The series was excellent. I'll be shocked if both actors don't get numerous awards for this. They really captured George and Tammy in a very raw way. I loved it!
I hope Michael Shannon is nominated (and wins) for his performance as George Jones. He’s talented and I think underrated. Jessica Chastain is always brilliant.

You are not knowledgeable on his legacy obviously. He’s an HBO king. The same writer that wrote most of the Sopranos Terrance Winter, who also created James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano also Made Boardwalk Empire a Huge Box office hit and he was a main star. I sincerely believe you need to educate yourself before you make statements that deserve to be underrated.

They are both kicking butt in the role as George and Tammy… They are both amazing actors… Michael Shannon is a great actor and I feel this role was so different than what he normally does and he is amazing in it. The singing is great too…

Excellent series! I wasn’t expecting too much…I’m a Nashville/country music native and my standards were high! Holy smokes! Michael and Jessica gave outstanding performances. They embodied each character. I loved it.
Had no idea Michael could sing. Both he and Jessica were fabulous.
Michael Shannon CANNOT sing, and should NEVER have been cast in this role.

You see, normal people without mental retardation wanted to see a show with two actors acting like George & Tammy. If we wanted to hear George & Tammy sing then we have these things called…..records. 😆 So your critique is asinine and irrelevant.
They nailed it! I was very surprised by how good this series was and their portrayals. He acted like my truck driver father(RIP)who grew up on dairy tobacco farms in southern Kentucky. Authentic.

I just finished the final episode last night. I’m a 67 year old man that didn’t know a lot about George or Tammy other than seeing them while growing up on tv a few times. Never really been a big fan of country music though I have love George Jones’ vocals for years. I thought that these two were awesome. I was mesmerized through the whole series. I must add that I used about half a box of tissue watching the finale.. .OMG! So very sad. When George sang the song He Stopped Loving Her Today to Tammy it made be nearly blubber as I sat and watched it. Again.. the whole story is so very sad… and I truly believe there should be some big awards coming to these two, and the director etc. On another not.. I thought that Goggin looked a whole lot like George Jones as his character in the series. Standing Ovation to you all for such a great series. !!
Saw all episodes and the actors were great!! Their singing was very impressive. Really brought George and Tammy back to life. Loved the series. Could have watched 8 more episodes, maybe 20 more of this great acting!

Chastain has all the awards to her name..but Shannon is by far the superior actor in this series..fact is he’s so laid back he makes acting look easy..it’s his effortless style the way he goes about his business..that makes him so convincing.
I was crushed and shocked when he wasnt nominated for Globe and SAG. I thought he was brilliant. There was so much music. He was incredible in this role.....Lets hope the Emmy voters recognize this performance. He was robbed.
I loved the series. It was short, sweet and both actors did a wonderful job portraying George and Tammy ❤️ the last episode was very emotional 💔
These 2 are fabulous anyway, and episode 1 of "Tammy and George," had us rewinding, rewatching scenes! The singing! Loved the interview part with you both after the episode showing us what's ahead. You've captured their entire personas on stage, and what passion they had for each other! I liked the scene when George asks Tammy to go with him, and asks her "which kids were hers." Now, that sounds like something George would say. I'm not surprised you two are pulling this off.
I cannot stop listening to the Jessica Chastain's version of 'Stand by your man' - she is so good - I really hope she wins all the awards this year!!!!!

frightened to sing that one - that's my favorite - I found it on Spotify and added it to the Playlist for the movie - but that one is Tammy Wynette - fine with me. I love the song.

Mr.Shannon also played the Iceman , a hitman for the Mafia. Very good actor and artist.

I love both Jessica and Michael, what a phenomenal job you both have done ! When I heard they would be playing Tammy and George two of my favorite singers I grew up with hearing in our home I knew they could pull it off . I commend you both what an awesome job !!!

George was raised down the road from my hometown. My uncle Leon used to go up and paint and do odd ends on Mr. Jones' house from time to time. I was hoping someone would do this one day. Thank you for doing such a great job and showing so much love and respect. My wife had family that would play in his and her bands from time to time as well.
When I found out there was going to be a series I went nuts! I have watched the three episodes so far and it is amazing! Michael and Jessica have done an amazing job!!

I've watched two of the episodes and I think they picked great actors to play George and Tammy. I grew up listening to thier music my whole life. I knew about thier stories too. I got to see George Jones twice in concert, but unfortunately I didn't get to see Tammy. I have always loved to hear both of them sing. It's sad what Tammy had to go through though. Trying to raise kids and putting up with men mistreating her. It's so heartbreaking. Tammy was so beautiful. Well, she's in heaven with Jesus now living in her mansion and she won't have to ever worry about anyone taking it from her again. There's no more sorrow, no more tears, no more pain. May they both rest in peace. 🕊🕊❤❤
Michael and Jessica is the best. Nobody could behave played George and Tammy as well as they have. They are Great. I knew George and Tammy both personally and was with them daily during their entire marriage and knew both of them probably better than anybody, so I think my opinion of them would hold a lot of accuracy of how they were and how they lived their life together as a couple. Michael and Jessica has got them down to exactly the way they were. Like I said I KNEW THEM PERSONALLY FOR YEARS before their marriage, during their marriage and after their divorce. Thanks to Michael and Jessica. Also thanks to Walton Goggins and Kate Arrington as well for how well they play Peanutt and Charlene Montgomery. I have a right to say that!!!

I loved this series. George Jones was my grandmother's country hero. I think this portrayed his & Tammy's life & marriage very well. Georgette was very much involved.

I’ve always loved Micheal Shannon’s movies!! The Ice Man was my favorite! I watched the first show last night and it’s going to be outta this world!! Jessica plays Tammy to the T.. Micheal sounds just like Jones.. ohh I can’t wait to watch more !!
He sounds nothing like George Jones, no one does. Jessica though is very close to Tammy's voice.

I loved both of them sooo much. No body could have done a better job playing them. I've got a right to say that because i knew both of them probably better than any body did. I had never heard of these two singers and now I can't stop listening to their songs. That scene in the series where he sings, "He stopped loving her today" is my favorite of all the series. So raw and heartbreaking. Love these two actors.

I been n love wit Jessica plus she California raised good Lord she a beautiful woman.
They were GEORGE AND TAMMY!!!! And I believe the real George and Tammy would be VERY PROUD of Michael and Jessica's performance. And Michael DEFINITELY deserves an Oscar for his performance!!!! Now George Ritchie's family are probably NOT HAPPY with the way he was portrayed, so realistically and all.

I grew up in the mid 60’s and my Father played only Country Music and I sang their songs and loved them. Now, I’m 58 and those memories came all back. It felt great and that was Country back then. I’ll always remember them as great singers. Sorry they had so many issues with alcohol and drugs. RIP

George Jones book ( I lived to tell it all ) covers this story very well.
If you ask me he deserves Oscar for the work he done, he was believable as George Jones, and they both complimented each other!!!! This was a role in a lifetime and he was just brilliant, I hope he gets a globe for this role Stephanie too!!!! Due to it being a cable series I don't think he can get an oscar, not sure about Emmy or Golden glove, but he deserves recognition a d I'm confident his peers feel the same way!!!! I've loved him in every role he has played in he was excellent as the psychotic wanderer in Bug!!!!! Just a great job with this series I ❤ it!!!!
They did an amazing job portraying the lives of the Greatest Country love story couple & singing Duo there ever was. They sang all their own tracks and did a wonderful job bringing us the music in their own voices, which I truly loved.
They both seemed so real and genuine during all the drunk .. love... & music scenes they had together. Their chemistry was fun to watch and felt real as we the audience went on the roller coaster journey of their lives from the beginning of their relationship to the very end up until their divorce and on into her death as well. I never knew just how powerful their love for one another truly was.. this series showed me just how important it was that their life had affected & inspired each others music 🎶.
They had some amazing hits together and separately in the country music industry. I enjoyed every episode. Well done 👌🏽❤️❤️🙏🏼

These two were fantastic in the series.
i loved the series George and Tammy. they both acted terrific, just outstanding both of them. singing was amazing. it was just so very sad how Tammy used so much drugs and her life ended so young. I wanted to know why didn't George and her children help her get off the drugs??? i also read that last husband George Richey inherited most of her estate. Why? just so very sad for her. what a wonderful talent Tammy was.
i consider Jessica Chastain the most beautiful woman in Holly wood today. first time i saw her was in that weird movie, the tree of life, and i fell in love with her instantly! i loved her in The Help, and i loved her as Tammy Fay and now as Tammy Wynette. Michael Shannon holy crap can he sing! i was very impressed!
