- 21-year-old Ivan is an international student from Germany at Sichuan University. While in high school, he fell in love with a Chinese folk song "Chengdu" and decided to come to Chengdu to study and live in this mysterious city in China. Now in Chengdu, he is working hard to learn Chinese. Not only can he mingle with ordinary local citizens and experience Chengdu's unique leisure life, but after some exploration trips, he has also been deeply attracted by the charm of Chinese language and wisdom. What kind of life is he experiencing here and why is this German student so fascinated by it?

成都，我應該不能去，因為我只想到食物很辣。
那大可不必。四川人包括成都人不可能全吃辣味，这不符合中华文化包括饮食文化的基本原则。中华文化追主要的原则是讲究平衡中和。具体体现在餐桌上，有苦的，就一定会有甜的，有辣的，就一定会有不辣都，有比较咸的，就一定会会有淡菜。选择很多，点菜和吃饭都是一门学问。
成都有很多不辣的菜。另外成都的辣度本身就不是纯粹的辣，而是香辣和麻辣，辣度也比较适中
成都的辣不如湖南湖北貴州雲南重慶。而且成都也有很多不辣的菜，連火鍋也是鴛鴦鍋。
