  • When it comes to GYN, it seems like a clear yes or no for most providers. They love it, or feel totally mystified.
I'm obsessed, but I know that's not the case for everyone.
In this week's video I'm covering IUD counseling--
what you need to know as a PCP to discuss choosing an IUD for contraception, the differences between each kind, side effects...
There are a few things I left out, like the actual risks of the procedure that the inserting provider usually discusses--
but it includes the general gist of what patients want to know.

Thank you for your videos, they are great. This one was very helpful for a male NP student to help prepare for my womens health clinical. Great review and helped me create an informed dialogue with patients.

Also risk of uterine perforation I think is a big one to mention to patients

Thank you for this. I was off birth control 10 years trying to get pregnant &when I finally conceived it was twins! Not looking to get pregnant any time soon!! But I dont know about all these new options &I really appreciate these videos....the video on the implant, it didn't say anything about wheb removing do you instantly go back to being fertile like the iud? Or no?

Congratulations on your twins! I can't, unfortunately advise for safety and legal reasons, but I do recommend you follow up with your primary care provider.
