I personally opened my account entirely online with DBS! www.dbs.com.sg/personal/support/bank-account-new-opening.html I'd highly recommend DBS as I've had only positive experiences banking with them :-) Opening was super fuss-free + I've lost my debit card once and all it took was a few clicks on the DBS to get a replacement on the way. When signing up, the only crucial document I required to get was a proof of residence from where I stay (RVRC). If the processes are still the same as when I applied last August, I even recall the admin staff telling me it's easier to prepare the DBS document than the OCBC one!
And of course DBS is probably the most popular bank in Singapore so you'll find that most places you go payment by DBS Paylah! (DBS' e-wallet) is accepted :-) You'll also have no issues finding branches!
whats the best way to pay at food courts in sg ? :) we are traveling from oz, we look at different travel money cards which have multiple currencies (we plan to load oz dollars then convert it to sgd)... but sg seems to be fussy with payment method at food courts?
