@@AFRMTY men that I know typically aren't into specific things when it comes to quality and since I dont use what men do I dont know what things are nice for men. The men I know just buy what is available and call it good. So I would like to have an opinion from a man who is able to try out things and have a formed opinion on things so I can buy things that are nice for my dad and brothers and boyfriend that they might actually enjoy. I dont know of any youtubers that are men that do "best of" videos for hygiene and personal use that are for muscular men. I mean I'll take recommendations from most glam men and slather whatever is fillng in their pores on my face. But my boyfriend isn't looking for a dewy settng spray, hes wanting/needing a deodorant that lasts longer than 3 hours.

I’m honestly really proud of you for deciding to declutter your makeup collection. Can you do an updated makeup collection after you’re finished? I want to know what made the cut and your process of decluttering.

Hey Tati! My sister in law is really wanting to get more into makeup but she doesn’t really know anything.. I’m the worst teacher and no beauty gurus REALLY go over the basics anymore. Could you maybe do one long video or break it into a series where you go over the very basics? What order to apply things in.. what different kind of products will do for your skin (like powder vs liquid foundation,) the steps to do simple eyeshadow looks, (what kind of colors for a transition shade, wet vs dry shadow) like really break it down for beginners who are clueless. I think it would be super informative coming from you and nobody really does that anymore since it’s just assumed everyone knows the basics. Thanks Tati!

Erika Jurkowski she did do that drugstore starter kit but I’m meaning more of the actual makeup application basics not just the products to buy. My SIL has plenty of money to buy drugstore or luxury items but she needs videos teaching her how to apply everything and what steps, what kind of products can layer on top of what and all that kind of stuff. I thought it might be a cool series or something for Tati to do!

The Female Marauder that’s a pretty crap excuse. Plenty viewers are hard of hearing. If you say you care about your fans you need to care about all of them. Also literally anyone could help her with captions she just needs to turn the option on.

Honestly Jouer is one of my favorite high end brands, and I feel like until this past year I have barely heard much talk about it. So I'm glad it's getting the attention it deserves.
@Boogie G They have amazing bronzers and blushers but not the best shade range. I am light and use 'medium to dark' bronzing duo so keep that in mind :)
Jouer's concealer is the only concealer that is both high coverage and does not crease on my skin and I have yet to find any other concealer that works as well. Even Tarte shape tape doesn't hold a candle to Jouer essential high coverage concealer

Wait, wait, wait. You mean the girls who played Eve 7 & Eve 8 are your sisters. Holy crudmuffin! That episode is hands down my favorite of all the X-files. It was also the basis for one of my GURPS character (i.e. what if in addition to Adams and Eves, there was a third, more secret series of Lilliths). Ok, I already was a fan, but this is even more to like. :)

I converted to clarisonic! I got it for my birthday and I have used it for a month now and it's FANTASTIC !!! My skin looks like never before! It's quite an investment but it's worth every penny! The blending brush....heavenly! Thanks Tati!
Tarte Shape Tape and the Timeless primer both contain fragrance. Also the Origins primer contains lavender oil.
If you've been following closely, you'll hear her say that there are some products that work so well that she can turn a blind eye to one or two ingredients that she doesn't enjoy for the benefit of the product. She said it's hard to find everything that fits what she's looking for and she can recognize that, but she'd rather do as much as she can - hence her getting rid of some products with fragrance vs. keeping ones with fragrance that happen to do a better job.
jediah556 then that makes no sense. she’ll declutter some things from her collection just for having fragrance or lavender and others she won’t?? if she really wanted to cut all those things out she would... actually cut them all out
Thank you, this video annoyed the crap out of me. She pushed so many products that have horrible ingredients like they were gold and now “ew I can’t use these anymore.” And she wonders why she gets taken off pr lists. 🙄

I love that you are talking about cleaner ingredients in your makeup! This is something most beauty bloggers aren’t concerned with. I would love to see you test out the luxury nontoxic brands in the green beauty world! Kjaer Weiss, Jane Iredale, Sappho, Fitglow, Crunchi, Vapour...just to name a few!! These are some of the cleanest on the market!

Just a PSA to everyone scrolling through the comments: makeup being gluten-free is only relevant or important when it’s being applied around or on your mouth. Gluten cannot be absorbed through the skin (I’m a severe Celiac btw), so if lipstick or moisturizer is gluten-free, that’s actually helpful. If eyeshadow is gluten-free, they’re just trying to make themselves look trendy

Tati .. Clinique is right up your alley with everything you want. Get on board with their foundations and skincare. They're amazing!
I really think it would be good for everyone for you to sit down with a professional, whether it be a chemist, dermatologist, someone actually certified in these things, and discuss these ingredients you keep bringing up. I don't really trust your opinions on ingredients, since it comes off as you acting like someone who doesn't understand the ingredients and then labels them "bad", even though I trust your opinion on makeup items in terms of usage, application, and price points.
I love you Tati, but maybe you need to consult someone who is a professional when it comes to ingredients in skincare and cosmetics, and has academic research to back up their statements. It would be make a cool video too! We could all take some time to learn about this stuff.
She has a brand and she researched ingredients, had professionals work with her on her products, why wouldnt she know that?

Marie Yeshulas, what makes you think she’s giving you a biased opinion? She’s just cleaning up her makeup products, as she becomes more aware of which products contain ingredients she would like to avoid. She isn’t saying that she’s fully committing to using ONLY “clean” products exclusively.

Tati I love Sol De Jeneiro too and always have it on hand, but have you tied Barefoot Venus products? They smell just as amazing, if not slightly more. My favorites are Pink Pepper and Maple Blondie. I'm obsessed!

tati, just an fyi, sometimes preservatives are listed as "fragrance" because it has a smell and they don't want to admit that they are using chemical preservatives. preservatives, of course, are a necessity. so don't just toss one because it says fragrance. dig further and see if its acting as the preservative.

Yes and some of them are naturally derived. ‘Naticide’ is an example, as per the INCI it must legally be listed ‘Fragrance’ or ‘Parfum’.

I would honestly love to see an in depth video dedicated to you explaining why you took out the ingredients that you did from your makeup/skincare routines. Your decluttering has intrigued me and I’d love to hear your opinion as to why specific ingredients may not be ideal for everyone. Especially because I tried doing research of my own and just got overwhelmed so it’d be amazing to hear your take on it and kind of have a little learning session about some of the ingredients in makeup.

Shape tape is so heavily fragranced... like alarmingly fragranced, esp for something intended for the eye area.

While pregnancy some bands in the lower back and bands in the foot are more loose. So it’s more common with wearing heals to get back pain or overstretch something. It’s no attack on someone it’s just information
I will forever stand by Bum Bum cream I originally got it in a boxy charm the small one six months ago and that little jar lasted me FOREVER and it's literally the best lotion I've ever used I just got a larger pot of it, it's good for any skin type with any level dryness
I refuse to buy higher makeup full price (normally go to TJ MAXX) but the fenty highlight is 1 of 2 things I’ve ever bought in full

Tati I love you and I don’t wanna be that person butt.... Your skin is the more absorbent and fragile when wet, so using the Brazilian-4-play body wash has so much fragrance that it would do so much more damage than a fragranced foundation. No to mention that you most likely have moisturizer, sunscreen, and a primer as a barrier between them. I totally applaud you for wanting to be more “clean” with you’re products but you’re contradicting yourself continuously. If you’re really for this clean movement, you should have a highly accredited dermatologist come in and go through all your products and tell you the good and the bad, what you should keep and what should go. It would make for a great video and also very educational to yourself and your viewers.
Most of her ingredient restriction is for face products because her face skin is sensitive and prone to breakout from specific ingredients. And she’s more worried about anything drying and aging on her face. Makes perfect sense to me. I’m the same way.
I agree she is being contradicting. If your face is sensitive your body likely is too. It is full of fragrance, and clarisonics are considered skin barrier disruptors. Check out Dr. Dray on TH-cam she is very knowledgeable.
Chelsea Miracle maybe you don’t have sensitive skin but I have very sensitive face skin that is prone to breakouts from products but I don’t get breakouts on any other part of my body so can attest there is a difference for at least some people
@@briannairene185 that may be true right now, but you never know when you will actually react to a fragrance because all fragrances are irritants and unnecessary. Not everyone has to avoid it, due to lack of sensitivity, but anyone can develop an allergy at any time to any fragrance. Sometimes it develops out of the blue and your body comes in contact with your face and that spreads!
You did make a good point about the barrier with the layers of face products ;) that makes people happy to be able to still use their fav performing makeup products I'm sure.

Hey Tati, loved the video but there’s no evidence to say that parabens/thalates are bad for the human body. No academic paper states this, i would like to know where you have this information from to say that they’re bad, plenty of papers suggest the opposite due to the public’s opinion. Also it’s used in medication regularly... I’m actually a chemist working in this field I just find it interesting why everyone is taking about non ‘toxic’ as it’s a marketing ploy - everything is a chemical essentially. Your reviews are immense and I trust your opinion on those but I think it may be eye opening to educate everyone on the chemistry of skincare/makeup and what we should move away from - I’m speaking about academic journals more than happy to help 😊 happy new year!

Completely agreed. I respect Tati's opinions and her passion for makeup. But I'm not a big fan of her series on clean makeup/skincare. I'm a neuroscientist and confused by a lot of ingredients she thinks of as "unclean" (such as lavender oil, which is anti-inflammatory) as there are so many more chemicals used in cosmetics regularly that are potentially more irritating. I'd appreciate Tati do her research more thoroughly before voicing her opinions on the chemistry of cosmetics because a lot of people who don't have a strong scientific background rely on her opinions.
@@vitortang9313 I totally agree when it comes to many of the often targeted chemicals mentioned in the original comment, however if her skin does react to lavender she is saying she avoids it because it makes her breakout, not because it will make everyone else break out as well.
Ahe says what works for her. As a chemist you know everyone responds differently to chemicals. If you listen she doesnt say this is the case for everyone but what she prefers not to have in her skin care.
But also if you ever watch Dr. Dray a dermatologist she says that lavender isnt good in skincare because people can become allergic and that it's an irritant.
I think it would be great though if one of her videos she had a dermatologist and chemist talk about ingredients in skincare! That would be very interesting.
Tati, you turned me onto Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream and that has to be the Best product you have introduced to me. It's my vacation in a tub. The scent is almost as good as a vacation, and the moisturizing effect makes this a total winner. Thanks a million!

I love bum bum cream...fun fact tho...Gold Bond radiance renewal cream smells JUST like it!!! Literally..no joke!!! It's really good too!!! For a fraction of the price and very good quality!!!

Me too! A lot of people can be allergic or breakout to “bad” ingredients! It’s nice to include some options! I don’t really look into the ingredients of my make up but people shouldn’t hate on her for pointing it out! Good for her!

While this is an adjustment for most of your viewers I'm a firm believer of 'when you know better, you do better', regardless of other people not being on board. I use extremely clean products, but still watch your videos....even though I choose not to use many of the same products you share. Keep searching, educating and sharing what you discover!

Yes, I think she just really loves that scent and so do I but I will not use it even though I own it because the fragrance is so strong and it immediately gives me a headache. Every time I wear it people tell me I smell delicious and immediately asked me what I'm wearing, but I can't even tolerate it in the smallest amounts
Melissa Huff it’s not confusing at all. She said she is trying to get rid of all skincare and foundation that have fragrance. I’m sure she will eventually get rid of all face products that have fragrance. If you check the description box, she hasn’t been using any of those (Lancôme, Dior, La Mer, etc) on her face. Also, she never said anything about getting rid of fragrance in body lotion. Again, the skin on your face is different than the rest of your body. That’s why face moisturizer and body lotion are different products.

I wouldn't trust something like this coming from Tati, TBH. She doesn't seem to know much about what ingredients are good or bad. She keeps talking about "toxic" ingredients, and aside fom some obvious ones, i.e. formaldehyde releasers (BTW, they are often used instead of parabens in products), skincare and makeup companies don't actively put things hat are supposed to harm the skin. Also: fragrance is something that is bad for the skin in general, but she kept plenty of things with a lot of fragrance in them. She thinks parabens are bad, which they are not. She thinks that "natural" is good, which is most often not the case - "natural" brands often include a lot of problematic ingredients
It doesn’t make sense to me that you’re getting rid of products because, of fragrance. But, buy the Bum Bum Cream that has coconut and fragrance. I’m sorry that just confused me. Happy New Year to everyone!!

Face and body are two different things, she doesn't like fragrance on her face/eye products, it irritates her face and many others faces too and it isn't even really needed.
You don't put that on the face though...lol.
I get the bum bum cream isn’t going on her face but she does sell vitamins to take care of the skin as a whole not just the face, so ingredients should apply to the whole body not just a pick and chose when it is convenient.

I'm the same way. I avoid fragrance on my face 100% but allow it on my body bc the skin on my face takes certain ingredients differently than my body does. It's much more sensitive, I guess the same applies for her.

Hi Tati! I'm really enjoying your journey learning about what ingredients you want in your skin care and make up and what you don't. I see lots of people giving out but like you've always said you're not going to extreme and throw out everything, I only use very specific things when it comes to skin care, primer and foundation, powder etc but after that I just slap on whatever I want. Doesn't make me a hypocrite, your choices for certain ingredients or certain products don't make you one either - it's informed decision making for what works for you, that's something we can all benefit from ❤️.
