  • I couldn’t find a “how-to” video when I wanted to change the bucket pins on my New Holland C232 Compact Track Loader... So, I made one. Hope it helps!

    Thanks for taking the time to do this. I have an ls 140 that has lost its spacers and probably needs the pins/bushings doing so this has been really helpful... all the best..

    Great video! Answered every question I've come accross while doing the pins on my LS160. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
    FYI for LS160/170 pins: the new bolt that comes with the pin kits is a 5/8 x 8" and is way too long. You'll need a 5/8" x 7" grade 8 to fit right on these machines. They have that size at Fastenal...Lowes, TSC, and Home Depot do not carry the 7" length.

    Hey, thanks for the video. I recently bought a New Hollands skid steer and it has been nothing but a disappointment. One break down after another. When I finally sell this POS I will never own another piece of N.H. equipment again!! Good luck with yours!

    Excellent video. Identical to my NH LX665 Turbo. I'll never take it to the dealer again for this repair. Save yourself about a grand!

    Thanks for the tips on seals. I always thought that the metal part of the seal faced in regardless of the lubricant being used.

    Thanks, I needed to see some of this. I have a mid 90’s JD/New Holland and that side slop at every connection has always annoyed me while using it. There were never any of those spacers at any pin/bushing connection. Now that I actually need to replace some bushings I will fix that.

      You folks just getting into spring I imagine? We’re into late fall up here in Canada and missing summer already with 50cm of snow on the ground. (Happened over two days in a “once in 10 years” snow event 👎)

    We have a L170. Same basic design but no seal or snap ring. We've manged to snap a pin off a time or two. They are really hard to get out if you do that.

    Finally got round to checking mine today..my 140 has done 1900 hours. Pins came out with no hassle...all in great condition..hardly any wear on pins and bushings looked great as well....loads of life left in both..result! I fabricated my own spacer as the dealers in the UK wanted £60 for 4 (you mentioned the PRC washer...your right..New Holland sure know how to charge for spares) ..I only needed one...frankly crazy money. No more bucket crashing around..its bliss.. I do have a question though... do you have any spacers between the top of the boom lift cylinder and the boom on the pin or is the lateral play designed in...mine has a stack of room for lateral play and not sure if that is correct or if I should fab some spacers to go on the pin. I dont like the thought of the cylinder being able to move around that much. Thanks.

      My L218 has the same lateral play. I've yet to go to the New Holland dealership and compare to the new machines.

    How did you remove the cap after the snap ring is off? This is where we got stuck. Thanks for the help!

      Hi there! I’m assuming you mean the dustcap. If so, Just take a screwdriver or a chisel and put it as close as you can to the point where the dust cap makes contact with the loader frame and just gently tap with a hammer while prying out.

    Do you have a video that deals with it not turning to the left and what it could be?

    • @jagerheimfarm3817
      @jagerheimfarm3817  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I don’t Debbie, but I would check to make sure your joystick wiring is well grounded. If the joysticks “twist” while you’re holding them, they need to be tightened and MAY be a possible solution. The operators manual has a pretty decent trouble shooting section and a New Holland dealer can be a great resource. If I ever have this problem, I will make a video on how to fix it. I wish you luck!

      If your machine is manual control, tilt the cab and see if the control rods are hooked up and moving correctly. I’ve seen the pins come out of a control rod clevis and the control stick isn’t actually moving the valves. Look to see what moves when you move the control stick.

    How do I get out the tapered pins from the arms

    • @jagerheimfarm3817
      @jagerheimfarm3817  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just beat on the outside of the housing… Like you would on an automotive ball joint. The pins will spring/jump out on their own. You’ll need a good size hammer, and don’t be shy.

    @ailsadunsford8973 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How did the pin assembly get pulled out?

    • @jagerheimfarm3817
      @jagerheimfarm3817  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once you have the nut off and the main bolt removed, you hit the forward facing(long side) part of the of the arm/boom where the pin is housed... Like you would for removing a ‘tie rod’ on a car or truck. After a few good strong hits, you should see it ‘jump’. Then you can tease the tapered pin out using the original bolt or something similar. The tapered pin is removed and installed from the inner side of the loader booms through the bucket frame.

    It takes you ten minutes to say something that could be said in ten seconds and you repeat yourself three times over every time. However the information was good and helpful to anyone contemplating doing this job.

    That's not a seal it's called a wiper. What you need is a double lip seal with a garter spring. Those keep the dirt out and the grease in!

    How did u get the old bearings out?

    • @jagerheimfarm3817
      @jagerheimfarm3817  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a punch to drift them out from the opposite side. There was enough room to catch the edge of the bushing.

    • @jagerheimfarm3817
      @jagerheimfarm3817  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The pins themselves you need to just beat on the loader frame with a hammer on the outside of where the pins are housed... once you do that a few times the pins will ‘jump’ out of the housing. Like a ball joint on a car.
