Found out from my fitting a while back that I come in very steep. Ended up with Callaway Paradigm 3 wood set to 16 (more of a 4 wood) and a 7 wood. Both half inch long LA golf A series X flex. 7 wood was an adjustment but now I love it, so easy to hit. The takeaways from this video were validating

Such an important part of the bag. This is a 215yd club for me and when I had my first full fitting a little over 5 years ago was the first time I had thoughtfully and specifically addressed that yardage. Such a different feeling when you step into that yardage on a long par 3 or 2nd into a par 5 and you have the confidence knowing....I have that club/shot in the bag.

This test sums up why I’m really going to miss you two. It does (in a small way) validate my set up after 3 wood. 19 degree 7 wood @ 5 wood length into 19 degree 3 hybrid into 21 degree 3 iron. Wind conditions shot shape and lie dictate which club I take. It’s rarely the right one.

Needed this video BAD! Just got fitted at Club Champion for full bag. Ended up with Ping i230 irons with Accra iSeries 115 shafts, Ai Smoke 💎 💎 💎 9° with Accra GX 260 M5, and GT2 15° 3 wood set at D3 (1.5° UPRT and 15.75° loft) with Accra GX 200F M5. Need to go back and decided if I want to stick with my T200 2 iron that I carry 245 with a baby fade or go into a GT2 5 wood for a little more forgiveness. Unfortunately the store I went to didn’t have a GT2 5 wood, so I will have to wait until I get back home to Florida to get fitted and see if it works better for me than the 2 iron. Can’t wait to get my new clubs in! Definitely didn’t expect to be in Accra shafts in everything, Ping irons, and a Titleist 3 wood. I was already gaming the Ai Smoke, but with a stock AV2 white 65 gram stiff from a Rogue ST driver I had.

Great choice of topic and right on point for me. An update to my 3w has created a big enough gap to my 7w, and I'm seriously looking at a 5w as the solution including demoing a club a couple of weeks ago. My hybrid tends to head far too left and so I'll demo a UT and see where that puts me - and then maybe it is time for a fitting to make sure the flight, and distance are optimal before I take the plunge. Going to miss you guys on here - but looking forward to what comes next !

I have the Callaway 19° & 17° UW and the 18° UT. I usually carry all of them but if I had to carry only 14, then I’d choose the 19° UW. Average carry off the tee is about 245-250 with 10-15 yards of rollout. I absolutely love the shape and it performs adequately out of the rough. It doesn’t have the typical hybrid hook, and the dispersion is excellent. I feel like it’s very workable right, left, high or low.

Another quality video, thanks guys for the insight as always.
Unrelated but there's been something I've wondered for a while now - if a golfer tends to get along with a shaft that has, say, a stiffer mid and tip section but they're only in an R flex due to swing speed, could they reasonably see equally good results with a shaft that has a softer profile in the mid and tip but is an S (or perhaps even X) flex? I guess what I'm curious about is whether the effects of profile and flex could be mutually replicable if you went extreme enough in either variable. Thought this might make for a cool test.

This part of the bag is super tough. I’ve settled on 13 clubs with a super hot low spin Srixon 5 wood and cobra king tec 4 hybrid. Both are easily a club longer than they should be but retain ease of launch and stick on greens. I’m convinced the 5 wood I have is really a 4 wood that just had 5 wood painted on it.
I’m trying a driving iron as the 14th club but second my swing is a tiny bit off I’m dead in the water.
I do have a 7 wood and 3 wood too but when any one of those are in there’s too much overlap.
Either going to go for some kind of cheat stick to help my short game (what I SHOULD do) or be one of those guys who gets suckered into the mini driver hype (what I should not do 😂)

I got it used with +1 inch length shaft. 3wood is used with standard length shaft. 4h and 5i down to GW are fitted from PXG with +0.5inch shafts. But that was also the longest they had in their fitting bays, which I thought was super bizarre. I think I need at least +0.75 inch shafts. The 4h i top more often than id like. The 3wood is wildly inconsistent. But the 5wood is like heaven.

Problem with about 90% of golfers is that they don’t have the speed for a 2 iron to be efficient. 5 wood might also be very similar to the 3 wood and often times like with Mikey is that the 3 wood is often kept in the bag during a round of golf. Hybrid has probably more versatility and is what I ended up picking for myself (17 & 21 degrees).

I believe they r high launch shafts even though its a stiff shaft). 2i just isnt the easiest to hit especially off the ground. Also the 2i maybe its too light? Been trying to figure out this part of my bag for a few years now, super frustrating. however I think having some combo of hybrid/Fw that are interchangeable depending on wind/course conditions is pretty key. Flighting down a 7 wood on a really windy day is really a big ask for me personally vs hitting a lower flighted shot with hybrid. I'm still wrestling with the idea of moving to a 4 wood instead of a 3 wood, and haven't been able to commit fully to using a 7 wood even though its probably better for me. Just don't have the confidence in it the way I do a hybrid...golf am i rite? lol

As a mid-handicap I can't reliably hit the 4i in my bag unless it's on a tee. Why would I even consider a 2i? I do have an 18* hybrid and a 18* 5 wood. To induce a lower flight path I just move the ball back at address a couple of inches. For higher trajectory I put the teed up ball closer to my lead foot and do admit that the 5W does fly higher than the hybrid.

Yes that’s part of it, but it’s a 3 dimensional problem. What creates more/less spin and what creates face rotation.

So I guess we are gonna watch the slow death of this channel over the next 2 months as prerecorded videos go out. End of an era. :(

Who is this video for? If you don't drive it longer than 250, have a 4W and 7W. Shouldn't even be messing with 18 degree clubs lol.

    • @craigdiehm3017
      @craigdiehm3017 วันที่ผ่านมา

@ianfrasergolf my point is that Club Champion does fittings for alot of different brands, and yet you choose to make comparison videos using the same 3 brands over and over. It gets boring to watch the same manufacturers get compared over and over. PXG and Cobra both make a great hybrid. Where are they in your videos? Wilson is making some great irons, where are they? Even Mizuno barely rates a mention in most of the videos.
