words, the background singers, and Dinah's attitude ! I could go on and on.
Angelina owned that song just like Dinah did. But, hey, don't forget that band and those backup singers. They also did a superb job.
My parents were musicians. I wish they were still here so they could hear this beautiful voice of Angelina. They would have loved her as much as I do. Her voice just pulls you into another world.

You could say that she is also minimalist in her approach to singing, no obvious unwanted frills or flounces, just pure emotion and the natural timbre of her voice, she can carry some of the most difficult with ease and some of the most simple songs she adds...soul. Be safe.
This is one of the most phenomenal performances ever, and it’s was done by an 8 year old. The texture and nuances of her voice cannot be learned. She is a prodigy the likes of Mozart at about the same age and trajectory of artistry. People try their whole lives to be an artist of this quality without success!

It's clear, Angelina Jordan's knowledge of composition and experienced vocal expression AT THIS AGE is leaps and bounds above the generation before her. Angelina means little angel. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that God has given us a glimpse of what an angel sounds like.
This is a jewel! It's my go to performance when I feel a little tired, gloom, worried and it immediately brings me such a sense of calm . ♥
I agree 100% with you. Nobody can LEARN this kind of musicality, a sense of timing and deliver these classica likes if she was walking in the park!!! No matter how many hours of training, classes, somebody takes, they'll NEVER sing and perform like this. Period.
Sorry, one more thing. Singing is not about belting as high as you can, not even getting the notes perfect. It's about the connection the artist develops with her audience and Angelina has bucketloads of that.
Nobody can do this beside Angelina, her versatility is one of a kind, her musical intelligence is up there amongst long time gone superstars, the future is Angelin´s
Her diction is also incredible-especially for her age and for English being her third language! Many kids her age round sounds over so much the word get lost.

When Angelina is so identified with her source of inspiration, she leaves me absolutely amazed, when she performs in this Norwegian festival "Sing-along at the Border", at the Fredriksten fortress at Alden, near the border with Sweden, almost every year, she really gives her best, you see that she has a good feeling with the environment. How is it possible that a little girl (in this case at 8 years old) is so incredibly emotional and talented as a professional singer to completely involve and fascinate the his audience. It's simply fantastic, when she closes her eyes she really seems to be in contact with Dinah Washington. 🤗

When asked on "The View", Angelina was asked what does she do for fun. Angelina answered "singing".
It would seem to me that if her parents forced Angelina to sing and spent money for hours and hours of training then her parents wouldn't be turning down 90% of record labels and even Disney.
All I know for sure is that her parents are letting her live a life as close to a regular kid as they can; and not throwing her to the music industry until she becomes more mature.
I couldn't find my ass with both hands at that age, and there she is, already a polished professional. Her musical intuition and instincts are brilliant and flawless. I agree, Wolf, she is a transformative talent. I'm an old guy, but hope to have several more years to enjoy the wonder and beauty of Angelina.

I saw that reaction. It was a great point. I'd take it even further and imagine being the military band or any number of the bands and orchestras she has performed with, and you come into the rehearsal room and there stands this 10 or 11 year old girl who takes command of the process and starts telling the band leader how she wants to interpret the piece. ...And then BOOM - you are accompanying someone who can compete with anyone else you have ever worked with.

Angelina is amazing, and I love her voice. I have been following her since she was months old. Both her mother and grandmother love Jazz. When Angelina was months old, I remember seeing her, on a TH-cam video,. At that time It looked like her mother was in a bed sit. Angelina, was about four or five months old, she was propped up on a bed between pillows in a sitting position with headphones on her head.
I remember, as this baby was so young, I use to worry about her becoming deaf at a young age, as she was so tiny.
This is going back some fourteen years ago. So Angelina was introduced to Jazz music from a very early age. But look at her now.. She is amazing.

I'm an 83yr old fanboy of Angelina Jordan! I believe I have heard almost everything she has done. In the history of the world no one of any age has sung this song any better. She is the best singer at age eight and will be the best at age eighty. Phenomenal girl and phenomenal person. Thank God I am alive to witness this. You younger folks can look forward to great things ahead.
When kids beeing coached you can tell. This is different. It's organic. She feels the music very deeply inside of her. You can't teach that. Beeing on stage seems to be her comfort zone. It's uncanny. Absolutly a born gift.

Imagine you're an experienced vocalist been singing for 30 years and the concert director tells you your going to sing back-up for an 8 year old. Yes sir, she's absolutely a natural, born this way to give to the world beauty, joy, and hope that we all need today and every day.

Artists of international level with a magnificent voice who sing magnificent songs (all genres combined), it is very rare, but there are some in the world who are born and seduce us every decade. But more often, on closer inspection, there is not this little something extra, this sensitive and innocent vibration of the heart in the voice, the humility and the emotion of the naked soul which is sharing, like a timeless magic from elsewhere that we feel in Angélina Jordan and it emanates from her voice but also from her whole person. What makes it so different, so unique. It seems that beyond the natural beauty of this voice which improves from year to year, Angelina naturally breathes music at its right place in her interpretations so often creative and so personal, but also beyond some something so spiritual in what it is and what it communicates so simply. And you are right a thousand times, it cannot be learned and still months so young. She was born this way.
I also have the feeling, by her sensitivity and this innocence, this inner peace when she sings, that it calms the beings who listen to her sing, and ultimately makes us even better people sometimes, if only for the time being of one or a few songs. Really, this artist is a wonderful gift.

You are correct. Angelina has a gift. You can build on it, you can develop it, but you cannot create it by training. This why you "hear" good singers , "feel" great singers and are blown away by singers like Angelina. Unique and wonderful.
You should watch her sing Mr. Lonely ( she changes it to Miss Lonely) with her singing with the Norwegian Armed Forces staff band at a live outdoor concert. The transitions from her low register to high register within the same lyric line is something you wonder if she could hit - and she does it flawlessly.
Great reaction. We share the same wonder with Angelina's natural talent. I believe she has a natural born talent for FEELING the music and has learned how to express those feelings by listening to the jazz and classical greats throughout her young life. Experts will tell you that a child is best able to absorb and learn language and the arts from the time they are born up until about age 5 or 6. I believe she has just naturally picked it up through her love of listening to that type of music. Combine that with her natural talent and a very supportive family, and you have the recipe for becoming one of the greatest artists of our time. You can also tell that she is just absolutely in love with singing and the creative process and is having the time of her life doing it. I am really enjoying watching her journey as she grows up and experiments with her craft.

I hope Angelina will not read these lines. I too who is an atheist, I am very disturbed by Angelina, because what I feel when I listen to her sing is very particular. My vision of the world is disturbed! I start to think that something divine is happening! I'm probably just an old fool who still believes in fairy tales! It is as if the fiction had become real! For me, I often think that Angelina is more than a wonderful singer, that she is something more! This girl inspires me a lot! She seems to have a heart as big as the earth. She has a golden voice! And when she sings, her voice comes straight to my heart! And I begin to ask myself questions!

Once in a life time a voice comes along with complete beauty. If she studied for 100 years you could not teach her that talent. I saw her sing at four and it was beyond belief. I taught 4 year olds for thirty- five years and I never had one with that kind of talent. She is a prodigy and very grounded. Mom is doing a great job protecting her from people like Simon Cowell.
You are exactly right.... "You can't learn this". This is something that is coming from somewhere deep inside. There is so much going on in any of her vocals that a seasoned, pro, adult musician could not even document everything that's happening there. Let alone try to tell someone else how to do it.... and especially not a child. Yes, she has been trained. Yes, she has put in countless hours of work. But if you take away that rare special thing she was born with, she would just be like all the other singers that have been trained, and have put in the work... and have no chance of ever sounding like this.

Few people (reaction videos) give her credit for her amazing repertoire of songs. This young and can remember all the words to these songs is an amazing talent in itself. She is spectacular, stunning, magnificent and a great talent. In many of her performances she does the arraignments also. WOW! Just wow!
She has a rare vocal genius. There are child prodigies in many fields, art, piano, mathematics, physics, but I've never seen one with this kind of vocal talent. Some young kids can belt out songs, but what she does goes much deeper than that, as you so eloquently put it. Don't apologize for running out of words to describe her, it is the only way to properly give tribute.

We struggle to explain how someone so young can possess talent at this level. And while I know where you are coming from with the Asian family analogy, that is not at all the case with Angelina. She caught the music and performance "bug" very, very early, and no one forced her to embrace it. And it wasn't go to be "twinkle twinkle little star". She was so focused, determined, and dedicated at such a young age, they probably had to drag her away to get her to eat. That's not something you see very often. And you can't take that out of the formula when attempting to explain her phenomenal talent. Prodigy: I would say yes. Her talent is a Gift: I would also say yes. But focus, determination, dedication, family nurturing, emulating exception performers, and practice, practice, practice. These are also a very big part of her incredible talent. When I listen to Angelina, I relax and manage to travel during the time she sings. She manages to make me travel to see the world in a different way, she has such peace and wisdom in her voice. Sure she can tame the wildest horse❤
Angelina far surpasses technique that can be taught. You can't teach someone 28 or 38 how to feel and interpret music, much less an 8 yr old.
And then there is of course this one! Definitely one more of those I`ll never get too much of. A favorit of the highest range of mine. You are very right as you say she is spesial. There are a number of great performing kids, but surtenly Angelina is something else.
I think it is never about the performance with her. What do the performance take to be great or even outstanding? That`s not the question for Angelina, I think. It is the song. What does it take from me to do the song the best way I can do? How can I make this song stand out, and comunicate it in the very best way to the audience? I`m not saying 7-8 year old Angelina do such a reasoning on her songs. But I guess it comes naturally for her to focus on the song this way, and not necessarily on her own performance. I think she would not choose to sing many of the songs she does, if she was all about her performances. All about herself and her singing career. She IS a singer, and she loves to sing. But I think; - to her singers sing SONGS, and so she focus on the song, what it takes, and what it demands from her. As we so often see/hear, she strips her performance down, and its like she is saying; -"to do this song, less is more" or; - "This song really needs me to go for it, all in, and use all I have". I honestly think she is a natural in understanding music and singing, and she was schooled by all these classic souls, as she picked up on techniques and different ways of using the voice.

Yes man, you are absolutely right about everything you said here. This girl has the whole package. Shes a beautiful person in and out, so humble, grounded and shy. She has the ability to understand and care for other people at such a young age. Like others have already said, how can you learn at the age of 6 to understand and support people who struggle and have a tough life in general.How can you make promises at the same age and keep them true, and relevant up to this day for sow long without exception, without any excuses like a bad weather, or any at all? We all know how long it takes before a random kid at the age of 6 makes a promise and completely forget it in a matter of seconds, or minutes at most. And with that being said, she's super gifted musically and vocally. These things you can't learn and practice. Like I've said before in other comment, you can be very good in something with extensive training and practicing, but with this you need also talent to be able to become great. That's why you can't learn to be Michael Jordan. It doesn't matter how many hours per day, for how many years you train. If you don't have the gift, forget it. Jorrell, how about "Heavenly Magic" ? Nary a day goes by without me listening to her sing. And, it doesn't matter how many times I replay the same song, I get the same feeling inside me every time. We know Dimash is unbelievable but isn't it remarkable that a lot of us in lala land and you reactors actually can include Angelina in the same sentence with Dimash?! They both are able to touch our hearts when they sing and they have brought great joy to my life.
