      Yeah, I feel like he’s kind of underrated as a guitarist on TH-cam. He has so much content, very creative, helpful, and inspiring, but other TH-cam guitarists get more subscribers than him for 20 second meme videos (no offense to Kmac). If you want to learn more techniques, I noticed this solo lacked 2 whammy bar techniques. I believe I learned them from Steve Vai.
    1, Gargling - Pick a note normally, then slap the whammy bar in a sideways motion for a ultra fast vibrato. Works best with a floating tremolo system.
    2, Lions/Tiger Roar - Pick a note, slide up one half note while pressing the whammy bar down to compensate so you land on the same note you started on. Slide up one half note again and press the whammy down again. Keep doing this really fast so that you keep the same note while sliding up the fret board. When you reach the top of the fretboard you change the direction while slowly let the whammy bar go toward it's initial position. Essentially what you will be hearing is your finger sliding over frets while keeping the same note.

    HOW THE HECK YOU GET TAPPING HARMONICS

    • @flynnedwards
      @flynnedwards 5 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Tap the edge of a fret while you have another note held. It has to be the right fret though, just find it. Make sure to do it quickly and not to keep your tapping finger held down, bring it up quickly.

    • @blastedmusic3812
      @blastedmusic3812 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Say if you were to fret a note on the 5th fret, you would just barely tap the same string on the edge of the 17th fret. (I find it easiest to put a 12 fret space but you could experiment).

    • @VOLAIRE
      @VOLAIRE 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This helped a lot thanks

    • @cornela1
      @cornela1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Expanding on the comment saying 'find the right fret', you can find the harmonics at 5, 7 or 12 notes from the fretted note.
      So if you fret 2 on any string, you can find the harmonics on the 7th, 9th, and 14th frets.
      Bonus:
      On some acoustic guitars or high distortion electric you can even do natural harmonics on non-standard positions like fret 4 (like Van Halen) or even 3 or 2 or 6 even.
      Dope for (prog) metal!

    • @Neishy4AGTE
      @Neishy4AGTE 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cornela1 correct, theres actually quite a few there in between 2 and 4th fret in odd spots, very hard to hit everytime on purpose lol. These harmonics are quite often hit naturally when players mute, which makes that muting sound unique to some players.
